I really try to stay out of politics and posting anything negative but this...this is a disgrace and a mockery to all those who have lost loved ones and to those that are no longer with us. Here is some truths about Hurricane Maria from my first hand experience. I landed in Puerto Rico on the first commercial flight out of Tampa, FL. When I arrived, there were women and children, elderly and disabled panting and desperate for water outside of the gate. Downstairs there was food and water sitting in piles and I was told I could not bring anything through security. During a conversation with Homeland Security, several of the officers told me they had no idea what they were doing at the airport and why they weren't out in the field helping people. Everyone was too scared there would be chaos at the airport meanwhile, and I quote, "there are piles of bodies stacked up at mortuaries and no way to freeze them". As I went further into the "inaccessible" areas by Car and foot, I was appalled at the conditions even more. I met person after person that had lost someone close to them, be it at the hospital because ventilators shut off, or elderly who couldn't get food or water, mentally disabled that were evacuated from the place they called home and their loved ones who died Just days later after being transferred. At one home visit we discovered a woman in a wheelchair that could not get help because there were no phones or way to reach her family. She was hungry. She told me her neighbor next door had just buried her husband the day before in the backyard. Then there was the bridge that collapsed in Utuado, where 28 families were trapped, unable to access food or water for days. We discovered a 55+ aided community that had no food for several days. Many couldn't take the heat, the lack of food and water. Then there were the animals, trapped in demolished homes, those chained and left behind. Starving, pacing, waiting for someone to save them. Or how about the shelters, where women with 2 month old babies had no diapers or formula, begging us to please find some to feed their baby - #trump #hurricanemaria #lifeaftermaria #truth #justice #puertorico #pr #voiceforthevoice (at Los Angeles, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/BnruMuKhDoQ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=a1j6oy5cb59b
