This picture represents my ideas about justice perfectly. If there is injustice/inequality, there will eventually be no peace when the people revolt. If you just treat everyone equally, there will less conflict. Without justice, would you like to live? If a thief was to go unpunished, wouldn't you revolt and go against the government until they see your point of view? Without justice, the world/people would not settle down. This picture is so simple, yet so informative.

How has your opinion of social media changed doing this project? Some people look at social media in a negative way- how can you argue that it can be useful AND educational?

My opinions of social media had not been drastically changed. I still feel like its a blessing and a curse; it has benefits, but at the same time, it has disadvantages that contradict with the benefits. Here are some examples:

- Being Social A lot of people in this world are shy. Being able to talk to people anonymously, really helps people “Come out of their shell”. They become more confident and cooperative. Being social helps people even make friends that they would have not made in a million years.

- Cyber-Bullying Would you really be surprised if I told you that some form of online bullying still exists? It’s in human nature to insult or tease people. Humans have a tendency to “Bully” people or a group of people that are inferior to them

In conclusion, social media has good stuff and bad stuff. If you focus more on the good stuff and be an optimist. You will benefit more than a person that is pessimistic. To the people that think of it in a negative way, you will never succeed if you continue being a pessimist.

First, I used to think social media is just a way to get stuff around and isn’t as important as other stuff (Sports, games, etc..). However, my view has now changed. I enjoyed reading mr. Lahkehr's ideas. He sounded very genuine and real, he backed up all his data with facts or opinion's that made you want to continue reading. He also gave many great examples. I agree completely with him,

Reflect on how The Piano Lesson can be represented in two different mediums. What sort of impact does this have on the story? Have you ever read a book that was later turned into a movie? What changed between the two mediums? Write two paragraphs.

The piano lesson is the perfect type of book that could be perfectly represented or shown in a different medium. While other books fail to do so, the piano lesson excels in it. The piano lesson has a lot of raw emotion. Movies best represent these scenes due to the usual sad music and face expressions. A lot of scenes in the book contain humor that is entertaining in the book, which would be the same in a movie. I believe that it is and will be great in the two mediums.

What is a lesson that YOU think every G10 student around the world should be taught? This does not have have to anything to do with justice, reputation or The Piano Lesson but should be something that YOU think is important. Give two reasons to support your choice.

One lesson that I feel I should say to my fellow grade 10 students would be that what you do from now will change your life. Your choices and decisions will change how people look at you and treat you. Whether it's a choice about your education, or just a choice about how you want to live your life. Always think of the pros and cons of any major life-changing event (College) because if you don't, you might regret something that you can't change.

i chose this quote because it explains justice compleitley , it shows that the good guys aren’t always doing the right thing and the bad guys aren’t alway doing the wrong thing

I agree 100% with mohammed. If you want to be a just and fair person, you must agree to be fair to both sides. You cannot be fair to one person, and not the other. You must be equally fair to everyone. Everyone is created as equals, and should be treated as such.

After actively participating in a collaborative discussion in class, reflect on ways that your ideas and beliefs were challenged by your classmates. Did your opinions change? If so, how? Write at least 2 paragraphs.

I began to understand that others think differently, and react differently to different scenarios. My idea slightly changed, but not by much. I respect everyone's opinion but i still have the same mentality as i always do.

I understand everyone's ideas but i still believe in my view of justice as the one that is correct. People gave good ideas and fair points, which made me slightly rethink my opinion. But in the end, i stuck with me idea.

Search for a news article that represents some form of justice or reputation, and then write a paragraph to persuade your audience to agree with your point of view.

"In response to "France Warns its Tourists about Chicago’s West Side, Far South Side," (News, Nov. 18): I have spent the last few years of my life living and working on the West Side of Chicago in the Wicker Park area. France telling its citizens to stay away from that part of Chicago is insulting. Mayor Rahm Emanuel is said to be on track for a $7 million budget with no plans to increase police hiring. Instead, he plans to rely on police overtime. In order for the city to make money, we depend on tourists. When the media highlights comments such as these it disrupts business for local restaurants, retail storeowners, and everyone in between. Chicagoans need to take action in shaping our city’s image.”

~ Reputation is a very powerful thing. If you are on the good side of it, then life will go smoothly for you. Alternatively, if you’re on the bad side of it, life will not. If one country were to have a bad reputation, then other countries (tourists) would not go there and would not want to recommend it to anyone else. Eg: Say that the US lost all it’s money, and everyone was slowly losing their jobs. You would not want to travel there in fear of not getting a job/losing money.

I agree completely with Adam. Social networking helps people interact and get social with each other. You might make a good friend from social media that you probably would never have met in a million years. :)

How does social networking helps you better connect with the world around you?

Social media helped everyone that needed a reply immediately. It greatly helped the world become closer and less distant away. It helps you communicate with people that aren't near you. Instead of using mail, which takes about several weeks to reach a certain area. You could send a "message", which would take about a minute. They could reply in an instant, and your "Problem/Question" would be solved.

Eg:

 If you need to communicate with a professor that is in a different country.

You would usually send a letter that would approximately take 2              weeks to reach there. if you desperately needed that answer, you would want him to reply instantly. but when he receives the letter. he would send it, and you would receive it in 2 more weeks. with social media, he would receive the message in a second. He will also reply (depending if he's online) with your answer.

 If you want to talk to your relatives, that are in a different country.

Suppose You're wondering about your relatives. Instead of sending mail, that once they send it back, something tragic may happen, and you wouldn't know until you decide to send another letter (Possibly a few months later). You could send a message that would be read, and replied to, that very instance.

 If you want to know about the severe weather that is happening in a different country (Thunderstorm, Tornado, etc..)

You're wondering about your relatives. Instead of sending mail, that once they send it back, something tragic (Thunderstorm/Tornado) may happen, and you wouldn't know until you decide to send another letter. You could send a message that they would read, and (Depending if they're online) reply to.
