video game and film fandoms will come and go for me but the Silmarillion fandom will never die. because that book came out like 50 years ago and we're all still trying to figure out what the hell is going on there.

This is essentially the prequel to something I posted a while ago and took down because I wasn't happy with it anymore, but this fic is far shorter and more self-contained. I hope people enjoy it :D
I dislike that ending so much better that I'm actually going to go re-read my own alternative season 3 fic. Here are some things that do NOT happen in MY ending:
God does not fucking ship Aziraphale and Crowley
Every character we've ever met does not get disintegrated out of existence
Aziraphale and Crowley do not die
Aziraphale and Crowley do not become fucking humans
Aziraphale and Crowley do not become fucking random humans who basically like stars and books and have nothing else in common with their original characters except face shape
Here are some things that do happen
Everyone who deserves it gets a happy ending
The problem of even is PROPERLY addressed
The apocalypse is resolved satisfactorily
The Book of Life features in an actually interesting way
The characters we met and invested in in season 2 do not randomly disappear from the narrative.
Anyway I could continue ranting but instead here's my fic.

Hello and good morning to you all, and welcome once again to another Fandom Friday. As always, this is your host Coffeelorian or if you prefer, just plain Coffee, back with another update from around the vast fandom that is Star Wars.
Before we begin, I just want to drop two tiny announcements in here, so here they are:
First, as the “Maul: Shadow Lord” series aired its season finale earlier this week, I decided to go ahead and make that show the theme for this installment, as I more or less announced it in the 501st Edition the week before.
And second, I’ll be sure to go back to visiting all the subsets of The Galaxy Far Far Away as early as next week, as there probably won’t be another themed Fandom Friday until ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ hits the movie theaters on May 22 (2 weeks from today).
In the meantime, though, here are my (slightly Dark Side-coded) picks of the week!

In conclusion, as part of my mission to poke around the Star Wars fandom and highlight those creators who might otherwise go unnoticed…I hope you will check out the links I have included for yourselves and like, comment on, and reblog them, as well as also giving the writers a few more followers to their Tumblr pages.
Please also like and reblog this latest installment so that these links can be spread around to as many other fans as possible, just in case not all of them can tune in at the same time.
An additional thank you goes to @djarrex for making the divider I used earlier in this post, but still want to give credit for.
If anybody likes what they see here AND would enjoy seeing more posts like this; please drop the rock star emoji (👩🎤) into the comments or reblogs, and I’ll be sure to tag you when the next update comes.
And finally, so that I do not forget…thank you to my friends, thank you to this fandom, and above all else, please stay safe out there.
The first two times I read the Training of Erasmus short story I thought Kallias was a little shit for kissing Erasmus and wrecking Erasmus's chances at serving Damen, but on my third read of it I realised how stupid I was — Kallias would have been privy to a whole lot of Kastor's plan to overthrow Theomedes and Damen and would have known that any slaves/slaves-in-training belonging to Damianos were going to be killed. So really, even though Erasmus went through horrors afterwards, Kallias saved his life.
I'm convinced that the Clone Wars episode where Ahsoka loses her lightsaber on Coruscant is the turning point in her character development — she learns patience, the one main thing that Anakin notably lacks.
