The #1 PlayStation 2 emulator, PCSX2, recently received a significant update. It was practically re-written from the ground up! And it now uses a similar UI as DuckStation. You can grab it from its homepage: https://pcsx2.net/

One improvement that I quickly noticed was PCSX2 no longer shows obstructive artifacts when you upscale the resolution. Now it just works.
