Ok so I’ve been playing for 18 years and i’m a string teacher. Can i just say how IMPORTANT it is for young kids to see a BLACK, MALE-PRESENTING PERSON playing, nae, SHREDDING on a violin? I’ve know maybe 5 black people who played stringed instruments throughout my schooling and teaching (predumably because i’m an upper middle class white woman). In districts where the population is predominantly black, funding is always low, so the instruments are crappy. Kids quit, or the program is dismantled. I’ve seen very few professional string players who are black.
Obviously there are black string players. We just don’t see them because they “don’t look like” string players.
This person is the real deal. They were clearly classically trained, and seems to have some fiddle training as well. How cool is that?
New idea: Subnautica x CRK AU, where both the Beasts and Ancient Heroes are a sort of hybrid between Leviathans and Warpers, artificially created by the alien predecessors on Planet 4546B to prevent the spread of the Kharaa outbreak on (and from) the planet.
The Beasts were the first group created...but when they began to kill anything that had been infected as part of their role, the predecessors realized they were perhaps a bit too dangerous to leave freely roaming the oceans. They were sealed in one of the labs, and another group created: The Ancients. They, specifically, work to protect anything not infected, quarantine infected creatures in safe areas, and search for a cure...
Until the Aurora is shot down. As part of a contingency plan, sensing new life on the planet that could lead to the Kharaa possibly leaving...the Beasts are released, and travel the oceans once again. Looking for any survivors of the crash...and for the other creatures that have "replaced" them.
Shadow Milk is the smallest out of the Beasts...but he's still twice as large as any human, and he has plenty of powerful tricks up his sleeve. He's able to perfectly mimic practically any sound and voice, with a hypnotic siren song. Tucked into "pockets" of his clawed arms and tail are cnidarian-like tentacles, like blue puppet strings, that he can release to ensnare any prey. He's heavily cybernetic, and can "hack" his way into practically any technology...including cameras to let him see through multiple viewpoints, or radios to project his voice. He can even teleport!
Any remaining survivors should be easy prey for him...and yet, when he finds a human—you—swimming in the shallows close to where you crashed? Watching you for a while, doing your best to survive?
He's quickly smitten with you.
It'll be a while before he allows you to see him, and he doesn't reveal right away just how powerful and dangerous he is...though there's no hiding he's a Leviathan. He still does his best to show that he means no harm, and that he's helpful, even!
Eventually you'll learn your "new friend" is one of the most dangerous creatures you could be close to...good thing he's very much on your side.
(Even if he's not keen on you leaving the planet in the end...)
