i recently come across a post on twt where op pointed out that Itachi told sasuke to live in hatred to avenge the Uchiha clan but itachi had been spending the rest of his years (alive) recalling every memory he had of sasuke while waiting for their fated day because he never stopped loving sasuke so itachi could instantly recalled the time they had done mission together during kabuto fight

while sasuke despite drown himself in hatred towards itachi per itachi instructions to become stronger took less than a second to recall that fond memory too bc deep down he still loves itachi

kakashi as a character is so fucking funny. literally the most extreme version of ‘they should’ve been at the club’ imaginable, only instead of the club it’s usually like. elementary school. that he should’ve been at. the most child soldier out of a cast made basically exclusively out of child soldiers, which is honestly kind of impressive. like this guy had already accomplished more in his career and accumulated a higher kill count than most people could hope to achieve in a lifetime by the age of 17, and then he just kept fucking doing it to the point that the head of Child Soldier Nation had to tell him to take a break already. and then they made him PRESIDENT!!!

So there's this weird thing in Naruto that seems like a Sharingan thing at first, but upon closer inspection, it's just a Sasuke thing. There are at least three (maybe some more instances that I forgot) of Sasuke diving into a subconscious and exerting control that he really shouldn't have

The last one makes it really weird because as we all know, Sasuke did not see Itachi's true self, so it's as if Itachi KNEW Sasuke had this specific bullshit power and was doing the Batman tibetan monk thing to hide his subconscious' true desires which is kinda hilarious to me.

If you want my own little theory? This is because Sasuke is just unnaturally familiar with the concept of "Ninshu" where people can connect chakra to look inside of people's hearts or expose their own heart. After all, he is the character who introduces this concept into the series and a reincarnate of the son of the man who pioneered Ninshu. So, it's not the biggest stretch that he could pair this with his sharingan for even greater control when touching chakra with people. either way it's still kinda silly lol.

I hate romanticizing Itachi's forehead pokes.

And honestly, everytime I see Itachi do it, or Sasuke doing it for Sakura, or Sakura doing it to Sarada, or Sasuke doing it for Boruto, I always feel sick.

Not because I hate Itachi or anything, but from my point of view, I feel it's a symbol of a promise Itachi knew that he can't fulfil. He would tell Sasuke that he'll train with him later, but he never trained with him later, and before he died, he said, maybe next time, but there was no next time.

To me, it's a symbol of tragedy, a symbol of one knowing the horrors of the truth while the other is waiting for the lie to become truth, it was never supposed to be about love.
