I got a thing!
I found an amazing thing in the store today and couldn't wait to share it with you.
There is a David Bowie tarot set!!!
The artwork is by Davide De Angelis, inspired by the artworks he created for David Bowie. The box itself is amazing. The starman lightning bolt is prominent and where the box opens. I don't know why but I find this just perfect and very unique.
I have had a look at the cards and they look beautiful. I haven't had a chance to spend any time with the deck, however, so I haven't had a close look yet.
I know several people will be very excited by this deck, like I am, so I wanted to share my first impressions with you now.
The box is unique and the art is beautiful, with a 192 page full color accompanying book.
The cards seem to be on a decently thick stock. Close to a basic set of playing cards.
They have no border outside of a black title bar at the bottom of the card.
The cards are not edged. I will probably add a black edge to mine.
The back design is technically not reversible. Yet, at the same time, it is. There is a set orientation to the artwork but it is easily seen. At a glance, you won't be able to tell.
Some cards have been renamed; the fool is now the sacred clown, the alchemist is the starman, etc. I haven't read the book yet to find out the reasoning but this doesn't personally bother me.
So that's my first impression. Even if these cards do not read well for me, I am glad to own them. They are a beautiful set and I am excited to put them to use.
This Makes Sense
My boyfriend, in his eerie wisdom, introduced me to a movie last night. It's based on a book series and we watched it on Amazon prime, I believe. It's called Hogfather.
At first, I will admit, I was a little ... Skeptical ... If I would like it. I mean, it's part of a book series call the discworld series. I had never heard of the movie or any of the books. But, he was very much excited to show me this movie so I went along with it.
Boy, am I glad that I did.
It's a very fun movie, to begin with. It has comedy, strange creatures, mythology, and practical effects. It even had a plethora of pagan references. Needless to say, I rather enjoyed the movie.
An amazing moment is when Death is trying to pose as the story's version of Father Christmas.
I mean, you can't tell me that's not hilarious. Actually, very true as well.
One of my favorite parts, though, was near the end with a quote from the character Death.
That last line there is very much a reference to magic, for me. When casting spellwork, if you don't believe it will have an effect, it won't. Your believe makes it so. I don't know, maybe I'm just crazy.
Anyways, I highly recommend this movie/mini-series. It is entertaining and a very nice story. I may have to look into the books soon as well.
A nice design I made in Amaziograph
Nature don’t give a fuck.
All These Locations Are Haunted
Such beauty. Mother nature taking back the land that was taken from her.
I tried something new!
So I am a very crafty person. I make jewelry, I paint, I etch glass, I draw and write, and I make dreamcatchers, among other things. So every year I make my family something for Christmas presents. I feel like it costs less, it means more, and it let's me practice my crafts.
One year I made everyone hemp necklaces. The charms, colors, etc were all based around the certain person. The year after that I engraved their names on glasses. Coffee cups for the ladies and beer steins for the guys. And last year I made them all VERY custom dreamcatchers.
My idea this year was to try out that bleach t-shirt design idea that has been all over social media as of late. It didn't seem too hard to do and I could make a different design for each person. So I decided to try it out on one for a friend first. Very glad I did because it did NOT go according to plan. Haha
Here's the design that I chose:
I figured I'd just snatch one off the internet for practice. It's not like I'm selling this and I'm not claiming the design as my own anyways. If it is, in fact, your design; please let me know and I will add you as a tag etc.
Now, I only watched a few short videos on the process and they weren't very descriptive. I figured that I could figure it out though and gave it a shot without doing anymore research. Bad idea. Lol
I used just cardboard to cut out my pattern and I used WAY too much bleach. I didn't think about the cardboard not giving me a fine line and I was unaware that bleach reacts more slowly in cold weather. So it bled alot and I used too much bleach.
By the time I figured it out it was too late and I had an amorphous shape on a t-shirt. Haha luckily I have a set of fabric markers and was able to salvage it for the most part.
It's not perfect but I learned some lessons. I did more research and I believe I can do better next time. Good thing I had other ideas for gifts though.

Persephone is my patron goddess, but recently I've felt like Freya was calling me. I don't know much about Norse mythology though. I think it makes sense and they'd get along. But also: I've always liked Athena - and I have owls everywhere, and replicas dedicated to her - but I feel like I'm less connecting on a spiritual level. And then there's Artemis, probably the most favorite goddess of all... And I do like her! But I seem to prefer her brother. And I feel a bit bad.
Persephone is my boyfriend’s patron goddess so I don’t really work with her much but she and Freya do indeed seem to get alone just fine. As for not knowing much about Nordic mythology, that can be easily rectified! There are many book out there that cover the subject. If you think it will interest you, just give it a look. :)
Sometimes a deity can call to you not so much as a deity but as a friend. Having a statue or a symbol of them around is a good way to honor them and show your own friendship to them in return.
Don’t ever feel bad for being more connected to one deity over another. Sometimes that’s just how it works out. It’s kind of like breakfast cereals. You can really like one but another one just tastes extra special. It doesn’t mean you don’t like the other one, it just means you have an affinity for the other.
I tend to ramble and sometimes don’t make much sense. I hope I made enough sense to get a good point across. If not, feel free to contact me again, I’d love to hear from you.

Can you tell me about these books? :o (Hi, I’m still the same person ^^; )
Also I’d love to know more on Freya.
Freya is an amazing goddess. She isn't actually the same race as the other God's. Odin and his kin are know as aesir while Freya and her brother, Frey, are vanir. The aesir and vanir we're once at war but it was resolved long ago. Part of that resolution was that Frey and Freya would from that point live with the aesir in Asgard.
Freya is a powerful goddess. She is the queen of the Valkyries, the collectors of the honored dead. She and Odin split the honored dead in their separate armies, with Freya getting first pick.
She is a goddess of magic. It is truly one of her main points. It's one of the reasons Odin requested her in the resolution of the war. He learned most of his magic from her.
She is a goddess of cats. She loves the little things. There are even two Norwegian forest cats that pull her chariot.
She is a goddess of beauty and love. This aspect actually gets her mistaken and merged with Frigga, Odin's wife, on occasion.
She has what is known as gold lust. Freya is not a perfect being. Look into the story of the brisingaman for more details on that one.
As for Norse mythology books:
This one here is a very good starting point. It's not as hard to read and gives some very good information.
I hope that helped!

I have a silly question. Your altar pic seems like a good pretext. I know this should be obvious but how does someone worship multiple deities? I know they don't get jealous but I always feel like some might feel left out. I love so many but it's kind of overwhelming. And then there are the ones I almost feel obligated to include, you know? As in: I want them to know I do like them too! Sorry this might be a bit silly...
There's no such thing as a silly question. Especially when it comes to beliefs.
For myself it's easy to worship multiple dieties. I worship mainly Odin and Freya. They are amazing dieties and are wonderful to me. At times, though, the energy they have isn't right for the work I need to do, or I feel they wouldn't appreciate or want to participate in certain rites. Like most protection rites. They are both perfectly able to assist in those rites but other dieties are better suited for it. Like Thor.
Some deities may get jealous, it's true. I happen to know that Loki can get like that from time to time. He gives my friend Tori no end of trouble about paying attention to other deities. The trick is finding a balance. I honor all of my deities the same amount if I can.
I personally see Odin as father, Freya as mother, and any other deity I work with as a sibling. When I work with them in this way, it seems to just click. I honor them as I would honor any deity and I love them as I would love my family.
I hope this helped and answered your question. If not, I would love to hear from you again.

It's been a long time! I moved into a house that has been in my family for several generations and am trying to get things in order. Of course the first thing I set up was my altar so I figured I would post a picture of it. It's so long and full because of our eclectic tendencies. I actually had to take a panoramic shot to get it all in decent detail. Hope you enjoy a peek into my strange path. Ask any questions you want.
Just a quick healing sigil that I made. Feel free to use but please link back to me if asked where you got it. <3
I figured that I would finally get my but in gear and do an introduction post. I’ve been stalking alot of blogs and such and I’ve posted a few things but some of you may want to know a little about me and my path. P.s. the image is a painting that I made a few years ago.
My name is Trevor but my nickname has always been Thor because of my natural long blonde (although I dye it alot lately) hair and my pagan path that I am on. My main deities that I follow are Odin and Freya. I sometimes consider them to be my mother and father more than my god and goddess.
As for the work that I do, I am a major eclectic. I use sigils and art magic for a majority of my work. I feel like adding the effort of putting the artwork in my spells brings more energy to the working. The more time and passion that I commit to the work, the more ‘oomf’ that the spell will have. Outside of basic spell work I try to focus on divination and protective workings as well as my own personal grounding techniques.
As a person who suffers from manic depressive bipolar disorder as well as anxiety, I find it crucial to my life and practices to be able to manage and direct my energy to the areas that need them the most. I use mantras and chanting as well as song to help me control my rapidly fluctuating emotions and energy. My coworkers often ask why I suddenly start singing while I work and I simply tell them that it helps me focus when in reality I am using the vibrations of my voice as well as the energy output of my work to cast a working spell on the fly to regulate my chaotic mind and emotions.
I personally believe that there is magick in everything that we do. Every breath you take brings in new energy. Every motion builds more of your own. If you are dedicated enough to understanding this, then you can cast magick with everything that you do. If you make a meal with the intent to cause cheer and you drive your energy to that end then you can make it happen.
I would love to hear any of your questions about me or my path or how I follow it.
Calming Chants/Mantras
These are a few chants and mantras that I use when I feel out of sorts or am not feeling quite right. The first two I came up with but was inspired by the third, which I found a long time ago and can no longer remember where I found it. All three have served me quite well throughout the years and I hope they will help all of you as well.
In, out, and all around; Light and love can be found.
Blow around the circle with ease, Whisk evil away on the breeze.
Thrice around the circle, bound, Evil sink into the ground.
Edible Wands
I keep going by the Edible Wilds post and thinking it says Edible Wands.
On that note, who’s willing to try using a bread stick or a twizzler as their wand? You could totally use it as an offering, and then have a snack.
@breelandwalker any suggestions?
…..I am totally going to try this.
(Also licorice twigs make decent wands, I’m told.)
Omg, this gave me an idea.
Pixie stick wands. And you can use the color based on your intent. *_*
Candy canes make *wonderful* wands for this time of year. suck it down to a shank for any cursing you might need to do.
Lessons learned from this post: Witches are hungry….and dangerous. Not only will we use a candy cane wand to curse you, but will then stab you with the remnants of our afternoon snack 🙂😊🤗
Haha Somebody has been paying attention 👍🎃
I call upon creatures, ancient and old; Dragons of legend with stories yet untold. The time has come for our paths to cross; Come heal the wounds of a world, lost. Show us your power, show us your glory, Share with us now, your eternal story.
freya · goddess of beauty, love and destiny
Freya is one of the preeminent goddesses in Norse mythology. She’s a member of the Vanir tribe of deities, but became an honorary member of the Aesir gods after the Aesir-Vanir War. Freya is famous for her fondness of love, fertility, beauty, and fine material possessions – and, because of these predilections, she’s considered to be something of the “party girl” of the Aesir. In one of the Eddic poems, for example, Loki accuses Freya (probably accurately) of having slept with all of the gods and elves, including her brother. She’s certainly a passionate seeker after pleasures and thrills, but she’s a lot more than only that. Freya is the archetype of the völva, a professional or semiprofessional practitioner of seidr, the most organized form of Norse magic. It was she who first brought this art to the gods, and, by extension, to humans as well. Given her expertise in controlling and manipulating the desires, health, and prosperity of others, she’s a being whose knowledge and power are almost without equal.

I would also like to add that Freya is a goddess of the dead as well. When the Valkyries bring the honored dead to Asgard, it is Freya who gets first pick over Odin.
She is not without her faults, though. One of the best things I find about the Nordic pathways and mythology is that they acknowledge that the dieties are not perfect. Freya, though a goddess of love and beauty, has what us called a gold-lust. Her exquisite brisingamen necklace was created by three dwarves and Freya was able to sense the item from world’s away. She put herself in danger by walking from Asgard, unprotected, in search of it. Once she found it she spent one full night with each dwarf to acquire it.
If you ask me, this flaw that Freya has makes her more approachable and relatable. I have found that I feel more comfortable praying to her because I know that she is not perfect and understands that we make mistakes. That is why she is my patron goddess.
