Books hold most of the secrets of the world, most of the thoughts that men and women have had. And when you are reading a book, you and the author are alone together—just the two of you.

“The town of Vardø, known as ‘the witch capital of Norway,’ has built a monument dedicated to the memory of the men and women who were burnt or tortured to death, accused of sorcery. In 2011, these victims were granted official recognition. The Steilneset Memorial was unveiled by Norway’s queen on the same spot thought to be the execution site of the 91 so-called witches.” See also : the Steilneset Memorial by Peter Zumthor & Louise Bourgeois : http://architectureau.com/articles/witchcraft-memorial-vardo-norway/
The best thing is that you’re living your dream. It doesn’t feel like a job. It’s not 9-5, and it’s what I’ve always wanted to do. I get to put on the clothes – metaphorically speaking – of all these different people and live another life. That’s what it’s all about to me, inhabiting this space that’s constantly different.

Beltane ramble in Guernsey ! I visited the ancient site called “Le Dehus dolmen”, it is impressive. Nobody around, I could be alone inside and stay as much as I wanted. The face carved in the stone, close to the ceiling, is called “The Guardian of the tomb”. May 2015. All photos taken by me.

“Maybe it’s just in America, but it seems that if you’re passionate about something, it freaks people out. You’re considered bizarre or eccentric. To me, it just means you know who you are.”

“My dear Sam. You cannot always be torn in two. You have to be one and whole for many years. You have so much enjoy and to be and to do. Because Sam, your part in the journey goes on.”
