If you asked me like 6 years ago who my favorite character was I'd probably struggle between Tommy and Benrey, but sometime 2 years ago it feels like my brain finally updated and I've unlocked newfound levels of thought <- guy describing growing up

I just keep pacing around the room about him. He occupies my brain so much now. He's so freaking. I don't want it to sound like I'm talking about a bug in a terrarium but, fascinating!!! A thought that's already been retreaded by countless people I imagine but like, God. What kind of person is this guy that after everything he'd gone through he'd still come back for more! Is he really so lonely he'll return to the hell-scape that is the VR realm? Which depending on who you ask can accurately replicate real life pain? Allow for whatever the freaking, Gnome Incident was??? Did he genuinely return because of Coomer's message or from some very deep seated morbid curiosity that wouldn't leave him no matter how much he avoided The Headset. He's been confirmed to have retained PTSD in the fallout of the first series... Dude. Is his Justin.tv just doing really bad and he needs to rekindle the series that initially helped him pay rent? Okay that ones mostly a joke but God imagine if he's still streaming this within the meta. Imagine. All questions we're definitely not getting the answers for cause the player isn't the focal point of this series but DANG IT I'll be asking them anyway!

It feels like since the first series his attitude has changed ever so slightly, the guise of this just being a game he's playing falling instantly, he cares and forms bonds with these guys. He cares so much about Stain, he values the respect from Xar, The Girl, he reluctantly tries to not give up on Christopher. He's really grown to start seeing these characters as actual people beyond video game simulations. Not that he didn't love the OG science team, his escapades with them are certainly why he has this attitude now. But their rendezvous was certainly shorter and, well, simpler. And seemingly a closed topic! I mean, they defeated the big bad, that should've been it! Now he has to contend with the fact that a place he created revolved without him for years, there are serious things at play at least partially due to his own actions. And he no longer has the benefit of the doubt of the people in this world being nothing but mindless automatons in his eyes.
