I think it should be permissible to take time off work to get in shape. Like maintaining a reasonable level of fitness is nowhere near as hard as building it up in the first place, so it should be acceptable to get paid sick leave for like two weeks to focus on going to the gym every other day and spending the next day being a sore slug in bed, just 100% focused on rest and recovery. Being able to put all your time and energy on building up physical tolerance, so you'll have easier time keeping up with maintenance level exercise on your free time from thereon.
Book so good it deprives you from sleep, makes you walk twenty circles around the house, and causes an unhealthy attachment to a character you will never encounter again

not the best photos but that’s what I got
A THOUSAND MORNINGS
All night my heart makes its way
however it can over the rough ground of
uncertainties, but only until night meets
and then is overwhelmed by morning,
the light deepening, the wind easing
and just waiting, as I too wait (and
when have I ever been
disappointed?) for redbird to sing.

Invasive species versus a second, stronger invasive species
Australia did this at one point, intentionally releasing cats into the bush in an attempt to control the invasive rabbit population. Now we have invasive feral cats as well as invasive rabbits👌
A third, even stronger invasive species will surely do the trick
Mary Oliver, from On Meditating, Sort Of
wintery sentience flits with the moon
through cloud veils
and wind-rush hymns
sun weaving around fingers, sifting
to gift warmth
and the pines
meditate on, wise
in their silence — one that is not silent
at all.

no offense but reading is literally the cure to brain rot and there’s no work around to reading books

You know what? I’m going to say it. People avoid getting divorced “for the kids” because they’re fucking cowards. Because they’re too weak to imagine a world where they have to raise their child on their own. Because they’re too selfish to pay child support. Because they care more about keeping the marital assets than raising children who don’t flinch when they hear raised voices. Because the devil they know is better than taking the plunge into the unknown. If they cared about their kids, they wouldn’t make them watch them fight everyday. Getting divorced is often the bravest thing you can do for your child and many people are too fucking weak to do it. This is why it pisses me off when people state that divorcees were just too weak and spineless to make a marriage work, it is so much less effort to live in familiar misery for the rest of your life than to try to make your life and the life of your children better.
