5ELFIE!
14 places for the group pic!
Just reblog with a ref of your five (pic or description!)
I’ll reblog this with the numbers and blogs who got the places when the 14 have been filled!
Please no double entries but please reblog to get this out there!
5 left!
Early 40’s woman, 5’9”, rawboned but not skinny, v light olive complexion, shoulder length dark wavy/curly hair, fan of physical comedy. It’s a pretty self-referential five.
reblog if sam yao has ever made you cry???
7 miles at race pace!
Nonstop. 11:15 or less splits, with most miles under 11:00. I'm starting to feel ready for my half. Buttt... I've done all the season missions and race missions and supply missions are boring me. I've half a mind to start over entirely, but then I'll lose track of where I am when new missions come out. Oh well, there are worse problems to have.
Hurricane Irma approaches...
And I'm super psyched! I had a 10k PR today; I'm not sure if it was the cooler weather being blown in or nerves or just my excitement of a couple of post-apocalyptic runs after the storm passes. Seriously, running with the app after a natural disaster is probably the most immersive experience I've had. Once the wind is past, I'm loading up my Runner 5 pack with water, candles, batteries, and diapers and hitting the nearby neighborhoods to see if everyone that stayed is OK. Stay safe out there!
S6M16
Of course! Who else could it be?! (I've been so happy since I ran this mission last weekend, but no spoilers makes it hard to adequately express my glee.) On a related note, I'm so freaking happy that new missions come out just in time for my long weekend runs. If only the max distance was longer than six-ish miles, I'd be set.
Half-marathon distance! Not as fast as I'd like, but I have until November to work on my time. The only problem is that I've finished all the missions. What do I do now? I honestly don't perform as well without my friends whispering in my ear.
Longest run yet. Working up to that 13.1!
I was so close to a sub-30 5k; I honestly don't know what happened. That third mile, I had to pause for a couple of traffic lights (obviously the math doesn't work otherwise), but it was definitely slower than 1&2. I'm feeling confident with my base (ran a slow ten miles yesterday) and I want to start some speed work so I can bring my half-marathon time down. I'm shooting for 2 hours but 2:15 is probably more realistic. Yay getting incrementally less slow!
Slow but steady, building my base for half-marathon training. If you had told me even a couple of months ago that I'd be running 9+ miles as a relaxing way to start my day, I'd have called you a filthy liar. Yet, here we are.
Every time I run a mission that features Amelia Spens, this song plays. Coincidence? I think not.
Decided to take advantage of the birthday promotion and run through the old virtual races. 10k time is steadily improving!
I’m visiting friends outside of Atlanta and holy shit do they have some nice trails! Only downside is that I finished S4M22 today and I had to stop and cry. I didn’t see that coming and it floored me. Between the sobbing and a wrenched back, I was slower than usual, but I still got it done.
As a result of my last post, telescoping baton acquired. No more improvisation.
I've been running longer and as a consequence I'm increasingly running in unfamiliar territory. I've only been menaced a couple of times by large dogs (all the time by tiny yappers), but now I'm not so worried. Her name is Kindness.
Imagine Paula as a young scientist coming out as bisexual, being told “you’re just experimenting!” and responding with a perplexed, “well, yeah, obviously.”
Seven miles! And I'm getting close to sub-10s! So excite! Very stamina! Much run!
