The thing is you can have a grassy lawn or even a golf course without it being an ecological disaster, you just have to a: be cool about having the occasional non-grass plant in the mix and b: be willing to live in a climate that supports grass without irrigation.

I always thought that golf as a sport should be adapted to the local native landscape. I think this will encourage regional pride when local golfers completely trounce visitors at Swamp Golf, Desert Golf, Forest Golf, etc. Rich tourists will be pressured to travel extensively to experience all forms of golf, instead of staying in their backyard country club golf courses. Internet discourse will probably somehow get worse but I think this is a small price to pay.

i sent an anon here not long ago talking about being treated poorly in a fandom discord server for calling out random blatant antisemitism, and how i was worried about it, and how i wish i could find other jews in fandom spaces or with similar interests. well, update, they kicked me from the server. antisemitism or any other discource has not been mentioned at all since then, not around me anyway. i played normal. i played good. i didnt say anything. i was nice. i didnt talk to the most prominent antisemite there after and thats it. and they still kicked me. you know what did change between then and then kicking me? adding the star of david to my bio.

i messaged a few mods i was mutuals with from the server to ask why i was kicked. i know the answer already but i want to hear them admit it. of course its been hours and theyve been online the whole time but nobody has replied to me, naturally.

it sucks. i really thought a lot of those people were cool and was giving them the benefit of the doubt. but i have none of it left in me. im not naive enough to pretend like i dont know their true intentions every time someone treats me or my fellow jews this way.

That scene between Robby and Donnie is so important. He lets Donnie go home to his wife and baby and asks him not to tell anyone because he knows it's unfair. He himself said Santos and Whitaker shouldn't have to do all the digitizing themselves, that's why he was asking Donnie to stay. But he lets him go and checks that he's okay to drive home. This is the kind of boss Robby usually is. That's why everyone in the ED holds him in high regard. He's earned a lot of loyalty and love from these people over the years. We get so few glimpses of the person Robby used to be and I live for them. This might be the clearest one yet.
