Did anyone say ‘Just For Tonight’? So, my jaw is still on the floor after recent developments in this story, and I had to turn it into art. @seasonofthegeek you are a storytelling genius and I love every new chapter you publish. And these two troublemakers are killing me!

you know, being a Riffnita shipper has really put into perspective for me just how lucky those of us with canon ships are. even us reylos get to have endless gifs of their kiss in the third sw film (which shall remain nameless in this house, lest i get sick🤢). but like other folks in the wss fandom who ship Riff x Graziella or Anita x Bernardo get loads of bts photos and footage, let alone content from the actual film. y’all get to have all that, and I’m really happy for you guys, truly! I’m still happy and proud to be a Reylo in spite of all that’s happened because AT LEAST my ship is CANON after all. but with Riff x Anita, a pretty (surprisingly, imo) niche ship with barely two minutes of screen time plus a couple genuinely wonderful instances of Mike and Ariana being cute together at the BAFTAs (shoulder smooch anyone?!?), me and the four (4) other people I know who also ship them (one of whom, as far as I know, isn’t even on Tumblr) really have to create most of our own content, editing together random scenes of the two characters and pretending that they’re looking at each other from across a room or dancing together in the school gym, and for the most part it’s what we put into our fics and Spotify playlists that does most of the creative heavy lifting. Honestly, if I ever find someone who can make halfway decent fan art of those two on this godforsaken hellsite I will cry actual tears of joy!!

Anyways, all this is to say that, those of us who get to have ships with substantial content to work with, PLUS ample individuals in the fandom with creativity to spare, should cherish and celebrate them, because they’re doing god’s work.
