COVID didn't invent mask culture, and I have no problem wearing one whenever I step out for the rest of my life.

This is also ablist af. I wore a mask on public transit before COVID because a cold could kill me and has put me in the hospital before. I have a selfie on a train in the US from 2019 wearing one.

Wanna know the difference now? My mask options are better. We have more that actually protect me better. I got to wear some super cool looking masks before switching to fully disposable N95s. I don't feel as awkward about it anymore. Keep mask culture. Maybe they'll make some cute N95s that work for my face. Maybe if more people wore them, I'd even less likely to get sick.
