angus isnt like famous famous but he is a child working at a renowned magic school so he some fame in the world of magical scholars
a magazine reaches out to him, hes been nominated to be featured on the cover of Arcana Monthly
they do an interview and a photoshoot, ask him about being a boy genius, hes done a couple interviews like it before, its nothing strange.
they send him a copy of the magazine before its released and angus’ stomach drops. he can. not. let. that. magazine. get. out. he tries absolutely everything, calls in nearly every favour he has, but a contracts a contract and he cant do anything about the issue.
the magazine is released and angus isnt seen or heard from for a week. it takes the combined efforts of lup, magnus, kravitz, and barry to coax him out of hiding. they invite him over for dinner, they say to celebrate him getting into probably the most read magic related magazine out there, but also to prove that he has absolutely nothing to worry about
everyone is there at dinner, except one transmutation wizard who told them he would be arriving late. angus is on edge all dinner. he nearly leaped out of his chair when magnus dropped a fork.
theres a knock at the door and angus’ heart stops. lup gets up to get it but the door swings open and a gust of wind bursts through the room. the lights. shut off and a glow comes from outside the door.
taako emerges, small purple flames surround him, his eyes glow with arcane energies. he throws down a copy of the magazine and it lands infront of angus. it catches fire and the last thing angus sees of it is the title “Years Greatest Wizard in Farun: Boy Genius, Angus McDonald.”
taakos voice booms “greatest wizard in farun eh little man?? surpassed me have you?”
“taako please, isnt this a little dramatic” lup says unamused from the corner.
he ignores her and starts towards angus
angus jumps from his chair and prepares a counter spell. “i didnt know thats what the interview was for, obviously im still learning, i could never match youre wizardly magics” his voice is shaking
taako looms over angus, standing a full head taller than him. angus accepts death at this point, he had a pretty good run. he braces.
taako reaches out and pulls him into a hug. the lights go back on and the wind stops blowing. “good work kiddo, i knew if i nominated you for that magazine youd totally win” he pulls out of the hug and rustles angus’ hair.
angus looks petrified, like he just barely escaped death. taako turns to the dinner table nonchalantly and asks “so what are we havin?”
