Why can’t Zutara and Kataang shippers just live in peace side by side?? Obviously if you’re a kataang shipper you don’t have to love zutara and vice versa but you should not be attacking the shippers!!
They’re always making up lies about their ships in order to justify them as well, this is seen mostly with zutara. They always claim the writers originally intended for zutara to happen, yet never provide any sort of proof. And they also claim Katara only saw Aang as a brother, which is not true. Katara is a naturally motherly character.
And they’re always bringing up how much superior their ship is on videos that have nothing to do with their ship!! (Just to clarify I’m talking about both zutara and kataang shippers) I literally can’t even enjoy an edit without someone screaming in my ear about how much better their ship is.

About Katara seeing Aang as a little brother...that's on the creators, not the Zutara fans because, out of all the tropes out there, this clowns decided to associate their favorite ship with the babysitter trope
The motherly/babysitter vibes are there. It's in the text/show because that's how they wanted their dynamic to be written. The younger, more immature boy is infatuated from the beginning with the older, more mature girl while she sees him more as a little kid/brother and he needs to prove that he can be taken seriously as a love interest. We didn't come up with this. The men that worked on the show did.
And yes. Katara and Aang kiss and all of that throughout the story, but for some of us it's just looks forced or it's uncomfortable to watch.
Is this enough proof now? Are we allowed to say that Zutara should have been canon and that Katara and Aang are like a babysitter and her little brother who smooch from time to time?
The creators have said that Katara behaves motherly towards Aang.
They also said Katara was “confused” because she struggled to see Aang as a love interest due to their difference in maturity.
In the Legacy book, Katara confirms that she fell in love with Aang because she got to watch him grow from a boy into a man.
This lines up with that weird speech Katara gave Aang about being proud of him for growing up. While her words sound more maternal or sisterly, the creators intended it to signal that she could now potentially see Aang as a romantic prospect because he had matured.
Katara can only make up her mind after Aang saves the world, effectively turning her into a prize for his heroism and persistence. The creators wanted to mislead the audience into thinking the balcony scene would be a platonic one, only for them to be presented with the two sharing a “deep kiss”. Despite the animation director’s protests that the kiss was inappropriate, Bryke insisted that the series had to conclude with a scene of a 12-year-old boy making out passionately. They are so creepy and disgusting.
God, they even intentionally characterize their relationship as detrimental to Katara and one-sided. (Character Relationships page)
She does all his chores for him and takes care of him like a mother, and he tries to distract her from those chores to gain her attention and affection, actively making her job and her life harder and they literally say it frustrates her but of course she's the male fantasy doting mother figure female love interest so her patience and selfless giving nature of course win out because that's just Who She Is (which makes it totally fine that she does everything for him- how else would he function and do his job??? obviously, she has to be responsible for that, too, and if she isn't then it's her shortcoming and not his because that's her job as the woman), what a perfect couple x.x
I think the gif OP picked is really ironic, because in this scenario they are Azula pretending to surrender and then shooting Iroh. That's what I'll think of whenever I see people make disingenuous posts like this pretending to be against the ship war but blaming zutara shippers for it.
