sometimes u headcanon a character as a sexuality but then also ship things that contradict that. sometimes you ship things you would NEVER EVER want in canon. this is because these things are fun and silly and not legally binding.

Sometimes I think I've got bad opinions about tabletop RPGs, and then I run into some fucker in the replies on one of my posts sincerely arguing that having a pronouns slot on your character sheet is "performative" and I'm reminded that everything is relative.

(Weirdly, their reasoning wasn't that it's pandering, but that people who need to be explicitly told that they're allowed to pick any pronouns they want for their character don't play the kinds of games where pronoun fuckery is appropriate in the first place!)

I mean that's all well and good but even if we accepted the premise that gender fuckery doesn't happen in more mainstream games, it seems like it's still a useful bit of information for the DM and other players who might need to refer to the character by their pronouns? Seems a lot more likely to be a useful piece of information to reference than height or weight.

A reminder though people: this kind of concoction (and sports drinks) are for replenishing electrolytes along with the water, which is necessary when you're dehydrated because of sweating. When you're dehydrated just from living, or from something like vomiting or diarrhea, water will do a better job at hydrating you than these will.

They'll all work for getting your hydration levels up, of course-- like even when the ingredients have diuretic properties, the drinks have much more water in them than they absorb unless you're outright drinking salt water--but different options will get the job done faster and with less drinking needed (and of course, cheaper, if you can just drink water).

there's no blinding for open label placebo, no other medications, it's a completely empty capsule. you know it's fake, and you still take it on a fixed schedule, so it's like...the "ritual" of medicine is the thing that makes you feel better

There's actually a lot of evidence that the placebo effect works even if you know it's a placebo, so I assume they're studying that phenomenon and trying to figure out which part is the key factor.
