I’ve always wanted to do book reviews here but I can’t review a book for shit, or movies. I love them and I know how I feel about them I just hate putting it into words. It’s different than analysis for me.

But anyways I am about 100 pages into The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen and I really enjoy it so far! I’m excited for the direction it’s going in. I specifically love how it has addressed the strange way in which society is more shocked by graphic depictions of sex vs graphic depictions of violence. And of course I do find the narrators writing style very charming. Maybe I’ll give an update of how I feel when I finish!

I am whatever the opposite of a speed runner is. I am a game meanderer. I have to look at literally everything. I am overly cautious in every way. I forget to pause and wander away from the game. I take a minimum 7 hours to get through any given level. If you give me a timer I will cry.

Something that I really hope (but probably won’t get) for The Creep Tapes is more Angela. Because it’s so overlooked the fact that Josef has someone in his life?? That,

1, he HASNT killed.

2. Actually reaches out to him? And knows his bullshit?

I am just so curious about her. I want to know what SHE knows, if she’s a liar like he is or if she’s the only person ever in this universe to have a genuine clue on what he’s like.

I’m not very hopeful that she’ll be included though because Mark Duplass’s directorial stuff is not very plot heavy, so she could just fade into an obscure plot hole. But dear god I hope they somehow figure out how to incorporate more of her in the creep tapes without ruining the atmosphere of the movies. Because she could be so interesting or she could be nothing.

But either way I have so much hope for the series!! My faith rests heavy in the duo to make a fucking phenomenal work especially since Mark has said that he wished Creep 2 turned out better.

Oh my goooshhh I love local movie theaters. It’s genuinely such a privilege to have access to an arthouse theater that actually has active community around it. I don’t think I could move anywhere without that being an option at this point. I need my $13 interactive screenings.
