Norway's "We’re Sorry" Monument to 91 Dead Witches

“The town of Vardø, known as ‘the witch capital of Norway,’ has built a monument dedicated to the memory of the men and women who were burnt or tortured to death, accused of sorcery. In 2011, these victims were granted official recognition. Beltane ramble in Guernsey ! I visited the ancient site called “Le Dehus dolmen”, it is impressive. Nobody around, I could be alone inside and stay as much as I wanted. The face carved in the stone, close to the ceiling, is called “The Guardian of the tomb”. May 2015. All photos taken by me.
