I wanted to make another about me post, as this marks me switching up my art style. Iβve been excited to do this for ages and Iβve been practicing heaps, and I think Iβm ready to start challenging myself with art in a whole new way. So I thought, why not make a whole new intro post, as some things have changed, and I also have a few more people on my page. βΊοΈ
Hi! Iβm Abby! Iβm 21 (22 in September) and I am from Australia! I love all things art and craft, animals, music, disney, fangirl and anything sparkly! π«Άπ»
I have loved drawing and doing art since I was really little. I remember at primary school spending more time drawing and colouring in my worksheets, than actually doing the assigned tasks! I also won my schools art competition in 2012 which guess what, it was a mermaid with a rainbow. Clearly nothings changed!
I have a condition called βVenous Malformationβ (VM), which causes tumours made of veins to grow in my knee. I got my first tumour in 2021 and as of today Iβve had 4 surgeries and 3 procedures on my knee. My tumour has been taken out and grown back 3 times and Iβve had chemo injections in my tumour twice. After almost 5 years of my tumours growing and repeatedly getting them surgically removed, my condition is finally in a stable place. However from all the trauma my leg has endured, Iβve been left with a likely permanent disability. Iβm unable to walk on my own and use a wheelchair to get around. (though Iβm working super hard to use my crutches more) Iβve also been left with chronic pain syndrome which is likely here to stay. π©Ό
Iβm a huge swiftie, I love Gracie and Iβm a massive Disney lover! I love listening to my massive Spotify playlist while I draw, my favourite song ever is Haunted from Speak Now and I love Disney movies! My favourite Disney princess is Ariel, as it has been since I was 4 years old. My first love for music came around when I would watch hi-5 non stop as a child. And since then Iβve loved anything music/dance. πΆ
I really fell in love with practicing and doing art since I had to quit dance due to my leg condition, and doing art was something that I loved that didnβt require mobility. It really helps me when Iβm in pain to distract, and when Iβm unable to leave the house. Itβs something I can do without having to be super mobile, I love it. π¨
I canβt wait to keep growing with my new art that Iβm working on! Iβm so excited to see where this will take me. I love being creative with art and I hope others will like it too! π
