did you know its actually a sign of psychopathy to write an antagonist character into your story
its honestly pretty messed up to make ur characters go through all that stuff when u could just as easily have written them to be content and happy to start with :/
Something I do find lovely about the first 4 Murderbot Diaries books (can’t yet speak on all of them) is:
Murderbot chronically finding new scientists/travellers to claim as “clients” (whether paid or not) like one of those sheepless herding dogs that goes around finding sheep (or anything else they can herd like a flock of sheep). Like it clearly has a protect humans instinct and a desperate need for enrichment.
Given its general lack of self awareness and unreliable narrator status, there’s no way in hell Murderbot is aware it’s doing this.
Murderbot: I just want to be left alone to watch my shows. I care nothing for these humans. I hate having clients.
Also Murderbot: *noticing unaccompanied humans that have nothing to do with it at all* Oh look, clients.
a rogue SecUnit will see a group of scientists and be like “is anyone going to protect them?” and not wait for an answer

Initial thoughts:
a lot more hand holding and hugging than expected
it doesn't seem to mind hand holding
but it prefers it when it's the one to offer a hand
especially for emergency situations (comforting someone)
hugs it is more bothered by but it may be due to the unfamiliarity and movement restriction
it likes to comfort people, especially if they're having a trauma response

Its my birthday, and ive realized ive not posted art in SO LONG, but ive never stopped drawing

On Saturday I said to my partner, as I have said for months, "A ten thousand dollar a year raise would solve so many of my problems."
As of this morning I was reluctantly looking for jobs because I love my job and don't want to leave it, but see: $10k raise problem solver.
As of noon today this was no longer an issue, because my boss called me with the news that I was getting a $10K merit raise.
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. This is roughly $200 extra per paycheck. Enough to pay off debt faster, rebuild my savings, and spend a weekend a month in Milwaukee getting obscenely laid. The sex I'm going to have on $200 extra per paycheck. You can't even.
May all of you get the $10K raise your soul has yearned for. And whatever level of sex you can be satisfied with for $200.

also, side note, I believe this is the only episode we see him reach out to initiate touch with Anyone. people routinely initiate touch with him, and he responds to it positively, but it almost exclusively just goes the one way and imo there are a few moments where it looks like he wants to touch people but deliberately draws back / balls up his hands / wraps his arms around himself to avoid doing it. this whole sequence is the exception, he and pin-lee poke back and forth at each other a few times both to get attention and provide reassurance.
