Lex and Clark in #Superman be like
some Superman (2025) letterboxd reviews I wanted to share.
I actually cried when "recordings of his parents" changed from Clark's bio parents to Ma & Pa
Ahhh, the shot of this random guy helping Superman stand up warms my heart.
One thing many modern superhero films miss out on, I feel is the Superhero's relationship to the random people they save. Many MCU films have escalated to the point of numbers so high its unthinkable- and they've lost that personal touch. Moments like this are a visual metaphor for what makes the hero keep fighting, keep going, keep standing up. There's a reason this scene from Spiderman II is one of my favorites ever.
Superman shouldn't be floating ominously above the people reaching out and begging for his help like an indifferent god. Superman should be personable, reassuring, someone who makes you feel safe, someone who does good because he genuinely cares, will rush in to help without a second thought, and still take the time to make sure you're okay before getting back to fighting a kaiju.
'he said i love you but it's only been 3 months' okay well you DON'T get them. you just don't get them it is CANON across pretty much every iteration that he's loved her from almost the beginning of their working relationship, he thinks she's the best thing since sliced bread, he is a LOVER and a YEARNER. it's a wonder he waited 3 months to tell her he loves her, literally took all his kryptonian strength and farmboy willpower to keep that one in
be ready for superman art... the hold this movie has on me is insane
The thing about Krypto in the new Superman movie is that he's a bad dog. He's a good boy, he's such a good boy, he's the goodest boy ever, but he's a bad dog.
He achieves this apparent paradox by being loyal and loving but also being smart enough to know how to be a good dog and simply declining the option. He could be a good boy and follow commands any time he wants, he just doesn't want to.
Good Boy by nature, Bad Dog by choice.
in the end, all he wished for was more time with him
i need him so bad its concerning at this point
did you hear. the sun loves him
go see my son, the poster child for uncomplicated good
the sunlight on our skin, and all the other things that make us human
