if you build “community” around hating other people, just know that the second you step out of line—regardless of your moral uprightness or the hypocrisy on their part—you’re the next person they’re going to tear to pieces.

alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!

46-60, AI is a net negative

given the current climate this pride especially i feel i must mention that i love my trans friends, i stand with trans people in the fight against transphobic legislation and those who would enforce it, and this blog is not a good place for you to be if you do not vibe with that
the most sexual emotion a man can feel is fear
Now why would Tumblr user twinktorturer say something like this
IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA!!!
Oh I had two of these guys! They wiggle when they pouce on their crickets! They really are little cats
Gosh that little mate is adorable. A baby. A kitten if you will
Not from my neck of the woods, but a West Australia mention is a West Australia mention
Sewing "a little bit" is one of the most useful skills you can possibly have proportional to how cheap and easy it is to learn.
So many of the items in our daily lives are sew-able. A simple needle and thread changes the way you think. When an item breaks, you no longer think, "I guess I must buy a new one..." Instead, you think, "I guess I must fix it..."
How many of these everyday items rest for eternity in a landfill, because of a simple break that a needle and thread could have fixed? How many excess items were manufactured to make up for the forgetting of the humble needle and thread...?
I love you, needle and thread...
THISSSSSSSSS man the day my nonna's sewing kit was handed to me something changed in me
so silly
for me childlike wonder is just normallike wonder.. heh.. just a peek into my twisted filly world
If you see this:
It’s okay to sit down while doing anything in the kitchen. You don’t even need to be disabled or chronically ill. Your feet do not need any excuses. Rest them
It’s okay to cut potatoes in front of the tv while sitting on the couch.
Abled folks could learn a lot from the measures disabled folks take to adapt to their conditions and hack their environment and daily tasks so it benefits them in all the possible ways.
And - it is an investment in future self to learn the skill of adaptation should one fall ill or disabled for any reason.
When I was a kid I was taught that sitting down while cooking was very dangerous (somehow). I wasn't allowed to sit, even when standing hurt.
I carried this far into adulthood. Do I... Not have to?
Did it never hurt them to stand?
I understand why folks can be against “you can become disabled at any time” argument. But, I fear it is being flattened by identity politics. Yes, we should care about someone simply because they are human. However, it’s been my experience this discourse is used specifically in regards to accessibility and internalized ableism to display the fact that disability is inevitable and ableism impacts everyone, so it’s best to embrace accessibility and de-programming internalized ableism now.
For me, it’s less ‘be nice to disabled people because it could happen to you’ and more: accessibility already benefits everyone, ableism is deeply internalized in all of us, and most people will eventually have to confront dependence, limitation, chronic illness, pain, aging, or loss of function. So maybe unpacking that fear now matters.
Also, I honestly don’t think you can fully do anti-capitalist work without unpacking ableism because capitalism fundamentally relies on it.
