Hi everyone! My name is Chip! This will be a small intro post I will likely replace later, but I wanted to introduce myself!

I am a 15-year-old youth liberationist! The focus of this blog (outside of my rambles about smiley faces) will be about youth liberation! I use any pronouns, and you can call me whatever terms you want.

I don’t set a strict dni, but I will likely block you if you are a Radqueer, Pro-contact, or have any content that makes me uncomfortable. I am anti radqueer and anti contact, and will only focus on youth liberation topics in this blog, nothing radqueer adjacent.

you do not have to want to be a parent or caretaker. but you do have to see children as full human beings with an indisputable and universal right to a safe, healthy, and loving environment in which to grow up. and to be in all the public spaces you are. including the crying baby on the bus, and the toddler on the ipad in the restaurant, and the group of teenagers at the shops who may not be buying anything. and you have to be prepared to be a safe adult in whatever way you can. if you support any social-justice-oriented movement whatsoever—if you profess to be a feminist, or an environmentalist, or anti-carceral, or land back, or antiracist, or anything else—and then say you hate kids, your support for your cause has a great big hole at its center. and this is non-negotiable.

going further and adding that if you cannot extend care and respect to children you do not have my trust as a disabled person. oh, you don’t like that they’re loud, or don’t speak clearly, or cry? that they can’t regulate their bodies and bodily functions or their emotions like you do? that they need help with things you consider basic? that they don’t make money and can’t live on their own? you think it’s okay to hand their rights over to others and throw away the key? you jokingly suggest that they should all just be locked up somewhere far from public sight? the disabled people around you and the people who love us are listening. and we know so much more about what your words mean than you do (and we’ll act accordingly).

"governments and corporations should not be in charge of the internet and restricting it "for the sake of children" is disingenuous and a smokescreen to slip surveillance features under the radar" -> correct. gets to the point. understands that "save the children" is being used as a shield against criticism and isn't the actual intent

"parents should be the ones restricting internet access for their children not corporations. i shouldn't have to give my personal information for the sake of your child" -> no. bad. you are not demanding change. you are just demanding the status quo remain the same but the people in charge of upholding it are some nebulous assortment of individuals instead of large corporations/the government. also children deserve access to the internet as well because they're also people

"internet safety should be taught more often to young people and the dissolution of these sorts of teaching materials should be cause of concern" -> good. addresses that internet safety isn't being taught it as much and that should be frightening. also understands that children deserve to know how to stay safe online without having their autonomy stripped away

"their parents should be the ones to teach internet safety. i shouldn't have to deal with Your Child because you couldn't bother to teach them properly" -> no. bad. again you're just upholding the status quo. expecting parents to accurately teach internet safety is foolish. chances are a child that needs internet safety the most will not get those lessons because the parents in question will not teach them and may even restrict access in leu of actual education. again not changing the status quo just offloading the responsibility

Radqueer means radical queer. Basically it’s accepting of all paraphilias and transids (stuff like trans race, trans eye color, etc)

the problem is with “pro-contact” people, who advocate for sex with kids, animals, corpses, and in some cases, rape. It’s disgusting, and often leads to a ton of abuse.

it’s also just chalk full of people outright ignoring the main points of youth liberation, instead focusing on sexuality of kids. There’s a ton of other stuff, but that’s the jist of it.

weird, your concept of youth liberation doesn’t seem to include creating environments where children can be free from the obligation to sexually gratify adults but is centered around confusing other adults into either condoning sexual abuse or shutting up in the presence of sexual abuse for fear of being seen as rude.

sexual exploitation of children & sexualization of children are both cultural constants. around the world and throughout thousands of years of history. inside and outside of the family. by institutions and adult individuals.

i'll say it again: understanding children as an oppressed class means understanding adults as an oppressor class. not just parents or teachers or the church. ALL adults have structural power over children.

leveraging your power over minors for your own sexual gratification & encouraging complacency from your peers... rhetorically objectifying children so you can do whatever you want with them without social consequences... that's what adults have been doing to kids for-fucking-ever. no iteration of it will ever be liberatory.

they actually don’t usually center the children in these discussions! usually their time is spent warning other adults of what will happen to the poor perpetrator if their behavior is exposed. their chief aim is to prevent perpetrators from self harming or committing suicide once the community becomes aware of their actions— the children themselves are a secondary concern.

in their eyes, the best way to protect perpetrators is to completely prevent all criticism from ever reaching them. being criticized is the exact same as being targeted by an angry puritan mob or being arrested by the police and tried by a court of law— especially if the criticism is coming from a survivor of sexual abuse.

those people are crazy. you’ve seen how much they exaggerate. It’s up to us to protect our brave queer child liberation front from that kind of excessive moralizing.

exactly, i've noticed that too.

though a lot of them on here are also survivors of sexual abuse & use that to justify their behavior. of course, that doesn't do a thing to change the power differential between adults and children. but i've had multiple people claim to me that because they're csa survivors, youthlib is as much for them as it is for actual children. 🫠

i hope you don't mind me jumping in but this reminds me of something i was thinking about a while ago: how there's just this complete (convenient) unwillingness to recognize that no matter what trauma any of us suffered as children, once we reach adulthood we hold systemic power over children, and we can no longer speak for what is best for children based solely off of our own past experiences. and when we attempt to dictate what's best for children from this position of power, while completely obscuring the fact that we hold that power (especially in a way that prioritizes the sexual gratification of adults) is really just transparently such... poor allyship to put it incredibly lightly?

I think y’all need to realize most “puriteens” or young people seemingly obsessed with things being not problematic aren’t intentionally trying to be harmful. They’re callinf out what they think is bad, without knowing it’s not bad beforehand and are acting out of fear for themselves and others.

this is exactly what happened to me, although probably more different; I was obsessed with being pure and morally good due to fear of god, to the point where it did get out of hand. The only way I stopped was by learning more.

You can’t blame these random children online who are oppressed by their parents for not being taught things don’t have to be pure; hell, those parents are probably sayinf things MUST be pure. Blame the parents, not the kids.

i kinda get this and agree it's stupid and unfair to go around talking about "puriteens". especially considering the worst proponents of those types of movements are regular ol adults.

however as a youth liberationist and someone who thinks naturally youth and adults can be intellectually equal and that they should be legally equal (human beings with autonomy)... i don't agree that you should just blame everything bad a minor does on adults. it's just another way of dehumanizing young people to some extent.

parents may want to control, and like to think they control, every aspect of children's lives but they don't. even the most evil and oppressive ones simply don't have enough hours in a day to watch the child 24/7, and children are very very good at finding whatever specks of freedom they can. I don't think giving them the sole credit, even for bad things, is fair to the mental and emotional complexity of young people. yes, parents and other adults can instill/indoctrinate certain ideas into kids or at least try but many kids have the capacity to ignore this indoctrination or even actively notice it for what it is and fight it. not all kids, but not all adults are very good at deprogramming themselves either. I'd argue kids are better even at learning new things and changing their minds and less stubborn on average.

but basically if we are to respect children as human beings equal to adults we should acknowledge that they can choose ignorance and choose to move away from it. if a child is online posting about how evil artists are for posting adult content, then they have the online freedom to see adult content. which means they probably have the freedom to read about history or religion or whatever else as they please. or if they don't like to read, find videos or podcasts about various topics from different perspectives. children aren't dumb! and aren't inherently just going to blindly follow adults. yes they need support and encouragement and sometimes help finding resources as many adults do but at the end of the day they are human and just like all people can be propagandized to, they can also learn better things.

As funny as the baby youtuber trend is, I'm really uncomfortable with the fact that it uses the faces of real babies. No one should have their face used without their consent on the internet, especially with the widespread usage and accessibility of AI, and babies absolutely cannot consent. It's similar to how I feel about otherwise positive and encouraging parenting content that features actual young children---its dangerous. Even if these babies already had their images on the internet, it doesn't mean we should spread it more. They have a right to privacy like anyone else.

I'm not saying anyone participating in or sharing the trend is a bad person, fyi. Just that we should think beyond the fact that its funny.

I got super sick this week due to another kid at school being sick (hope he’s okay), and couldnt do schoolwork and had to go home. I’m in the car rn heading back, but god im worried about my grades. I think I’ll be okay though, probably. If I feel better later in the day I’ll work on schoolwork at home
