Had a lot of fun with this ^^
Handsome and with cool fire!
My party is stranded in an abandoned settlement that has been stripped of all wildlife. Our gnome artificer is adamant that he will build a cart and our monk and bard will bring back something to pull it. They return to the settlement being chased by a starving owlbear.
Gnome: I throw salted meat in front of it
DM: it’s starving, so it stops to eat the meat
Half-elf Bard: Uh… I cast Friends?
DM: It’s starving and you’re food, so you have disadvantage. Anyone want to help him?
Goblin Warlock (me): I take out my bagpipes and try to mimic the noises baby owlbears make!
DM: oooohkay… roll for it
*We both nat 20*
DM: There’s food, you’re not hurting it, and someone is playing the owlbear version of Cat’s In The Cradle. You’re all weirdly emotional. You have tamed an owlbear as long as you keep the food coming.

Been seeing Nirvana Fallacy-spouting idiots on the left whining about Biden a lot, so I’m just going to put this here:
In essence, since the US Government is a deeply corrupt and violent institution–which I do agree with–defeating Trump and electing Biden is not worthy of celebration, because Biden is not perfect. Ergo, the person argues, we should stop celebrating Trump’s loss.
This is stupid.
We know that Biden is not perfect. But saying that we shouldn’t celebrate the defeat of a fascist and attempted dictator because his replacement isn’t perfect and ideal is absurd, and that sort of self-defeating attitude isn’t worth engaging with.
The fight isn’t over. There is going to be a lot of work going forward. It is going to be messy and brutal and exhausting.
And that’s exactly why people SHOULD take a day or two to be happy and celebrate.
Relax, recharge, blast some music, put on your mask and go dance in the streets. We worked really hard for this and we deserve to be glad that we got to win one.

A very serious question: why the hell are showline GSDs *like that*?? And you said that there are people who genuinely believe that this is the most efficient breed in their trot? I mean, I'll give them flashy... But efficient? Seriously? Then how come wild canines, which are the product of a hundred thousand years of evolution, don't have an extremely sloped back and weird wobbly cow hocks? (Sorry for the saltiness. Showline GSDs freak me out tbh.)
I am not a GSD person, so any GSD people forgive me/educate me further, but it is my understanding that the “flying trot” that GSDs have is to cover the most ground with a few steps as possible to make the dog a “steady and well lubricated machine” capable of doing its original job as a herder which imo is ridiculous since the German Shepherd Dog itself descends from general European herding dogs that also gave rise to the Berger Picard and other rarer herding breeds in Italy and none of those dogs use a flying trot. Literally it is the only dog in the herding group that moves the way it does and its way of movement is so distinct that the standard has a massive paragraph about the minutia of the correct way it should move, but the modern GSD in itself is pretty far removed from its herding heritage.
Nor is the flying trot an efficient form of movement. Truly the reasonings for it to cover ground in as few steps as possible sounds exactly like the random bullshit that all 19th century dog fanciers came up with to justify their breeding decisions (many of these still enshrined in breed standards btw, take for example the English Bull dog and how its wrinkled head is supposedly to “flow blood from the bull away from its eyes’ something we know is absolute crap bc bull baiting dogs didn’t look like the English Bulldog and many hog dogs perform similar gory tasks and that sort of muzzle, smooshed and short, is useless).
Excluding wild canines, whom have naturally evolved to have efficient movement, if one really wishes to see the domestic dogs that can cover the most ground in as little effort as possible one should look at long distance Alaskan Huskies and the way they move. They use very little energy, their trot is smooth and fast, but they’re not extending themselves out so far like in a flying trot. These are dogs that can go ALL day, pulling weight, for MANY days in a row, at record speeds. Just check out this video from Iditarod 2020 and see what i’m talking about. Years of observing correct movement in sled dogs and how it pertains to their working ability just really YEETS that concept that the flying trot is for efficiency and for working ALL day out the window. While I have no doubt that working bred GSD, whom are less exaggerated, could go a considerable distance, I have no hesitation in saying that any dog with a flying trot would absolutely struggle to go all day (sometimes 30+ miles a day) for a week or more on end like long distance sled dogs.

a bisexual guy in Spain has to pay his ex wife 3000€ in “damages” because he didn’t disclose his bisexuality to her.
the fucking bitch of a judge justifies the sentence with him having “deliberately concealed his homosexuality” which apparentlyconstitues as “fraud”.
I AM SCREAMING!
some assholes on tungle dot com in the year 2020: biphobia isn’t real the ex wife of this guy and this bitch ass judge: hold our beers
here are two German articles on the matter (1) (2) and here the only English one I could find so far (3)
Apparently they got divorced NINE YEARS AGO in mutual agreement, but this person decided to ask for money now, also the articles in Spanish I’ve seen said he has to pay 10 000 euros, not 3, idk if we got our sources wrong.
The man, Javier, has clearly stated he is bisexual and that he thought he was straight by the time they got married, but that (obviously) none of that affected the relationship in any way.
According to an article i found (linked below in spanish) he is “43 years old and he is lucky to have never had to fake a relationship, but a lot of people have, and not for the sake of deceiving. They’re victims of a society that doesn’t recognize diversity in love.”
It’s absolutely awful, not only because he was basically ignored every single time he has said he is bi, but also because i didnt even know this could be possible, but tbh it’s not even surprising anymore
Also they said everything would’ve been over if they had a woman say she had slept with him (which ofc Javier and his lawyer refused to do) which… Wow just wow
If anyone wants more details this is one in Spanish
(i apologize if some of this doesnt make sense i literally just woke up)
Thanks for the additions. I don’t speak Spanish so I had to go by the German and English articles I could find on this.
It’s absolutely appaling to think someone can be charged with fraud simply for not disclosing their bisexuality. Putting aside the fact that a lot of bi people don’t realise they are bi until later in life - it also makes me so angry how it’s being phrased like he was deceiving her and “concealed his homosexuality”. When he is now clearly identifying as bisexual.
As Max said in the comments, this would also be a terrible sentence for any gay man who got married to a woman (or lesbians married to men). But in this case it’s really hard to read this as anything other than a man being punished for the fact that he is bisexual and was unaware of that or (due to internalised biphobia or unsafe circumstances) unable to use that label before.
The only silver lining might be if this caused a significant obroar and caused a higher court to overrule the sentence and maybe even change that ancient law that made this possible.
