a lot of people love hating annabeth for her behavior towards rachel, which obviously was mean, but not only is this girl getting used to being human and having friends and family for the first time in a very long time, but she has got used to the fact that she’d also been abandoned by everyone she’s ever loved.

she’d been abandoned by her dad when she met his new wife, and after she ran away from home and met a new family, thalia “dies”. few years later, the other part of her family (luke) abandons her to join an army that wants to destroy her only home and her friends.

and then, when she gets thalia back, she spends a few months with her, then gets kidnapped and is forced to hold the sky for 22 hours, and when shes back, thalia is leaving her again.

so yeah. she was not going to take lightly the fact that all of a sudden, this cool mortal girl shows up and ““tries to take percy away from her””.
