I very strongly agree with Haris's positive and negative point of view of social media. All what he said is true, not a lot to comment about. Of course, looking at social media in the positive side, it has created an educational environment around the world. not only for our level, but for higher levels such as university students who firmly stick to the internet in case needed in a research on whatever subject. The idea that we can use Tumblr for posting our assignments online affected my negative point of view on social media. The idea that the teachers appreciates that this new era totally depends on social media and the style of books and notebooks became no more interesting learning environment, is absolutely wonderful.

What is your overall point of view on justice or reputation? Has it changed from before you started the unit? If so, how? If not, why? Write TWO paragraphs.

Honestly, my point of view on justice and reputation haven't changed a lot. The idea of justice was and is always simple and straightforward to me. Justice is necessary in every country, place, action, and a re-action. People strive for justice, work hard for it, sacrifice their own land and force their self to find a place and build a proper life in a place that justice in achieved in. According to what the philosophers agree on, which is to teach yourself to act the same way you want the world to look like. Well, this is the hard part, the nature of human beings tend to know the best but not achieving it even if they know exactly how to reach that achievement. There is no much other solution for that problem but repeating the same exact concept repeatedly until the whole world start moving on the right track.

Writing about reputation rapidly, somehow changed my view on it. Before starting this unit, I thought that what people think of me is not important at all. However, this is not always true, as I eventually discovered, that what people think of me or my “reputation’’ is actually important and is something that I should take as a concern. As I was reading one of the articles about reputation during this unit, I knew that the reputation of a person is what he needs to succeed in a living. I then had no doubt that reputation was important in life. That is exactly why clever people who have a bad reputation in a specific place, totally immigrant to a totally different place to build up a new, successful, and fulfilling reputation.

1) How has your opinion of social media changed doing this project? Some people look at social media in a negative way- how can you argue that it can be useful AND educational?

In general, I find that social media's negative field is stronger than the positive one. In that post, I will argue about some positive options social media serves. As I mentioned in my previous posts, social media has made our interaction with people around the world a lot easier. Popular websites such as Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter are useful ways to spread an idea around the world and convince millions of people (if it was actually convincing). When using our Tumblr assignment as an example, social media is educational and is helpful in creating a learning system/environment.

Okay, maybe I have been a little oppressive about the fact that social media has more negative side. In fact, social media enables the teachers to create a fully independent learning environment for the students even if they were at home. In this new modern age, people almost fully depend on social media to use in their life. Now a days, any idea that pops in someone's head the first thing he does is search it on Google and find out everything about it. After putting my effort in this Tumblr project, I honestly acknowledge that social media also has a positive side. So instead of thinking that social media has only a negative side, but changing my view on social media to see that social media has positive and a negative side. As I mentioned, social media can be educational through making researches on whatever aspect, and is useful in our daily life. Also, social media is known to be used for motivating, informing, or/and arguing.

As you listen to the tone of the music, you will realize that it is a sad tone. I chose this tone to take place in a specific scene in the piano lesson when Doaker was telling the story of the piano and how the family were being sold back and forth like toys. The other main idea that made the tone sad in this scene is that Doaker mentioned how did his brother and Boy Willie's father (Boy Charles) die after he took the piano from Sutter's house in order to revive the history of the whole family. He was then found dead in a boxcar without anyone knowing who killed him. Of course, this is sad for Boy Willie and sad for all of the American history because it shows how cheap was the blood of the African American people during the racial discrimination time.

Boy Willie: "Uncle Doaker tell me your mama got you playing that piano."

The idea that Berniece doesnt actually play the piano and then wants her daughter, Maretha, to learn the piano is contradicting. Up to act one in the book(what i read), the author never clarified his purpose in that action. Instead , I can use my ''wise'' sense to predict his purpose. Supposedly, the author meant that Berniece wanted to leave the spirit of the piano to rest but somehow, still wants to be connected to it in a way(through her daughter). Its also interesting that Berniece doesnt want to sell the piano when she's not playing on it. The reason behind that was that the piano symbolized her family's history and she thought that its her role to be proud of it and to be loyal and leave it run for generations.

In my opinion, I do love the idea of doing a weekly assignment on Tumblr rather than doing it during class time. But, and only but, our lovely teacher gave us more time to do the assignments since she knows that our small empty minds dont handle bunches of assignments all in once, Putting in mind that we have other subjects to take care off. In general, I found that the Tumblr idea is enthusiastic! I found it much more interesting than normal daily in-class essay/paragraph writings. Since we, as students, were doing the exact same ideas along our academic years, this year we had special, creative, and caring teachers who made up this idea that pointed to our benefits. Although, i think that those assignments hugely improved my writing skills. Again, I would love to send my special thanks to our lovely teachers who worked in improving our skills. Finally, I dont think that there is a better social media that we can post our assignments on... The closest idea may be twitter but since it has more advertisement then it would decrease our focus on the work we are doing.

the piano lesson in two different mediums

The piano lesson is represented in two different mediums, a movie and a novel. I think that this is a positive thing toward the movie, in which it makes it more interesting to read or watch. As we all know, in this age, most people would rather watch a movie than reading a novel and would get involved in the movie way more than the novel. Obviously, this fact attracts more audiences to watch the movie and gets more possibility of the audience reading the novel, which all falls toward the author's benefits. Though the novel and the movie have the same ideas and same plot and author but there are always some differences between the novel and the movie for an unknown reason. There are many differences in the details of the novel from the movie (in the piano lesson) and one of them is that when Boy willie and Lymon arrived to Doaker's house: in the novel they stayed outside and the whole conversation took place outside. While in the movie, they came in the house as soon as they arrived to the place.

I have read the novel called The Book Thief and watched it as a movie. I was freaking shocked! The highest dramatic point that the novel got to was deleted in the movie. I was counting seconds while watching the movie waiting for the scene to come up, but it never did. That kind of disappointed me so I decided to never watch a novel and its movie at the same time. Well, now thats the negative side of having two mediums for a story which, as a result, causes the author to lose his audience. (but when its too late) :)

I agree with Kemal's point of view about the positive side of social media. Though, with all respect to Kemal's ideas and thoughts and all good intentions, I wanna argue about few points that didnt really persuade me. he stated that " it only helps let us know what’s going on in the world and it also allows us to keep in touch with family...''. Instead, social media also decrease our communication with people. So instead of personally talking to each other we preferred chatting together rather than meeting. That decreased our communication which is a negative thing that we dont give attention to.

Also, I want to argue about saying that it didnt ruin kids or have a bad influence on them. I strongly believe that social networking does have a bad influence on kids. After my experience with my smaller sister, I state that social networking literally eats kid's minds. Hour following another, and still freezing on the same website or chatting with a person to go to another. This is an absolute waste on time and as a result, A bad influence on kids.

A lesson grade 10 should be taught

An important lesson grade ten students should be taught is communication of people. I think that the administration should create a whole subject for the whole school to study not the tenth grade only. Learning how to communicate with people is a must for people to learn. Life is always known by its killing cruelty, it rarely gives people chances neither choices. If we didnt learn how to deal with people that we see in the future from the tenth grade, then we will lose and we will be in trouble since most cruel people took advantages of us since we didnt know how to deal with them in the first place. Another main reason for learning how to communicate with people is basically because most of life's aspects depend on how good we can communicate and deal with people, such as: jobs, friends, marriage..etc.

In my opinion, this picture represents justice in the piano lesson. Both sides are arguing until they find the right solution that satisfies both of them. It also represents justice because not a single action was taken until both sides accepted since this piano is the right of both Boy Willie and Berniece by the principle of inheritance. In addition, no actions were taken from the strong side against the weak side (violently).

The picture revealed to us that that the inheritance is equal to men and women, because everything is distributed by justice. To link this picture with our story, lets say that the inheritance is the piano, and it is now distributed equally between Berniece and Boy Willie, there is no right for any of them to do anything to the piano unless both of them accept the agreement. This is the main issue in the story, Boy Willie want to sell the piano and Berniece refused.

i agree with you Omar... Still inheritance has nothing to do with the rights of both genders. So in all other cases in life they have equal rights. Dont mix up between them.

Berniece: "[The Sheriff] might be looking for [Lymon] about that truck. He might have stole that truck. […]" Doaker: "Now they might have stole them watermelons, but I don't believe they stole that truck."

We notice that Both Berniece and Doaker have claimed that Boy Willie and Lymon have stolen either the truck or the watermelons. They both denied these actions and showed total innocence but Berniece still insisted. This shows injustice against Boy Willie and Lymon since they barely see them or have any poof. As a result, the play allows us to stay suspicious of knowing the truth

CASTING

Oprah: I chose Oprah to take Berniece's character due to her strong personality and reputation. Operah always shows her strong personality in her interviews and her persuading way of speaking, while Berniece showed her strong personality in act 1 in the piano lesson since she never gave up her right in selling the piano and insisted on keeping it.

Will Smith: I chose Will Smith as a character in the pursuit of happiness to represent Boy Willie. He was known by his insistence on achieving his desire or goal through hard work. On the other hand, Boy Willie shows hard work and taking life seriously by insisting to sell the piano to win money and make money selling the watermelons. Also, they both are known by their good reputation.

Eddy Morphy: I chose Eddy morphy to cast Lymon's character because they both share the same way of thinking in being mysterious and somehow cruel. Also, they both show loyalty and respect to others.

GEORGETOWN, Texas — A Texas man has been sentenced to prison after bragging about an assault during a softball game that left a man with brain damage. The least thing the government must do is to keep this guy in prison or else no justice is maintained and no human right are protected anymore. I agree that justice is applied in the following case since the criminal has ended in what he deserved after assaulting an innocent man in a sport game in which he had shown no sportsmanship during the game.

Since the development of social media the world has been easier to connect to and it has also been a lot more efficient. The invention of such means has not only helped the common people communicate faster it has also made raising awareness for something a easier job. Ads and publicising campaigns have made the transfer of word quicker thus helping raise incomes for companies and efficiency for social help organisations like the red crescent.

Social media has had one of the largest impacts on the lives of people they have become very connected to friends and family has transfer of opinions, greetings, and ideas have been streamlined in to a easier and more reliable way of communication.

I totally agree with Shaleen's point of view in which he stated that social media made a large impact on people's life in which it enables us to communicate easily through social networking websites rather than meeting in a place together to discuss something which is much harder and almost useless in these days. Also, in business wise, as he stated it has been much easier to transfer, investigate, raise incomes, or find jobs through social media.
