you can always tell how little people actually care about art based on how much they hate modern/contemporary art
''bring back renaissance art'' I bet your ass you can't even definitively tell that movement apart from others
"posing next to art we think we can do'' can you though. can you
>sees a post about the superiority of renaissance art.
>it's baroque.
i've been phasing the phrase 'google it' out of my vocabulary and going back to 'look it up'. fuck you youve lost your generic trademark privileges
recollections
The original pride flag and the sewing machine it was sewn on
"biblical angels" you do realise there are angels in the old testament that are literally just regular looking guys, right? you do know that the hallucinogenic incoherent descriptions are in like. two books. and the rest of the time angels are just guys. you know that, right?
and I'm not saying don't have fun with weird angels. I'm saying, either the eldritch forms are for special occasions, or the society of the angels is Many-Eyed-Many-Winged-Interlocking-Circles, Four-Faces-Six-Wings, and Mike.
Literally Raphael is just a normal person!
this is what the heavenly breakroom is like
Oh no now I love the water cooler angel
Happy pride month to the tiny cowboy and tiny Trojan man from Night at the Museum
This hands down the best comment in the notes, I will not be taking criticism.
When you're googling Google for your Buffy fic to figure out whether the characters would be using Google in the summer of 2000 and then the Wikipedia entry for 'Google (verb)' includes this:
music songs and lyrics. its just unbelievable
theres even talk of albums. performances
if i hadnt bought that takeout that wasnt even very good on impulse 4 years ago i would be financially stable by now
see the problem with saying "addicts could ruin your bathroom" as a defense for paid bathrooms is that
1 paying customers can also do that. they do.
2 employees can also do that. they do
3 addicts are human beings also and are not some unique unrestrained evil
Dude I went to college and there was graffiti on the bathroom walls and we were absolutely paying obscene amounts of money to use those bathrooms. Money is not going to stop someone from vandalism, and in fact it might make them feel more entitled to it.
Watching Steven universe for the first time as an adult and remembering that Rebecca sugar based so much of the location on places from their childhood, which means its also based on where I spent my childhood, and feeling very nostalgic
Like the utz brand everything and Funland and the 240/301 area codes (which are out of place for delmarva peninsula, but make sense when you know Rebecca is from Montgomery county)
my neighbour stopped me when I was taking out my recycling, and said "when I park in front of your driveway and block it, and you leave a note on my car that reads 'please don't block my driveway', it makes me really mad." and I was just nodding like oh okay. yeah? huh.
he brought up that I should feel indebted to him bc he ‘cleared my driveway’ with his leaf blower, but what actually happened is that he gathered every leaf from both of our properties and piled it in a calf-high mass at the bottom of my front steps, which I had to wade through to exit my house. I genuinely thought he did this as a calculated attack. it did not occur to me that it was a good deed.
there has been some change in behaviour for the positive, though. like he hasn’t parked in front of my driveway lately, which is nice. and he stopped banging on my windows when I asked him not to. and he doesn’t go in my backyard anymore because I said “please stop doing that” and he said “I don’t do that,” and I said “I was literally watching you,” and he said “I only wanted to look over the fence into the other neighbour’s yard.” and he’s stopped going on to my porch at night to borrow my shovel (mainly because he broke the shovel and threw the pieces into my backyard), and he hasn’t taken my ornamental chicken statue and placed it in his garden again because I said “please don’t steal my chicken statue I can literally see it in your garden”. and he also hasn’t broken my recycling bin again, presumably because the lid can’t split in two any further. so we’ve had some positive improvements.
important context to this is that the guy yells at his wife a lot, and yells at the female tenants living in his basement, and because he perceives me as a woman, I am slotted into the 'should cower in fear of his testicles' category. but I'm also 6'2 and constantly on the verge of a mental breakdown, so I can't really manage more than a dead-eyed stare when he tries this. just standing out there in my house slippers going "oh okay" until he pauses long enough for me to slip in a firm "but please don't bang on my windows anymore."
We Are Here pt 1/?

After school care pulled me aside about my child dropping an f-bomb “without remorse” and I put on my concerned face and nodded a bunch.
Apparently he was building something with a younger kid “who really looks up to him and is just starting to make friends” and said “Hey, you’re really fucking good at this.” which is, in my estimation, really a parenting victory.
I absolutely failed at doing this:
RIP to the legend
This goose fucking rocks and had a crazy life!
I really just have to summarize Thomas's entire life:
He was in a committed relationship with a male swan named Henry for 18-24 years before a female swan named Henrietta showed up and mated with Henry.
Thomas was initially jealous of the pair and attacked them, breaking 2 of the 5 eggs Henrietta had laid. However, once the remaining eggs hatched, Thomas warmed up to them and helped raise them.
Henry couldn't fly because of an injured wing, so Thomas taught the cygnets how to fly.
When they needed to reduce the goose population in the pond where Thomas and the swans lived, they dyed Thomas's feathers red so he wouldn't be separated from Henry.
Henry, Henrietta, and Thomas remained in their happy throuple for years and raised 68 cygnets before Henry died in 2009. After Henry's death, Henrietta found another swan and flew away, leaving Thomas alone.
Thomas finally met and mated with a female goose in 2011 and had his own babies. However, another goose named George stole them and raised them himself.
As Thomas grew elderly and blind, he was relocated to a wildlife center where he raised orphaned cygnets.
His caretaker at the center described him as "pretty high maintenance."
Thomas died in 2018 at the age of around 40. He had a funeral that included a small coffin and a procession that was led by a bagpiper. He was buried under the stone where Henry was buried, the two finally reunited in death.
Before and after his death, Thomas has been celebrated as an icon of the LGBTQ+ community for obvious reasons.
