so grace is probably alarming to most eridians at first because he's a lanky wet alien with too few limbs, yes--but what if he ends up being terrifying in a sort of divine way instead of a repulsive one?

This bill is fucking disgusting and transphobic. Its an attack on trans rights. Gender and sex are not the same thing and the bill aims to legally make the two the same thing. My gender is none of the government's business. Me being non binary has minimal relevance to the government.

It also potentially can affect abortion access.

In NZ, an adult is anyone 20 or older. Abortion legislation uses the word women. Here is a quote direct from the government legislation website

A qualified health practitioner may only provide abortion services to a woman who is more than 20 weeks pregnant if the health practitioner reasonably believes that the abortion is clinically appropriate in the circumstances.

Currently there is no minimum age for accessing abortion care. This bill could change that by making it so only anyone 20 or older could get an abortion.

Even if you support the main meat of the bill, even if you don't like trans people. If you are pro choice, you need to make a submission against the bill. You need to care more about keeping abortion rights than dogging on trans people. You need to care about the rights of people you disagree with, because all it takes is changing the definition of one word to take away your rights too.
