between an alligator and a crocodile is that an alligator has its snout in a U shape, while a crocodile has its snout in a V shape? Besides, when its snout is closed only the upper row of an alligator's teeth will show, while crocodiles show both. Anyways, any pronouns. Languages: spanish, german and english 🇵🇪 im peruvian
if you're leaving her a comment, make sure to ask her why she said it could ever be ok to create a similar blog to hers (which platforms stories exclusively of transfem abusers), but for "nonBlack survivors to tell their stories of being raped by Black people"
she shouldn't be allowed to forget she said that 👍
why did she disable reblogs on that post? surely there couldn't be a reason she doesn't want anyone to see it right?
she continues to try to reframe this as if she didn't say what she said. unfortunately for her you can literally just click the link and read the words that she said
there was no "rhetorical trap" she fell into, no disingenuous analogy. she was asked, plain and simple, if a blog similar to hers but "for nonBlack survivors to tell their stories of being raped by Black people" could be a good idea, and she unambiguously said such a thing could be done ethically, and that such a thing would not really be different from what she's doing with her blog. if you won't take my word for it then read her words for yourself
she cannot bury this because there is a link right there. so she will continue to try to reframe it and act like she said something else or was responding to something else. very brazen lies I gotta admit!
Online Quiz Result: "You got Mira! You're the quiet stoic type, total badass. You never associate with a cuter aesthetic, choosing instead to present more edgy. You listen to hard rock and metal in your free time and can't be bothered with boring mundane tasks, like cooking and reading. Total top energy to boot!"
Zoey: *Looks over at her pink haired beauty who is wearing her gold rimmed thin wire glasses, polarbear gown with a matching bow holding up her slightly messy bun as a few strands of hair lie loose next to a few hickies and bite marks from her girls when they took care of her after a stressful day. She's sitting on the couch with a book in one hand and her long fingers gently stroking her bottom lip before she turns a page.* Hey, Mir?
Mira: Yeah baby? *She asks in an almost sing songy voice.*
Zoey: Could... could we have American breakfast for dinner tonight?
Mira: *Checks the gold watch on her wrist that matches her glasses* Oh, shit, it is that time huh? Sorry babes, got caught up reading. *Marks her page* Yeah, I figured you were gonna ask soon so I picked up the stuff to make waffles, omelets, and biscuits in gravy. *Gets up to place a kiss on Zoey’s head*
Zoey: Oh! It's ok you don't have to get up right this second. *Waves her hand in dismissal*
Mira: *Raises an eyebrow* So that's not your stomach growling rn? Yeah, I don't think so. My girls aren't going hungry on my watch. Now, you're on distract-Rumi-from-work-until-dinner duty, while I cook.
Zoey: *whispers* hehe... duty
Mira: *already walking away* yeah yeah yeah, you're a dork we're aware, no go make sure our girlfriend isn't working herself into the ground and ~maybe~ there will be some chocolate covered strawberries in it for you two. *She calls from the kitchen*
Zoey: *looking back at the quiz, thinking to herself:* Man, if only you guys knew.
I need everyone to picture Mira growing up painfully shy. Like, the kind of kid who would rehearse what she wanted to say in her head three times before actually speaking and would rather disappear than have a teacher call on her.
And then one day something just... snapped. She realized she didn't have to make herself small anymore, didn't have to be the quiet, obedient girl her parents wanted her to be. She could just be Mira.
She started speaking her mind. Started dressing how she wanted. Started walking into rooms like she owned them. Suddenly she's the coolest person anyone has ever met and has absolutely no problem telling someone they're being an idiot to their face.
The funniest part is that every once in a while, the old Mira still slips through.
Someone compliments her unexpectedly and she immediately looks away, gets quiet, and starts fidgeting with her sleeve
One of the funniest things about Mormonism is that I’m sure Joseph Smith never believed any of the bullshit he said. There are some religions and cults where you have faith the original prophet actually thought they were talking to angels or believed the set of principles they laid out for their followers were for the greater good. Joseph Smith was a dumbass but like PT Barnum he realized a sucker was born every day and he was one step above the average 1830s sucker. He went from making people pay him to look at a rock in a top hat and ‘locate buried treasure’ to receiving lost bits of scripture, through the rock and top hat method. His wife caught him cheating and he said an angel visited him and told him men should be allowed multiple wives and not obeying that would send her to hell. I’m fairly convinced that dude was an atheist. He was on that hustler grindset. Brigham Young might have actually believed some of the shit he said but I don’t think Joseph Smith genuinely had faith in Mormonism or gave a fuck about humanity in the slightest.
I mean, success is a relative term. He was shot to death by an angry mob at the age of 38 while running for US president, after inciting a riot by ordering a printing press to be destroyed because the ex-Mormon newspaper was saying true things about him. He was arrested for starting the riot, freed, tried to declare martial law and call out his own personal militia before fleeing. It was only when he was apprehended and brought back to Carthage that the people of Illinois resorted to mob justice. Truly Trump-esque behavior but that guy has gotten away with it for 79 years.
Also, I think it’s so funny that his Wikipedia lists him as the first U.S. presidential candidate to be assassinated kind of implying he was assassinated for presidential politic reasons and not because he was a career criminal who had been terrorizing Illinois for 5 years straight.
prior to the birth of their firstborn children, and knowing that they’re going to have two kids due to mira and rumi both being pregnant, zoey buys two baby carrier packs, one for the front, and one for the back.
she adores the idea of carrying her kids around like that, especially doing the classic response to someone cooing at how cute her baby is and turning around to reveal a second cute baby on her back.
but, of course, then the triplets are born.
suddenly, zoey feels conflicted about baby packs. she obviously needs one for two babies, but she knows those are less practical for when they get bigger, and she was hoping to be able to get bigger ones for when their daughters get older and she feels wrong at the idea of leaving one out and at having to chose who gets to be in front and which two would be relegated to the back or who would be relegated to the back while the other two were in front-
and it all makes her spiral so much that one day rumi and mira find her actually sobbing over the baby carriers she bought.
they’re stricken at the sight of their wife so distraught, and ask her what’s wrong. she explains what’s worrying her so much, and her wives are, of course, immediately understanding. they know that zoey is desperate to never make their girls ever feel left out.
they comfort her and, for the night, just decide to go with a triplet baby stroller.
but mira wants her wife to be able to experience this thing she was dreaming about so much. so she thinks long and hard for a solution to zoey’s dilemma. weight isn’t an issue, she knows, because zoey is stupid strong.
she ends up designing a large three baby carrier that zoey can wear on the front, and is stretchy enough that the triplets can still be in it as they get bigger. it doesn’t allow for zoey to do the baby reveal trick, but it allows zoey to be able to carry all three of their babies at once and kiss their heads in a row.
zoey jumps up to kiss mira when she sees it for the first time, before taking it for a test ride around the living room with their daughters.
both rumi and mira find the sight so adorable that they take a photo of the four of them, and frame it.
five years later, zoey runs into another baby carrier dilemma after the birth of their son taeyong.
she tries pulling out one of the single ones she got some use out of, but there’s an issue: taeyong is too small for them. sure, he’ll grown into them, but zoey is devastated that she can’t have the same experience with her son that she had with her daughters.
mira to the rescue again. she designs another carrier made for babies as small as taeyong, and made to stretch as he gets bigger.
again, zoey thanks her profusely, and the photo of him cradled against her chest in the carrier gets framed.
six years after that, the last baby carrier issue comes. it’s not a baby size issue, or a matter of space, or anything like that.
miyeong hates them. all of them. every single one. and they don’t really know why at first.
they’ll carry her around normally and she’ll be fine, but the second she’s in the carrier she’ll immediately start crying.
mira tries desperately to find any design miyeong will like. she knows how important this is to zoey, and she wants her daughter to be comfortable so badly, but she’s finding it hard to balance the two.
she’s even tried cutting out a section of her shirt so that miyeong has immediate access to skin to skin contact when she’s in the carrier, but no dice. miyeong still cries.
she eventually concedes and goes to zoey, disappointed in herself. “i failed,” she says, hanging her head. “i couldn’t give you this. i’m so sorry.”
zoey is shocked. “failed? oh baby! you’re okay! listen, our daughter is just particular! that’s not your fault, and its not hers either!”
mira snorts. “no. i guess it’s rumi’s.”
zoey bats gently at her arm, but laughs nonetheless. “be nice. she did just go through hell pushing that very particular baby out for us.“
mira nods. “you’re right, that’s true. but she is a diva.”
zoey laughs again, and it gets the attention of miyeong, who’s laying in a bassinet nearby. she squirms and whines, reaching out her arms so she’ll be picked up.
zoey complies. almost instantly, miyeong calms. “well, mimitoo, it looks like we may have figured out your favorite baby carrier.” she snuggles her close. “your mommy’s arms!”
they make sure to get a photo of miyeong and her like that, too.
Ok theres a fic where rumi gets hit by a bus and ofc hides it and i need to find it it came along with this picture at the notes of the fic and im putting out a bolo for it
I have so many bookmarks of kpdh fics i will go through them all in a drunken haze if i have to
Skill issues: Your girlfriend sends you a message, but you don't understand what she wants
I just didn't want to throw that draft away, so I drew this...As (unsurprisingly) my health is terrible, I'm still trying to sketch things out now and then just so I don't forget how to draw
Second thought about the Odyssey. I'm kind of mad that they made Odysseus twanging his bow about 'fighting with honour' because A) I don't think we ever actually see him fighting with honour in the film - and specifically his fighting is referenced to Telemachus in what I would argue is a clever but dishonourable move (something along the lines of pretending to fall back/weaken to draw the opponent in) and B) hunting was, at the best, a show of strength and prowess and (once him and the guys have been stuck on a boat for several months) an important way of finding food. You know what's a phenomenally stupid idea? WARNING YOUR PREY THAT YOU'RE COMING. (also, why did the deer guy turn back into a person, when it's definitely implied that Circe was feeding the guys human-pig stew)?
The thing is, I do think that that twanging of the bow was a cool character detail (for a character who, let's be honest, wasn't working with lot of them - film, not epic) and you know what it would have been a great trait to emphasise? ODYSSEUS' HUBRIS! It could have been a, 'I'm so great at hunting that I have to give the prey a bit of a warning because that's the only way to make it challenging enough for me' type of deal. You know, the kind of thing that would be done by the type guy who used to specifically set up a difficult arrow/axes shot just to show off cause he knows he's the only one who can do that. The kind of guy that doxxed himself to a monster, just because he wanted to make sure the guy knew just who had fucked him over.
Throwing my two cents into the pot of trashing on Nolan’s The Odyssey outside of tags
Odysseus has this whole monologue about how guilty he feels about the war and his role in it, from my memory he essentially blames himself for ruining the concept of Xenia (“Zeus’s Law”) for everyone, etc etc etc
FIRSTLY, as so many people have already pointed out, Odysseus is prideful and clever, those are the two traits that define him and his story more than anything else. Nolan’s movie doesn’t show him as either of these things at any point other than dressing as a beggar upon returning to Ithaca (after someone else advised him to) and the famed trojan horse plan. And then Nolan decided that actually he feels crippling guilt about his horse plan, the one trick he pulled the whole movie and his arc (if you can call it that) centers around hating it.
SECONDLY, this monologue is overlayed with his memories of the siege on Troy. He goes on and on about what horrible things he’s done… but he doesn’t actually do anything in the flashbacks. In fact it seemed like Nolan went out of his way to not show Odysseus doing anything that could be considered morally reprehensible. Other Greeks are shown dragging innocents out into the street, slaughtering women and children, sacking temples, while Odysseus just watches. The only Trojans he’s ever shown killing from my memory were soldiers who attacked him first to defend their home. Odysseus just stands and watches for most of the siege after killing a couple soldiers and it’s so, so, so unfathomably dumb. The entire premise of the film is “Odysseus BUT he’s tortured by guilt” and Nolan couldn’t even bring himself to give Odysseus anything of substance to be guilty of. He can’t risk having an unsympathetic white male protagonist after all.
This is probably not very well phrased on my part but it bothers me. The whole film bothers me.
due to director christopher nolan’s refusal to use special effects, actress samantha morton learns witchcraft in order to gruesomely turn men into pigs.
hearing anything about the nolan odyssey is so funny. it's like "they cut the extremely important and infamous nobody scene" "the cyclops is a giant puppet that they put in an actual historical cave + gave circe animatronics for her pig transformation instead of cgi" "they dumped plastic skeletons in an environmentally protected location they were not supposed to be in" "they recreated ancient greek instruments in order to have an accurate score" "all of odysseus's agency is basically gone" "anne hathaway actually learned how to weave ancient looms" "the women in this movie are treated like shit" "they actually buried actors alive to get those underworld shots" "did you see what the fuck zendaya was fucking wearing holy shit you can't DO THAT, MA'AM" "what do you mean there was a legitimate epic the musical reference" "NOT A SINGLE FUCKING GREEK WAS CAST IN THIS MOVIE"
like did nolan have two guys standing at his side at all times whispering ideas in his ear and one told the truth and the other told lies and they didnt tell him which was which until they wrapped production cause
for a long time now, one of my go-to phrases is "shake it like a can of beans." im not really sure where this came from, but i've been saying it for three years or so. it never really occurred to me that this was unusual until yesterday when i was bouncing a baby in a rocker a little too violently (he was having a great time, it just wasnt exactly sending him to sleep) and i went "sorry, im shaking him like a can of beans over here" and both my coworkers reacted like i had said something insane
one of the babies was getting picked up and started screaming as soon as her dad pulled her from her crib (where she'd been sleeping) and i instinctively said "that's what we in the industry call: baby moding" and he started laughing so hard he almost dropped her
When you want to order the cute girl at the bar a drink but she’s been turning down everything other people has been sliding her way. So you decide to order her food instead, but you don’t know any of her allergies so you’re in the corner fighting for your life trying not to kill a person via allergic reaction. Then when you finally settle on lukewarm, unsauced pasta, you begin to sweat bc what if she can’t eat gluten….
Someone wrote a fic about this comic for an event and I need yalls to lay your eyes upon this bc i was laughing the whole time. please leave a very nice message for the author and look at the other works in the collection its in!
