@13-percent
lot of people are going to be sent careening three posts down their dash and crashing into a brick wall because of this post
ARE YOU TODAY’S DATE?
BECAUSE YOURE 10/10
i’ve waited one year to reblog this
okay 23 minutes of relaxing time
accidentally made it 14 hours
I keep seeing people use this image as a reaction to people's original posts:
Which I think is really incorrect, because with an original post they haven't come up to ur window, u've come up to their window.
So I made this, as a more accurate reaction for original posts:
Everyone. Please. Write "fuck." "Damn." "Shit." "Motherfucker." Don't fucking censor. Don't write f*** when you mean fuck. Let's not encourage censorship. Let's recognize when we are participating in censorship and self-censorship. You don't have to censor your words on tumblr. You don't have to censor your stories on AO3. Please. Please. Write out the word "fuck."
If you personally don't like the word? Then there's no need to write it. If you are writing a story and you know the character curses and you don't feel comfortable writing it? Write "Character cursed." No reason to disrupt the writing, infantalize the writing, and create an ugly piece of work by writing "Character said, 'F***!'"
We can all handle the word "fuck." Please, please, just write out "fuck." I don't know what you're trying to get out of "f***" but I promise, it's not going to have the effect you want. If you really hate the word "fuck," feel free to be creative and insert another fun word. Anything but "f***."
what's a tumblr influencer? what am i influencing? my mental illness? 😭
The ides of March is coming up what’s everyone getting me?
i never understood how we’ve reinvented heiroglyphics until now
Cooking at a friend or relative’s house is very fun first you have to get out not that cabinet not that cabinet not that cabinet not that cabinet not that cabinet not that cabinet a bowl and second
If you had been born in caveman times, would you have lived to your current age*?
I would’ve never been born (pregnancy complications)
I would’ve died as a baby
I would’ve died as a toddler
I would’ve died as a child
I would’ve died as a preteen
I would’ve died as a teen
I would’ve made it to adulthood! and then died.
I’d probably be alive but it would Fucking Suck
I’d be alive and it would be eh okay
I’d be alive and well, hunting berries, gathering mammoths, thriving :)
*this is just about having medical needs that would have meant death without modern medicine, so no ‘I’d probably die from not being able to distinguish the blur as a lion’ we have a healthy caveman squad who cares for each other, we just also dont have, yknow, penicilin. etcetera.
pls reblog for sample size etc
follow for more occasional useless polls :)
POC ONLY: When it comes to representation in media do you prefer your characters of color to have their culture written into their character?
yes
no
other? (pls explain in tags)
I ask this because I remember reading the book Criers' War (I ended up DNF'ing bc the writing style was not for me). But I do remember the 2 leads being described with non-white physical features but the author never added anything else to show that they were non-white so I had a hard time imagining them as being so.
And that reminded me of The Jasmine Throne where the characters are also described as non-white but because this is an Indian based fantasy world and you get to see nods to that culture through things like the language, foods, dress, etc. I had no time seeing these women as Indian women.
But I am also reminded of Sydney Adamu from The Bear and how on screen, her culture isn't really being shown. But because I can see that she is Black woman, I can also see the layers added to her character and her story of trying to gain respect from running and eventually opening a restaurant. Even though those layers are not explicitly said on screen.
Anyways I hope this makes sense. Please feel free to reblog for more results!
Also I know that some white person is gonna ask: yes y'all can reblog but don't be adding shit. I do not care about your opinion on POC representation.
I love memetic communication when it gets to the point of being incomprehensible because can you imagine showing someone this picture
And asking them what Greek god it represents
#my favourite part is the people in the notes being like 'the god of children's hospitals' to be contrary#because the ball is Red#bc like. do. do they know what one of Apollo's areas of Being The God Of This Thing are?#healing and diseases#also he's like#the god of Youths#so like.yeah.#Apollo IS the god of children's hospitals actually Via @mothmammoth
hate what people did to the dead dove tag
mothers and fuckers of the jury. "Dead dove: do not eat" is a label on a bag in the fridge. It means "the content of this bag is exactly what is labeled". It does not mean "trigger warning uhhh something". In fact, it means the exact opposite of "trigger warning uhhh something", because tou use it with other tags. You write a fucked up fic with extreme violence and gore, you tag it as "extreme violence", "gore" and you tag it with "dead dove: do not eat". You write a fic with emotional abuse, gaslighting and manipulation, you tag it with "emotional abuse", "gaslighting" and "dead dove: do not eat". You write a fic with your extremely niche kink that appeals to like 3 other people and may skeeve out the rest of the fandom, you tag that with your kink and "dead dove: do not eat". It's so people know you're really mean the content warnings.
It's NOT a catch-all term for "uhhh this may be fucked idk". TAG YOUR SHIT GENEROUSLY.
It also does not mean "the most fucked-up filth I can possibly imagine." Nowadays I see people say "I'm writing a dead dove fic, teehee!" as a way of saying that they're writing something that is filled with the most horrific stuff they can imagine. Which is not what dead dove actually means! Dead dove simply means that your fic contains exactly what the tags say it contains.
