"I'm looking respectfully" well can you look at me like you're dying of a fever. like you're delirious and it hurts. like you're fighting desperately for your life.
What are you even supposed to eat for dinner
And it’s like. Like it’s everyday girls.
"I'm still kicking" is such a funny way to say "I'm still alive". Like lol. I'm still thrashing. Flailing. Writhing even. The violence remains.
I will not take any questions
Toni Morrison at Howard University as Queen Elizabeth in Shakespeare’s “Richard III."
I’m ready to be transformed by the ibuprofen . I’m ready to be born again in its purifying light.
great minds think of dykes
Have you in your career felt underappreciated or underrated as an artist? (x)
You need to start moisturizing before it's too late. I'm not talking about wrinkles or any of that nonsense. Winter is fucking coming you need to grease up or you are going to dry out like a raisin. It's too late for me but you can still save yourself. Please don't end up like me
Guys it's actually so dire please for the love of God start moisturizing right fucking now. I just put on lotion and my skin sucked it up before I could even rub it in we are in fucking crisis mode
frankly i feel absolutely no, probably even negative, kinship with childfree people who hate children lol that’s not why i’m childfree… i’m actually childfree because i love and respect children enough to know that i am not the kind of person to give them the kind of childhood and parent they rightfully deserve
Everyone say thank you american indigenous people for cultivating corn, potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, cacao, pumpkin, squash, and anything i missed. Makes life more meaningful globally
Yes actually I will not shut up about how these foods are from the Americas/cultivated by the people there, and did NOT exist in Asia, Africa or Europe before the 1490s, there was an absolute food revolution going on in the 1500s. Whatever you think is traditional food for your country? Check again, you’ve maybe only been using that ingredient for maybe 500 years. Here is the full list of crops, it is very interesting :))
Melvin Sokolsky - “First Kiss” (New York Times Magazine 1969)
This is Rita Hester. Rita was born in 1963, in Hartford, Connecticut. She loved rock music, food, and dancing. She often holidayed in Greece. She had a pet cat, and a boa constrictor.
In 1998, Rita was murdered. In 1999, Transgender Day of Remembrance was founded in her honour.
Today we mark Transgender Day of Remembrance and remember Rita, and everyone else who has been murdered because of transphobic violence.
“Years ago a friend of mine had a dream about a strange invention; a staircase you could descend deep underground, in which you heard recordings of all the things anyone had ever said about you, both good and bad. The catch was, you had to pass through all the worst things people had said before you could get to the highest compliments at the very bottom. There is no way I would ever make it more than two and a half steps down such a staircase, but I understand its terrible logic: if we want the rewards of being loved we have to submit to the mortifying ordeal of being known.”
— I Know What You Think of Me, Tim Kreider for the New York Times
after YEARS of seeing this quote online and finding it to be the most deeply and resoundingly profound writing i finally found the source article and absolutely nothing could prepare me for this opening paragraph
Okay but the whole article is really interesting and also contains this quote which I’ve never heard before but really like:
“Anyone worth knowing is inevitably also going to be exasperating”
i really do need to make gay art
ai this ai that how about we invent a printer that works first
