Fashion of the Women of Westeros - The Stormlands

In the Stormlands, durability is favored above all in fashion.

Similar to the North, the women prefer thick and layer-able fabrics with long sleeves to keep out the constant rain. Belts and arm bands play a crucial role in ensuring that fabrics are sufficiently weighed down in the wind.

Hair is typically worn in tightly bound styles, adorned with heavy headpieces often made of metals and gemstones.

I was just wondering why you linked that middle outfit when that link no longer works. Either you or tumblr has deleted that post, so the outfit is no longer available. I'll have to see if I still have it and find the right one, as those file names are often very hard to remember.

Daggar (that blue one) and Daemon (red one). This is very old drawing of mine and it's based on one story I wrote long time ago.

The most central character in the story is Sonya, who has special abilities (nothing fancy in the story) and she later meets Daggar and they become deeply attached to each other and fells in love. This is where the adventure starts and the tangle begins to unravel, but more layers are added to it when it dawns on Daggar, as well as Daemon, that someone else has been pulling the strings and making them (Daggar and Daemon) fight each other. And Sonya is really a bit of a pawn in the middle of all this. Although Daggar really wants to protect Sonya, because he has fallen in love with her and it's mutual. And besides, in my story, the dragons can switch between their human and dragon characters as they want, so I haven't put any restrictions on that. And Sonya is like that too, although she finds out about it during the story and of course she uses it to her advantage as she learns how her dragon character works. And I have this little bad habit of always writing a role for my favorite actor, so that's what happened this time too. In this case, one of the very central characters, namely Daggar. And yeah, I came up with pretty simple names for those dragons. There certainly could have been better ones, but somehow these fit my story and Daggar means (at least to me) dagger and Daemon of course Demon.

And apologies for any grammatical errors, as well as spelling mistakes, but English is not my native language and I have to write the texts in my own language first and then translate them into English. So there can and certainly are mistakes, as well as other mistakes, etc. And sorry for the long message. I got a little too excited again, but dragons have always been something I really, really like, along with my favorite actor. :D

The sun was getting higher and higher, and so was I, and I was already getting tired, so I decided to rest a bit. I had seen a suitable ledge, which I was now leaning against. Feeling tired, I sat down on a sun-warmed stone and sipped water from my flask. I looked at the landscape that spread out before me and realized that I was already quite high and could see a small camp on the other side of the forest and further away from it the city and its tall towers were visible. After a while, I felt like I could continue my journey. However, I didn't have time to move when I heard heavy breathing behind me. I turned to look and found myself staring into sapphire blue eyes that were staring at me from the shadow. What I thought was just a shadow on the mountain wall was actually a cave. Those eyes were looking at me with interest and curiosity, and soon I began to feel uncomfortable. The owner of the eyes seemed to think so too, because it stepped out of the cave and now I could see that it was a large blue-patterned dragon. Its sides and belly were lighter blue, its back a little darker and it was covered in dark stripes like a tiger. It had three light scars on its snout, which must have come from battles at some point. Although the creature was impressive, it didn’t look nearly as ferocious as the creature in Serena’s vision, which had also been much larger. I felt that the large creature was friendly and decided that it must be Daggar. “You must be Daggar?” I asked uncertainly, not knowing how to address dragons. “I am.” Daggar answered in a deep voice, still looking at me curiously. “And you must be Sonya.” It continued. “I am.” I answered quietly. “Serena sent me.” I added. “Serena.” Daggar repeated and looked at me kindly. “Yes.” I answered and explained everything about Serena’s vision. Daggar looked at me seriously, his eyes glowing beautifully in the sunlight. “I…” Daggar began, but the rest was drowned out by a huge roar that echoed ominously along the mountainside. It must have been heard down to the camp and the nearby town as well. “Daemon.” Daggar growled and now looked intently at the landscape spread out in front of him, the mountainside and the beautiful blue sky. “Get into my cave and stay there, no matter what you hear.” It said, spreading its huge wings.

I nodded and retreated into the shelter of the cave. All I could hear was a hiss as Daggar took to its wings. It was quiet, but soon that oppressive silence was broken by the wildest growl and roar I had ever heard. Not even the occasional dogfights near the marketplaces made such a terrible sound. I heard growls and roars, mixed with occasional flashes of flame and booms. I wanted to see what was going on and crept right to the mouth of the cave. I looked at the landscape and saw two large creatures in the sky, fighting with each other. One of them was clearly bigger than the other, but it didn't seem to bother the fighters. Soon there was a huge roar and the blue dragon began to slowly fall downwards and soon disappeared from sight. "Daggar." I gasped, but didn't dare move yet, because Daemon was still circling in the sky. I watched it soar until it disappeared from sight. I carefully ventured onto the ledge and peered down. I saw Daggar lying between the boulders below. Despite the fact that Daemon might still be nearby, I began to hurtle down the slope. I was constantly afraid that Daggar was dead, for so bad had his fall seemed. It took me a while to get to him, and to my relief I saw that he was breathing. Daggar appeared to be in a terrible state, with deep gashes on his flanks, his strong neck, and his beautifully shaped snout. One of his wings looked so badly twisted that I suspected it was broken. I examined him quickly, finding no other external injuries, and I feared that the internal ones might be worse. Suddenly I knew what I had to do. It was as if a warm voice had told me and guided me. I raised my hands and placed them on Daggar's smooth, scaled skin. It trembled at my touch, but I didn't let it bother me. I listened to that inner voice that advised me on a previously unknown spell and the words came out of my mouth as if by themselves and I felt some kind of power flowing warm from my fingers into that beautiful creature. After a while of doing this, I felt my strength begin to fade, but I didn't want to stop, but the words kept flowing from my lips. I wanted to help Daggar. Finally my strength ran out and I fell to the ground, sinking into velvet darkness. I don't know how long I had been unconscious, but when I woke up, I was lying on the bed. I looked around and saw that I was in a carriage. I carefully raised myself on my hands, because I wanted to know whose carriage I was in.

When I wrote this, I tried a slightly different style of writing and here the narrator is Sonya, because the name of the story in question is Sonya. And this is still quite early in the story, but not completely from the beginning. Here is how Sonya and Daggar meet and create a pretty strong bond with each other, because Sonya saves Daggar's life. And anyway, I thought, since in my story the dragons are very long-lived, and also in some ways magical creatures, that if and when you do something for the dragon, then a pretty strong bond will result between the dragon and this benefactor, whether it's friendship or much more than friendship. And sorry if the translation is not the best possible. I translated it a bit quickly, with Google Translate, which is not known for being very good. But hopefully you can now understand what is happening and what I meant. :D

Finally... after starting this drawing in 2023 I have finished my magnum opus lol.

Featuring dragon! Strickler and a redesigned Magiktech amulet armour design for Jim that ACTUALLY matches with Excalibur and resembles Daylight a bit more, for future events in Challenging Destiny! (They're still a while away lol. But the gist is Strickler gets a new form, as a dragon, to help with a certain future-past quest).

Head shots just in case tumblr eats the quality, and close up on my version of the reforged Excalibur (also yes, that is a wedding ring on Strickler's claw! It helps him shift forms, later on in Challenging Destiny).

Also because I'm very proud of it, the drawing with just the background since I drew it as a complete thing! First time doing a background with water and it being a fully rendered piece on its own.

There is something very similar in these pictures. Other is from Law&Order SVU and other is from The Strain. Both are tv-series.

There are some differences, of course, but it seems that the second image was used and edited to fit the needs of The Strain TV series. And you should look at when that L&O SVU Season 10, Episode 4 2008 (so yeah, this was first) came out. That is, in which year, The Strain started in 2014 and ended in 2017. There weren't many seasons of it because it was intentionally short.

1. Favourite colour— Black, blue, red

2. Last song— What it Sounds Like, Huntrix, K-Pop Demon hunters. This song hits and sinks in because part of the time of an ADHD person is spent masking and trying to fit in and be like everyone else. Or be like they are supposed to be, especially if they are a woman. Of course I know that this song is related to the movie and the fact that one of the members of the Huntrix band is half demon. But this still works with ADHD and Autism and many other differences that often have to be hidden from others for one reason or another.

3. Currently reading— I'm not really reading anything right now, but I'm still working on LOTR Fellowship of the Ring (in English). And if anyone's wondering, English is not my native language, I'm from Finland. :)

4. Currently watching— A little bit of everything from TV series to movies. Now I'm thinking about watching LOTR-Two Towers after a long time. One of the three movies that belongs to the best movie trilogy in the world. Which is just my opinion, but I love the LOTR movie trilogy. :)

5. Currently craving— Chocolate... Of course, I always crave it. :D

Stricker 1 2 3

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

(Obviously I like Strickler a LOT) But I guess I like how complicated of a character he is? You can't fit him nice and neatly into good or bad, and he struggles with making the right decisions, often he makes the WRONG decision first. But he strives to make himself better anyway. Also... he is very attractive lol in both forms as a bonus. He's a fun character who's very much so influenced the type of characters I go for as favourites.

2. Favourite canon thing about this character?

Hmm surface level wise, definitely LOVE that he has wings!! Also a fan of Strickler canonically (eventually at least) getting engaged to Barbara and being Jim's future step dad. I just really love his and Jim's father-son relationship okay? And he's so silly sometimes with his horrible dad jokes and tucked in jumpers, so dad shaped I swear. I also appreciate that one of the first things Jim does post RoTT is go to Strickler and set him up with Barbara and this man just accepts it lol.

3. Least favourite canon thing about this character?

That he doesn't get enough screen time? (Biased I know) More seriously, I wish he had just a little bit more screen time in season 3 to get in some more development for his redemption arc. I still think Bad coffee should have been focused on Jim and Strickler and not also include Barbara. And that he tried a little bit harder to give a formal apology to both of them, even though I know he does seem to struggle with those. And I guess also killing him off in RoTT when it was OOC and stupid. Like, I know the writers didn't care because they knew from the start they'd be undoing all the deaths, but still.

i Might Make a Post Covering Strickler as i think he might my favorite Antagonist in the Show . i think he deserve to get attention and i Mostly Blame Strickerlake being rushed on the Lack of Screentime of the Character.

I'd love to see your thoughts on him in a post! Although I think since he's only an antagonist for relatively short amount of time in the show I'd just say he's a anti hero, or morally grey character. Especially since he redeems!

Yeah they tried to focus on Stricklake to set it up properly, but the screentime limit sort of made it feel incomplete. Not bad, but it could have been better.

I agree with everything, but Strickler is my favorite character also because of the voice actor, Jonathan Hyde. Let's not forget him because I think he did a very good job and brought Strickler to life in a good way. :) And Strickler looks like him. :D

A few more pictures of my favorite actor lookalike sim. And yeah, a normal workday (despite the fact that the Get Famous add-on is a bit buggy), as it can be for an actor sim living in the sims world. Then a little swordplay, which luckily went well, and he didn't drop his sword blade first on his instep. :D And then they went (or let's pretend it was) to a masquerade party in Ondario (a neighborhood that came with the Dynasties add-on) and for some reason Tybalt Capulet was the entertainer for the evening. Well, it's not forbidden for nobles and if it makes him happy, then so be it. :D But yeah, that's what happens in the sims, because of the peculiar logic of the sims and the sim world. :D

My other dynasty that lives same save than Lind. Wood dynasty and the starter Erik. And yes Erik made friends with Arthur. :D And Erik also has little adventure with Coralline before he met Laura. Oh and Erik and Corallina has baby, Justus. And Erik also have baby with Laura, Eleonora and other baby on the way. Laura is very heavily pregnant. :D Oh and Laura doesn't know that Erik has had an affair with Coralliina and that they have a child. But she doesn't need to know, as I said earlier, it happened well before Erik met Laura, fell in love and married her.

And this is again just random sims stuff this time. :D

And I think there was a bug, because at the end of the heavy downpour and even after the weather had cleared up, there were apparently nudist Sims walking around Erik's plot. And even the royal who arrived as a guest (I can't remember the title and name exactly) must have really frowned upon these nudists. XD

Oh and Erik got himself a horse named Legolas. :D I guess I got a good excuse to use that saddle that came with the previous TS4 event. :D
