it’s my firm belief that fem!Percy Jackson’s name wouldn’t be Persephone, Percy/Persy for short. Yes I know it’s an easy name to come to, because there’s a built-in “Percy”, and it’s a mythological name that can work in the modern era.
But like. In universe. In-universe, the reason Perseus Jackson is named that, is because Sally Jackson wanted to name her son after a hero with a happy ending. And arguably Persephone didn’t have a happy ending, depending on how modern of an interpretation you take of her story etc etc.
Also, something I never see considered is that like… Persephone is an Actual God who presumably would find out at some point that Poseidon’s kid is named after her. Why on earth world Sally draw Persephone’s, and more specifically Hades’ attention to her daughter like that? Bad move. Nobody would like that.
Anyways. This is my argument for fem!Percy’s name to be Penelope, for the woman who held Ithaca by outwitting her suitors for twenty years and whose entire family survived her story. That’s pretty impressive for a Greek myth. And she can have the nickname Penny as a treat.
Supernatural 3
LAST ONE
Okay, after this I'll probably wait another day or two to see which of the 8 fic ideas has the most engagement and I'll do that one!
Adam joins John and Dean hunting within a year of Sam going to Stanford (Adam is 13, Dean is 24). Adam's mom is killed by something chasing John.
John does basically the same thing he did with Sam by just kind of shoving Adam to Dean to take care of, except he's even more distant than he was when Sam and Dean were young because Dean is a fully fledged adult.
John still expects Dean to hunt as much as possible so Dean gets Adam enrolled in online homeschooling courses and splurges on getting Adam a personal laptop. They start a routine of Adam working on his school work while Dean does research for his cases. John insists on Adam doing training but he's not around to enforce it as strictly as he did when Dean and Sam were kids so Dean does get Adam training, but he doesn't push as hard.
John really isnt around very often, he mainly checks up by phone call or text and meets up with Adam and Dean every few months to check on Adam's progress.
At first Adam is angry and withdrawn but he bonds with Dean fairly quickly. He cries about missing his mom and he rages about John and sometimes wishes he had never come back into her life because she and Adam were doing just fine on their own. Dean comforts him and lets him cry and tries to help him move past his mom's death. Dean remembers all of the times he told Sam to buck up and pushed him harder than he really wanted to because he knew their father would be upset if Dean "babied" Sam and Dean was too young to fight back much or even understand that he shouldn't just regurgitate everything their dad said. Adam starts to see Dean as his dad, not John and Dean feels much the same way.
By the time John goes missing in Jericho in 2005 (Adam is 15, Dean is 26, Sam is 22) Adam is a pro at research, they've found he has a knack for languages so he's become almost fluent in Latin and Ancient Greek and has begun to work on languages like Hebrew and Sanskrit and Aramaic, languages that can be useful in their line of work. He is also a dab hand at hand to hand combat and Dean has gifted him a set of silver throwing knives he keeps sheathed on both wrists and ankles, as well as a pretty decent shot. He does well in his homeschooling courses, but they've definitely stacked them more on ancient history, rather than world history and mythology for English classes to help with hunting, but Dean is really good at math and science and helps with anything he can. Dean tries his best to keep Adams life as balanced as he can and has Adam looking into colleges but makes it clear that he isn't expecting Adam to go if he doesn't want to and if he does want to Dean will get an apartment or a house for the two of them and he'll hunt with wherever his college is as a base of operations.
Adam knows all about Sam and kind of hates him, but he knows how much Dean loves Sam and tries his best to not be dick about it when Dean wants to check on Sam. Dean told Adam everything about Sammy in the first year that Adam was with him, gushed about how he was so smart and how Dean was so proud of him for getting a full ride to stanford but Dean would have done whatever it took to send Sammy to Stanford if he hadn't and he really wanted to go. Dean called Sam every few weeks to check in but Sam tended to be curt and rude and rushed himself off the phone. Dean always seemed down after phone calls with Sam but he never stopped trying to keep in touch, he asked if Sam needed more money and always sent some after a phone call. Adam grew to really resent the way Dean would falter while on the phone with Sam because Dean tried really hard to be a positive and supportive person for both of his brothers but Sam always threw it back in Dean's face. A couple times Adam tried to tell Dean he didn't like how Sammy made Dean sad and Dean insisted it was okay and told Adam how he failed Sammy a lot when they were kids and couldn't take care of him as well as he could Adam now. Adam started to pay more attention to the odd comment Dean would throw out about when he was younger and what their life was like and he really begins to resent Sam for expecting so much more from Dean when Dean was only 4 years older than Sam. He does his best to really appreciate how hard Dean tries to take care of him and he never wants to leave him.
During one of the few times John insisted on taking Adam for a weekend (really just an excuse to test Adam's hunting skills and make sure Dean was keeping up with training like John wanted him to) Dean went to see Sam at Stanford. Adam has no idea what happened when Dean went to visit but he comes back upset. He watches Dean attempt to call Sam once a week for months before he finally gives up. Adam asks what happened and Dean is honest and tells him they got into a fight and Sam told Dean to get out of his life. He tells Adam how he hoped the Sam would cool off after the fight and they could talk about what made Sam so upset but he wasn't answering Dean's phone calls so he suppsoed that was it. Dean wouldn't tell Adam what the fight was about and when he realized that asking just made Dean really sad, he let it go. After that they would make sure to pass throguh California every couple months and Dean would leave money and presents for Sam's birthday or Christmas if either were soon, and Adam never said a word about it.
The fight Sam and Dean had was about Adam. Dean hadn't told Sam about Adam before then because Sam never stuck around on the phone for very long and he could hang up and avoid the conversation easily if he was upset, which Dean figured would be likely. Because of that he also didn't want to have Adam present when he told Sam, but John had made Adam Dean's responsibilty right from the get go. It took a long time before a good combo of Adam being trained enough to not need Dean as a buffer around their dad the entire time, trusting his dad not to hurt Adam if Dean left them alone, and also being close enough to Califnoria that the trip would only be about a day. So he took the time to go and tell Sam about Adam. Sam ends up as pissed as Dean expected him to bed, but he seems most mad at Dean. He tells Dean how he can't believe that Dean would be okay with screwing up another kid the way Sam ended up. Dean insists he's taking good care od Adam and Adam is happy. He tries to explain about the homeschooling and how Adam is adjusting and seems to enjoy all the weird little stops they make along the way like the World's Largest Ball of Twine and things like that but Sam doesn't give him the chance. He basically tells Dean that he and John should have let Adam be picked up by foster care so he'd have a more stable life and the ability to get a good and well rounded education rather than induct another innocent kid into the life they live and how Sam can't even look at Dean and he had hoped Sam turning out so fucked up would be enough of an example for Dean. Then he makes a few mean comments about how Dean is selfish and is so desperate not to be alone he's dragging an innocent kid to his death and tells Dean to get the hell out of his life.
Adam and Dean end up at the Woman in White case in Jericho following their dad's trail. Dean considered calling Sam to see if he'd come help because he really felt all-hands on deck would help to locate their father faster, plus Jericho was closer to Palo Alto than their jobs usually took them and it would be easy to get him out and back to university quickly if needed. Plus he just really missed his little brother. Dean ended up deciding to call Sam first and when Sam's phone rings twice then goes straight to voicemail, Dean's heart broke a bit and he decided to just let it go and continue with just Adam.
Adam and Dean go through the Woman in White case very similarly to how Dean and Sam do in the show. The night they finish the case Dean and Adam have fond a motel a good 50 miles north of Jericho and they're both asleep for the night when Dean's phone starts ringing. Dean picks it up and Sam is on the other end kind of freaking out and not making much sense. Dean manages to get out of Sam that he needs him and Dean and Adam pack up their things as quickly as possible and start back towards Palo Alto to help him.
When they reach Palo Alto, Sam sends a text message with coordinates that lead to a shadier motel than even Sam and Dean used to stay in as kids. Sam is sitting at the table in the motel with a half drunk bottle of cheap whiskey, a random, mostly empty duffle bag at his feet and a gun sitting on the table in front of him, staring but not seeing. His face is blank. When Dean walks in he walks right up to Sam and swipes the gun off the table, stuffing it into his bag and tossing the whole thing to Adam. Adam takes the bag and begins setting their stuff down on one of the beds. Sam is still just staring and not really moving. Eventually Dean says or does something and it sets Sam off. Sam lunges at Dean and tries to punch him in the face. Adam wants to get invovled and pull Sam off of Dean but Dean tells him to back off and it quickly becomes clear Sam is too drunk to do any real damage. He's sobbing so hard he can hardly breathe and eventually he stops trying to hit dean and just grips his shirt and cries and says over and over again how "she's gone, just like mom" Dean knows he won’t get any real answers out of Sam that night so he lets him just cry until he passes out and then he asks Adam to help him get Sam on the empty bed. They get him situated and Dean tells Adam to go to bed. Adam can tell Dean won't be sleeping and wants to ask to stay up too, but at this point he knows unless there's an active case he desparetly needs a second hand for, Adam is required to go to bed to be up and do homework at a reasonable hour. He knows this is somewhat of an emergency, but it's really no different than being suddenly summoned to another Hunter who needs help in the area immediately and Dean had always been strict about his schedule before, there was no reason to think this would be different. So Adam goes to bed.
Next morning Sam wakes up to Dean and Adam sitting at the table in the room, each with a laptop in front of them, coffee, and some kind of breakfast. Sam sits up and Dean looks over at him and offers him a cup of coffee that's still steaming. Sam's head is killing him so he takes the coffee and then hand also hands him some pain killers. Sam mumbles out a thanks and sits at the end of the bed and sips at his coffee, observing his two brothers. This is Sam's first time seeing Adam and he's surprised. He looks nothing like Dean or Sam. Dean is the spitting image of their mother with his blonde hair and more delicate facial features, and Sam had really grown and filled out and he was seeing more and more of their father in himself. This boy looked didn't look like their father at all, so he assumed Adam must take after his own mother. He had dirty blond hair, similar to Dean's but a few shades lighter. His face was soft and round, but thin and he was studying his laptop screen very intently with pale blue eyes. Sam couldn't really tell since the kid was sitting, but he seemed to be just a touch shorter than Dean, but Dean had also said Adam was 14 the last time Sam saw him and that was just over 2 years ago now, which would make Adam 16, so there was a chance he could still outgrow their brother, just as Sam had. That thought made him smirk inside his head just a bit.
Adam asks Sam if he's going to just keep staring and Sam ignored the question and asks what Adam's doing. Adam tells him trig homeworker which surprises Sam. Dean looks up from his laptop and tells Adam to put on his headphone and focus on his homework because he has a test the next day. Adam rolls his eyes and makes a comment about how Dean just wants to talk to Sam without Adam listening in and Dean says "bingo" while Adam slips his headphones on. Sam is weirded out by the fact this kid is not only doing homeowrk, but that his brother knows Adam has a test the next day. Dean turns to Sam and just waits for Sam to speak. Sam ends up asking about Adam's schooling instead of the night before because he isn't sure if he's mentally capable of reliving it.
Dean doesn't let Sam derail the conversation for long, basically just says like "I told you last time I saw you that the kid is home schooled, it's school time for him" He tells Sam he's sorry, but he really needs to know what Sam knows. Sam goes on to tell Dean very clincally and detached that he isn't entirely sure. He explains that he had been in a shitty mood since Dean's call a few days before and last night he ended up getting into a big fight with Jess because she managed to get him to say at least part of his problem had to do with his brother, Jess was curious because she didn't know very much about Sam's family or life before college, but she knew Sam's older brother was important, so she pushed wanting more information. Sam didn't take this well and although he's been a fairly even headed guy says coming to college, his family, family secrets, and the life he had growing up, quickly brought his more hot headed tendencies to the surface and he ended up yelling at Jess. Jess, being a no nonsense kind of person told him he wasn't allowed to yell at her that way and basically kicked him out of their bedroom for the night, telling him to cool off. Sam, upset with himself and feeling guilty for yelling at Jess decided he should have a bit more space, so, grabbed a quick change of clothes (and some weapons he refuses to ackowledge still keeping close at hand) and left for a friends couch who didn't live too far away. At some point in the night he gets a call from Jess, but when he answers all he hears are screams and a loud crackling sound before the call is disconnected. Sam rushes back home and see's smoke coming from a window near where he knkows their apartment is. He pushes past through the crowd of people and through firefighters trying to hold him back and runs up to his apartment, the fire is spreading but it doesn't seem to be getting to close to Sam as he runs/ He just makes it through the door to their apartment, breaking down the door in the process, when he hears Jess's screams and he tries to step into the apartment just as a fire fighter grabs hold of Sam and drags him out back down the hall and out of the apartment. He fought against their hold, wanting to get to Jess and help her even though a part of his brain knew it was already too late, but he's overpowered and dragged out where he breaks down sobbing, which is when he eventually calls Dean. From there, Dean knew the rest.
Dean listened to his brother, feeling awful that there was nothing he could do to bring his girl back, but also dreading what he was about to tell his brother. Sam is crying again by the time he's done talking. Dean stands up and sits next to him on the bed, putting an arm around his brothers shoulders and offering him the little comfort he can. Sam, who had always found some of the most comfort in exactly these arms, allowed himself to just cry and feel and be comforted by the presence of his big brother. As devastated as he was by the loss of his fiancee, there was a part of him that was glad to know that even all these years later of distance and then eventually silence, his brother was still someone he could count on to be there for him and pick him up when he was down. Sam ends up crying himself to sleep again.
Adam hadn't actually started his assignment yet, he was fine for his test, Dean knew that too and there was a good chance Dean knew he wasn't actually doing homework, but he knew Dean wanted to give Sam some semblance of privacy while talking about something so horrible. Adam wanted to listen because he had a feeling there was more that Dean knew than he was currently saying and Adam just wanted to know what was going on. When he woke up that morning he could tell Dean hadn't slept and he had been unsually quiet and withdrawn, he had Adam get started on his school work as soon as he was up and then eventually left to get them coffee and breakfast. When he returned Dean had been on the phone and Adam could tell it was with some kind of police or fire office just based on the way he spoke, but instead of staying and speaking in front of Adam like he usually did, he sat Adam's food down In front of him, gave him a signal to eat and stepped back outside. He stayed outside for another 10 minutes or so and almost as soon as Dean had entireely sat down, before Adam could ask what the call was about, Sam had woken up and Dean obviously wanted to speak with him. So Adam eavesdropped, and now he felt bad. As much as he had come to dislike Sam over the years, he never wanted him to be hurt like this. He may not know Sam the way he did Dean, but Sam was still his brother and if there was anything he had learned from Dean, it was that family should come first. Adam even felt the urge to offer up a hug or a pat on the back or just something to possibly help Sam through his grief, but he also had a suspicion his comfort wouldn't be welcome at this time, so he kept his distance and decided to actually start working on his homework.
When Sam eventually wakes up again, not all that much time has passed, but Adam seems to be done with his homework as he's sitting at the tablet with some kind of obviously old and worn text in front of him, as well as a myriad of other books, all of which Sam can tell are for their Dad's line of work. Before Sam can say anything Dean tells him he needs to tell him something and Dean seems pretty serious so he listens. Dean explains how their father had gone missing, Sam immediately kind of blows up asking why Dean hadn't called and without thinking Dean snaps at him "I did call, you just didn't pick up" which immediately makes them both feel bad. Sam for realizing his brother is right and Dean for throwing it in his brother's face when he knows Sam already feels like shit. Sam just kind of stiffly nods his head and Dean bulldozes through the awkwardness while Adam quietly scoffs to himself. Dean goes back to explaining about how they came out looking for him, the motel room they found in his name, the articles and protective fetishes all over the place, finding his journal, everything. Sam is like okay what does that have to do with me and Jess. Dean hesitates and but end sup revealing that he spoke to the fire chief and the coroners office and Jess has been pinned to the ceiling with a cut on her stomach and the fire had started in the bedroom of their apartment, but so far no one can figure out what accelerant was used. Sam goes quiet and Adam is listening intently so Dean just kind of rips the bad aid off and says he finds it highly suspicious that their dad went missing on a case less than half an hour from where Sam and Jess live and within a week of him going missing, Jess ends up being murdered the exact same way their mother was and he believes that whatever killed their mom, killed Jess.
Later that night as Sam is getting out of a shower, he can hear Dean and Adam talking and overhears Dean telling Adam he thinks they'll have to put off going to the coordinants that their father had left in the journal for a couple more days until they can get Sam settled into a new apartment. Adam agrees and says he'll start doing some research on the area the next morning so they have an idea of where there dad might be. Dean reminds him he needs to do his school work first and Sam can hear the eyeroll in Adam's voice when he's like yeah yeah. Sam walks out of the bathroom and tells Dean that Sam wants to go with them to look for dad. Dean is concerned and tells him that if Sam is strapped for cash for a new apartment that Dean keeps an emergency stash and it should be good for a deposit, first and last on a small apartment. Sam says theres no way in hell he can just go back to school. Dean is still hesitant but Sam insists he wants to go because he wants to find dad and then hunt down whatever killed their mom and Jess with him. He says that he owes it to Jess and he won't be able to live with himself if he doesn't avenge her. Dean and Adam exchange glances but Dean eventually just nods his head and says alright. He tells them both they'll stick around for one more day so Adam can take his test in the morning and they can do some reasearch on the area first. Sam argues they don't know what happened to dad and they could be wasting time Dad doesn't have sitting around, getting irritated and raising his voice. He kind of yells that Adam's test can't be so important they should put off something so important like going to their dad and for the first time in a long time, Dean is not moved by his arguing. Dean looks at Sam with harsh and somewhat cold eyes and very firmly states that Adam needs to take his test, and Dean needs to do research because he isn't taking his two brothers into who knows what blind. Especially when one has been out of the field for 4 years and the other is child which Adam is like "Hey wtf I didn't say anything, why are you bringing me into this" Dean kind of smirks at Adam and tells him to go back to his translations if he's bored enough to but into conversations and Adam goos naturedly grumbles but does end up back at the table, large array of archaic tomes spread all over the table. Sam, who was struck somewhat dumb at not getting his way, scowls but doesn't try to fight with his brother. His brother had rarely ever told him no or not given him what he wanted if he wanted something badly enough, but the few times he did Dean wouldn't be budged. So Sam cast a reproachful glare at the teenager sitting at the table and passive aggressively went to bed
After Sam ends up joining them on the road Adam and Sam clash because Sam is so disapproving of Adam living this way and Adam pretty much hates Sam for the way he treats Dean. Sam is also upset that Dean is still dragging Adam around and Dean refuses to listen to Sam about it as long as Adam is happy. Sam is also just kind of miserable because his fiance just died
I just really want a fic with three of them working together.
anyway, that's all 8 of them!
Let me know what you think!
Supernatural 2
Alright, here's the second fic idea I have for spn. This one is inspired by Unexpected Destinies by otpdestiel on Livejournal, but personally I think I've changed it enough to say it's it's own story.
Starts at the end of Season 6, Episode 1, Exile on Main St.
No soulless sam, just kind of dickhead sam, thinking he knows best for Dean.
Dean goes back to Lisa and Ben and feels a lot of anger and resentment towards his brother for being back for a year and not saying anyhting to him and being replaced so easily by the Campbell's in Sam's eye.
Cas, who has kept small feelers out to make sure Dean is okay, feels Dean's intense and painful emotions and goes to him immediately, keeping himself invisible because he doesn't want to interfere in Dean's new life unless it's necessary to keep him alive. Dean has been Cas's inspiration for all of his hard work in Heaven and his source of determination when the civil war started in Heaven and he has stopped in for short periods of time when Dean was alone just to take in his presence.
When Cas arrives Dean is telling Lisa and Ben it may be best if he just sets some wards and hex bags to keep Lisa and Ben safe and then have him move on because he doesn't want to put them in danger. Lisa is sad but seems understanding about what Dean is saying. Ben is sad and doesn't want Dean to leave but ultimately understands. He makes Dean promise to call him ever day and come visit him whenever he's nearby. Dean tells Ben he'll be a part of Ben's life for as long as he wants and his mother will allow and then Lisa and Dean send Ben upstairs.
Lisa asks about what's going on once Ben's bedroom door is closed upstairs and Dean very briefly explains how Sam has been alive for the past year and has been hunting with their mother's family and their dead and now back grandfather and how Bobby (someone Dean and told Lisa mutlitple times over the last year was practically his surrogate father) knew the entire time. Lisa takes a minture to wrap her brain around that and Cas is appalled and what he hears. He left Sam here, practically on Lisa's doorstep so he could be with Dean immediately. After that the only time he checked on Dean was specifically when he was alone so he never noticed that Sam wasn't around and he's even more angry with Bobby. Lisa tells Dean that was shitty of them to do and Dean laughs brokenly and agrees. Lisa asks how Dean is and Dean tells her truthfullly he;s doing terrible but he was starting to get the itch to hunt again and was contemplating asking her what she would think of him doing it with cicero as a homebase anyway, just maybe with his own house a bit outside of town so he wasn't so conspicuous but now he thinks it might be better for him to just go for awhile.
Lisa tells Dean that she knows that their partnership during the last year has been one of the best friendships of her life and Dean's help in raising Ben the last year is something that couldn't be repaid. She asks where he'll go after this and Dean says he isn't entirely sure yet but he'll make sure to let her know. Dean thanks Lisa for being the kind of friend he needed this year and teaching him it was okay to not be in a relationnship and also for putting up with his nightmares and his research into the occult on the weekends. Lisa remind Dean that the door is always open for him and she expects him to visit as often as possible and to call her once a week and text her every dya.
Lisa tells Dean that for what it's worth she thinks him getting a house outside of town still sounds like a good idea because then Ben will still have Dean mostly around. Dean nods and says he'll think about it but he still may go off for a bit just to make sure nothing is on his tail at the moment. She tells him that's fine but to remember they love him and want nhim in their life. Dean gets choked up and says he'll remember and tells her that he'll set the wards and make the hex bags and fetishes for them and their workplace and school the next day.
Dean goes up to his bedroom and Cas makes himself appear to Dean. Dean is cold at first but Cas immediately apologizes. He tells Dean how he got Sam out but he brought him here immediately and left him right in front of Lisa's house and thought Sam would go inside to see Dean at once so he didn't stick around because he was busy with stuff in Heaven. Dean acknowledges Cas's apology and tells him its fine but he's still kind of tense around Cas so Cas asks what's wrong. Dean tells him that he's still kind of upset that Cas just stopped showing up. Obviously he had the time to break Sam out and he's here now and obviously had a way to check if Dean was alright but never bothered to stop in just to say hey or anything. Cas is confused and says how he was doing stuff in Heaven and how he thought Dean would be happy to not be involved in the shit storm up there and not have angels dicking off in his life. Dean tells him he still wanted to see Cas. How Cas was his friend and he cared about him and watching him die in Stull, only to have him flash in for a moment and flash away again felt like shit. He'd spent a lot of the last year worrying over Cas and wanting to know if he's okay or just how things are. Cas is like "oh" and then is like "I never heard a prayer from you tho" and Dean is like "oh right"
After a bit if an awkward silence Cas asks what Dean is going to do next and Dean tells him he isn't sure. He'll do his hex bags and wards over the next few days and when he isn't busy start looking around online to find a case. They talk and as they do Dean express his frustatrion with not knowing what was going on with Sam and why he would decide to just ditch Dean for a year and why his mother's family seems to think he's so much lesser of a person, thinking about Gwen's comment about his "delicate features." Cas asks why he doesn't just ask Sam and Dean tells him that was the first thing he did when Sam showed back up and he tried the entire drive from Cicero to Sioux Falls and back. Both times. But Sam wouldn't budge. He also wouldn't talk about his time in the cage. Cas cuts in and tells Dean that Cas took the memories of the cage from Sam when he pulled him out because he knows how hard it's been for Dean living with those memories and he figured Dean and Sam would both appreciate Sam not having to remember. Dean thanks Cas and tells him he does appreciate him looking out for Sam like that.
Eventually Dean remembers Chuck and asks Cas if he knows where Chuck is and Cas gives him the address and he tells Cas he's going to go find Chuck when he leaves Cicero
Dean spends a few days setting up permanent salt lines and devil's traps and and hex bags that link to create wards all around Lisa and Ben's house, Lisa's workplace and Ben's school. He also makes hexbags and fetishes for them to each keep in their purse or backpack. He gifts Lisa with a small handgun and two magazines of bullets, one of pure silver and one as consecrated iron. He gives Ben a silver ring and a small silver pocket knife. He tells them he's ditching the phone he's had while living with them but got a new phone number just for the two of them that'll be separate from hutning and tells them to call and text whenever.
Dean decides to go to Chuck's house. Hoping to get some clarification as to what happened with Sam. Why he decided not to come find Deam and why he's being such a jerk. At this point he's been dodging calls and texts from both Sam and Bobby trying to get him to go hunting with them.
Once he's at Chuck's house Chuck reveals that he's God and that things didn't really go how he wanted them to. Dean asks if he really wanted the apocalypse and Chuck rushes to reassure him that no he absolutely did NOT want that, he never would have saved them when Lucifer was freed before and brought Castiel back twice and upgraded him to archangel. He also wouldn't have let Cas save Sam. But he didn't want Sam to ditch Dean and he didn't bring Samuel Campbell back to life. And now there's whispers of Eve being brought back from Purgatory and Purgatory itself being opened.
Dean asks why chuck doesn't just snap his fingers and fix everything if it's such an issue/ Chuck tells Dean he can't because otherwise that wouldn't be free will. Dean argues that Chuck got involved by being Chuck Shurley in the first place, writing about their lives and then saving them and stuff. Chuck tells him that he helped them, he saved them from death and he gave them help, but he didn't directly fix things. He tells Dean that if Dean hadn't come to him soon he would've tried to find a way to get Dean there anyway because at this rate, Eve would be free and Purgatory would be cracked before anyone was even aware which could be disastrous.
Dean says he can't do something this big on his own and he can't hunt with Sam or the Campbells or even Bobby because he doesn't trust any of them anymore, so maybe he should call them. Chuck tells Dean that he can't work so directly with anyone but Dean. Dean asks why the hell not and Chuck explains how Dean is the only one who could work directly with God and not feel like that makes him hot shit. He is the Righteous Man and he'll do what needs to be done and save everyone he can along the way. Chuck wants to give Dean some special gifts to help since Dean is alone for the moment and these gifts would be misused by anyone other than Dean, especially Sam and the campbell's.
Dean asks about these gifts and Michael and Raphael pop into existence both looking like giant sulking toddlers. Dean doesn't recognize Michael right away but he recognizes Raphael. He starts cursing and pulls his gun and aims it at the two angels. Raphael rolls his eyes and taints Dean and asks what he thinks a gun is going to do to him and Chuck tells Raphael that the bullets are made from an angel blade and would cause quite a lot of pain with a giant smile on his face before Dean can say anything causing Raphael's mouth to gape.
Chuck tells Dean that he's gifting the two archangels to him and Dean is immediately like hell no which offends them both. Chuck tells Dean he understands Dean has a rough history with both of them but he believes that Dean would be a good influence on them, just like he has been on Castiel. This provokes Raphael into speaking, not necessarily against their father, but wondering how Castiel could have been in the right if Raphael and Michael were doing exactly as God wanted and starting the apocalypse. Things kind of take of from there
Slowburn friendship Dean and Raphael.
Actually pretty quick friendship Dean and Michael
Jealous and possessive Cas about Dean becoming friends with Michael so fast.
Powerful Dean
Purgatory exploration
Dean and Benny bromance
More jealous and Possessive Cas
Just when he gets used to the idea of Dean being friends with michael and Raph, Benny shows up and Cas is finally like, ah, so I want to fuck the guy.
Charlie finds her way into this too because I genuienly just love Charlie and Dean's friendship.
One more fic left to post about!
Let me know what you think!
Supernatural 1
Okay, there's only three fics left to post about. All three are Spn fics 😂 this one is a time travel/fix it one.
Starts at the end of season 8, with the angels falling.
Chuck shows up, reveals himself as God to Dean, who takes it about as well as can be expected.
Dean tells Chuck he has to fix this, Sam is almost dead, the angels are falling, he has no clue where Cas is, everything is a mess and Dean doesn't know where to start with fixing everything. Chuck tells him he can't just fix everything like that. Dean get mouthy like he usually does and basically asks like, "What, you don't got the juice now or something?" and Chuck is like "lol I could literally wipe this galaxy from existence with barely a thought" so Dean gets more bratty and is like *stomps foot* "then fix it"
Chuck explains that he can help in round about ways, like bringing Cas back to life after Rafael killed him and then bringing Cas back and giving him an upgrade in power when Lucifer killed him at Stull Cemetery. But he can't just fix things for everyone. The whole point of Earth and Humanity is that they have free will, something no other creation was given before Earth and it's inhabitants. If Chuck were to fix everything, he'd have to take complete control of everything and there would be no more free will, which is basically the whole point of the Apocalypse that Sam and Dean fought so hard to stop. Dean kind of deflates and is like, "okay.. Well than why are you here?"
Chuck tells Dean he wants to try to help again, but in a different way than before. He wants to send Dean back in time to a point he believes would make the biggest impact on the way things have turned out. Dean is all like, "whoa wait, I've already done the whole time travel thing and I thought that was like, a big no no" and chuck is like, well yeah if you don't want to change the future you have to be careful, but the whole point in sending you back is to change the future. Plus I'm god and I say it's fine.
Dean is like, "um… alright I guess…" and then wants to know if Chuck is going to deal Sam and Chuck is like oh no Sam isn't going back with you. Dean is like "WHY" and Chuck tells him Sam's soul is too damaged at the moment to time travel and they don't have the time to wait for him to heal and Chuck needs all his power to do what he has planned. So Dean is like so I'm going back alone??? And Chuck is like no no, I'm planning to send you with a present. Dean is still like "uh…." but from one moment to the next he's in a random motel room somewhere and he's trying to figure when exactly he is.
While Dean is searching for a phone or something to tell him the date, he hears that wing flapping sound and turns quickly, expecting to find a douche with wings, only for Cas to be there. Dean is all happy and throws his arms around Cas and huhs him and Cas kind of awkwardly pats him on the back in return. Dean asks what Cas is doing there and if he knows the date. Cas says it's October 24th, 2005. Dean immediately realizes when Chuck has sent him back to, exactly one week before he goes back to Stanford to get Sam to go with him to look for their dad and the Woman in White case and he's kind of thrown. He was expecting for the time Cas sent him back to either be closer to their time, like maybe when he got out of Hell or before the thing with Leviathans, but the more he thinks about it, this actually does make the most sense since this is when everything kind of kick starts.
Dean isn't entirely sure what to do in the long run, there was so much that had happened in the 8 years since he first went searching for his father with his brother, he and Sam had documented most of it, but Dean has no idea if any of their stuff was sent back with him. He has a little nervous breakdown about how he's lost access to the bunker and his bedroom there.
Before Dean can spiral too far Cas starts talking and tells Dean that he has been given another upgrade and is part of Dean's "present" doing the whole quotations thing with his fingers.
Dean kind of laughs but is like okay well whats the rest of it. Cas tells him he isn't allowed to tell him until they do whatever thing Dean is supposed to be very anxious to go do. Dean stops to think about it and realizes that there is something that had immediately begun nagging at him from the moment he learned the date. He wants to save Jess. Dean tells Cas and Cas is like "k, cool, what do we do?" and Dean is like, "Are you supposed to go like, report to Heaven first?" and Cas is like "Nope, I'm all yours. No longer just an angel of Heaven, I'm an angel of you" Dean is kind of like 😶 "….I'll freak out about that later"
Dean tells Cas they need to go to California immediately and starts packing up the motel room. They head straight to Jericho and Dean asks if Cas can find a spirit even if it's hidden and destroy it and Cas is like yes duh. So they find the Woman in White and Dean asks Cas to fly to his dads motel room and gather the evidence he left there as well as his dad's journal and just leave everything else. Cas does as Dean asks and then they're on their way to Palo Alto.
Dean explains about Brady being the demon that kills Jess so they decide to hunt the dude down, exercise the demon and tell Sam and then try to figure out how to keep him and Jess safe.
Dean and Cas find Brady and manage to successfully surprise him and get a full exorcism done and Cas captures the demon essence before it can go back to hell, but they don't kill it yet. Cas heals the damage to Brady the demon caused before he could be exercised and puts Brady to sleep in his bedroom. Dean attempts to call Sam, already knowing how that was likely to go. When Sam didn't answer Dean decides he'll have to go over to his brother's place. Cas doesn't know why Dean seems so nervous since the Sam and Dean he knows are so close and Dean tries to explain how he and his brother hadn't spoken in two years at this time which just makes Cas sad.
Dean remembers how his brother reacted the first time he came in the middle of the night and broke in, so this time Dean goes during the early evening, Dean tells Cas he can't come with them, but Cas doesn't feel right letting Dean be alone when going into a place that demons obviously know about, so he tells Dean he'll stay invsible and intagible, but he's staying with Dean and Dean is like "whatever floats your boat dude"
Jess answers the door when Dean knocks and when he says he's Dean's brother she gets super excited because she's always wanted to meet Sam's brother. She doesn't even call for Sam, she just pulls Dean inside and has him sit on the couch and starts asking his name and profession and about a ,illion other questions all at once and before Dean can even start answering, Sam comes into the living room asking who was at the door and kind of freezes when he sees Dean awkwardly smiling and sitting at the very edge of his couch. It's only for a moment though before he immediately gets angry and tells Dean he can't be there and he needs to leave right away.
This sparks an argument between Jess and Sam because Sam has always talked about how Dean and him were so close when they were younger and hated the distance between them now but obviously Sam can't tell her about hunting so she has no clue why they're not close anymore, but she always assumed Dean had done something and Sam was waiting for an apology and now Dean was here but Sam isn't even giving him a chance.
Dean kind of buts himself into the conversation and is like "look I didn't mean to cause a fight, I just needed to talk to Sam for a moment about something I recently found out and he didn’t answer when I called, so here I am"
Eventually Dean gets to talk to Sam and Jess goes to another room to give them privacy. While Dean is explaining about Brady being possessed by a demon, Jess comes running into the room saying she just got a call from her mother that something is wrong with her brother and as she's finishing speaking, Cas pops into the room which cause Sam and Jess to freakout. Before Sam can try to punch Cas, Dean yells for everyone to stop for a moment and tells Cas to report. Cas tells Dean that when brady didn't check in another demon went and possessed Jess's brother and he was now on his way here to basically finish their plans early.
Jess's brother blinks into the room, eyes black, and Cas and Dean immediately set to work exercising him and capturing the demon essence. Eventually Jess's brother is freed and healed, and Cas puts him to sleep too. Dean asks him to go grab the other body and put them both in the impala for now until they could take them somewhere safe to wake them up and alter their memories. Cas agrees and flies away. Jess has stopped screaming and crying and is now just kind of staring off into space, Sam is demanding answers. Dean tells Sam he can't tell him anything here but if he and Jess want to keep living they'll come with Cas and Dean for now. Sam can tell that Dean is very serious so he agrees and walks over to the front hallway and pulls out two duffle bags and sets them on the couch and then walks to the bedroom and comes back with an assortment of knives and guns and shoves them into one of the bags and a pretty silver box. Jess finally snaps out of it and is like "Do you have oh shit bags ready for both of us???" and Sam is like yeah.
They all go to a motel an hour away from Palo Alto, on the ride Dean does his best to explain about the demons after Sam and Cas being an angel but he isn't really sure Jess is taking anything in and Sam went oddly quiet after hearing the demons were there because of him. Cas went ahead of them to demon and angel proof a room so when they get there they go right inside. It's a double and each bed holds an unconscious person. Jess asks if her brother will be okay and Dean says yes, Cas has already healed him and soon will wipe his memories of being possessed and then he'll take him home to wake up there. Same thing with Brady except he'll also plant a flase memory of hacing been a bit depressed and now coming out of it to explain the foggy memories.
Sam has problems with that because he doesn't think it's fair to leave them without knowledge when they could be possessed again. Dean shows Sam the anti possession tattoo he has and says that Cas is going to put this on the bones of each of them as well as each person in Jess's family so they won't be possessed and he's going to put sigils on their bones too to keep them from being scried for. Sam is against it because he thinsk it's wrong to modify their bodies without consent. Dean agrees that usually he'd never do something like that, but telling that many people about demons and expecting them to keep it to themselves and also to leave the supernatural alone isn't a good idea and they can't leave these people as sitting ducks to get possessed again. Jess is like, they're my family and although I still don't really know what's going on I want them to be safe, so do it.
Cas does and Dean tells them they need to get the same carvings done too and they also may want to consider moving since demons know where they live. This goes into the rest of the fic
Dean and Jess become really good friends, which frightens sam.
Sam has a hard time trusting Cas, Dean is so different than he was when Sam last saw him and he blames that on Cas.
Sam fights the instinct to join his brother hunting
Dean moves back into the bunker.
He ends up finding Charlie again and she quickly comes becomes a big part of his life,
ect
I think Jess and Dean being friends would be hilarious. I also think Sam going from "my brother isn't the same and it's all your fault" to "you're just a silly goody dude aren't you" is hilarious. Tbh I think this fic will be one of the shorter ones since with an overpowered Cas at his side, Dean can kinda do anything.
anyway, stay tuned for the other two fics and let me know what you think
Stray Kids
Alright, this will be under the continue reading bar because the fic has mentions of SA.
Merlin
Okay so main tags for this one are: A/B/O, arranged marriage, Balinor lives, Dragonlord culture, Alpha Arthur, Omega Merlin, BAMF Merlin, Kilgarrah is disguised as a cat by episode 2.
Here is my rough outline for the Prologue.
Tells the backstory of how everything came to be as it is now.
Balinor goes back to Hunith several months after he fled to say a final goodbye and finds her pregnant so he makes the choice to stay.
When Merlin is around 5 or 6 Uther's men chase a sorcerer into Ealdor, basically burning down over half of the village in the process, and kill him and several of the knights recognize Balinor and make an attempt to capture him again. Balinor gathers Hunith and Merlin and they flee to the forest at the base of the Feorreh Mountains, near Engerd in Ascetir. They build a small shelter for themselves and set about finding ways to survive. Within a couple weeks several families from Ealdor who had lost their homes follow rumors and make their way to the same forest and they basically rebuild their village in that forest, Balinor and Merlin use their magic to help their crops grow and support their village until it's established enough to flourish on its own. A few other magic users over the years hear of Balinor's village (who has unwittingly become the Headman) and they begin referring to the village as Noddfa (Sanctuary in Welsh) and that becomes the name of the village.
Because of the need for the village and just because it is how all dragonlords live, Balinor teaches Merlin about his magic from the moment he displays it and teaches him what it means to be a dragonlord. Hunith and Balinor figure out pretty early on that Merlin and his magic are very different and more powerful than they've heard of before and Balinor has heard the prophecy of Emrys and the Once and Future King and begins to suspect that Merlin is Emrys but it isn't confirmed until a couple of years after founding Noddfa when a small band of Druids make their way to the village and feel the presence of Emrys and confirm Balinor's suspicions and also tell him that Arthur Pendragon is the Once and Future King. Balinor and Hunith both agree that it is too early to tell Merlin all of this and so they continue to raise him to know his power, but also how to hide himself, knowing he would eventually have to go to Camelot.
Merlin learns about Kilgharrah from his father and longs to free the Dragon. He is not yet a dragonlord but he swears there is a part of him that searches for the dragon and he can almost feel the heaviness of chains as though he were the one bound and buried under Uther's castle. When Merlin is 16, he overhears his mother and father talking about an uncle who lives in Camelot and whether or not it would be wise to send Merlin to see him or ask for Gaius to come to them and learn a bit more about healing magic as his was the best they had ever witnessed, but they're reluctant to send an unmated omega to a large city by himself, let alone a warlock without full control of his powers. Merlin begs to visit his uncle for at least a couple of weeks and his parents only agree once they decide Will and a druid who decided to make a home in Noddfa named Percival can and will go as his guardians which Merlin is annoyed by, but agrees so he can go.
Merlin eventually goes to Camelot and spends 2 weeks there with his uncle learning the basics of healing magic and making plans to come back a couple times a year to work on that magic or having Gaius come to Noddfa so they can work more openly. (He runs into Arthur and has his first meetings with him them same as in the show, but there is no banquet with Lady Helen yet, that banquet will be the one to welcome Balinor and his family to Camelot and Merlin will save Arthur then. Arthur also believes Merlin to be a beta because Merlin was covering up his scent to attract less attention) The last day of his trip to Camelot, Merlin goes to find the Great Dragon and introduces himself. Kilgharrah makes cryptic comments about Merlin and his future but because Merlin has grown up with his father and the druids saying vague things he just ignores Kilgharrah and presses on. Shows the dragon his own dragon soul, underdeveloped though it is, and Kilgharrah immediately takes to him and thinks of him as a baby dragon from his own family. Merlin talks Kilgharrah into making a solemn vow in the name of the Triple Goddess not to harm anyone in Camelot and to go straight to the mountains where his family lives and Balinor will give him refuge and then sets the dragon free. (No need for a specific sword, just lots of raw magic)
All of Camelot witnesses Kilgharrah being set free and although he does no harm, it sends the city into a tizzy. Uther starts to try and figure out a plan to protect them from the dragon because he's convinced that the dragon will eventually return with reinforcements (because he's not naïve enough to truly believe that he killed all of the dragons in the entire world) and burn Camelot to the ground as revenge for killing his kin in and around Camelot. He remembers the last dragonlord and how his men lost him in Ascetir nearly 10 years ago. He sends Arthur to find Balinor and ask for a meeting.
Arthur takes Leon and Kay with him and they go in plain clothes as sellswords and spend a few weeks traveling around Ascetir before hearing about Noddfa. It isn't common knowledge that Noddfa is magic friendly unless you hear about the town from another magic user. Most people just know it as a funny out of the way village full of people who keep to themselves and no one quite knows when it was founded or how it stays afloat so far out of the way. Arthur approaches the small village with caution and asks the first person he runs across, an young boy named Arrol, if there is a Balinor in their village and the boy very excitedly takes them towards a hut on the other end of the Village, slightly larger than the others and set just off of the village enough to appear separate while remaining part of the village. Arthur assumes Balinor must be the leader of their village. Upon knocking, Hunith answers the door and he asks to speak with Balinor. She tells him that Balinor is out in one of the caves with their son and Arthur asks for directions so that they may speak and Hunith tells him no, he must wait for them to return at sundown. Arthur agrees and leaves and waits in the center of the village, watching children play and keeping his distance so none of the villagers would think he was up to no good.
At sundown Arthur and his men return to Balinor's house and knock and this time the door is answered by the beta boy Arthur had run into in Camelot some weeks back and Arthur is immediately intrigued and also vaguely annoyed to see him. Merlin is panicked, but before he can ask what Arthur is doing there Arthur is kind of like "what the hell are you doing here? Is this a joke?" Balinor hears the commotion and comes over, pissed that someone is speaking that way to his son. Arthur kind of realizes Merlin is an omega and now the boy's Alpha father is scowling at him and he's like "oh, sorry, uh, are you Balinor?" and Balinor is like "who's asking" still upset.
Arthur apologizes and says he was just surprised to run into Merlin here of all places since he met him in Camelot, and he was also under the impression Merlin was a beta. Merlin tells his dad (in another language) to let up on Arthur and that he had kind of pissed him off when Merlin met the guy in Camelot. Balinor kind of grunts but ends up letting the knights in and Arthur delivers his message from Uther, apologizing and asking for Balinor to come to Camelot so they can work out something as an apology.
Balinor wants to say no immediately but with a glance at Hunith knows she's thinking the same thing he is, which is that they always knew Merlin would need to go to Camelot eventually and they had always assumed he'd have to go alone. If they can get this worked out, maybe they could be there with him and continue to guide him as he learned and protect him if things went wrong.
Balinor also has a suspicion he knows why Uther has sent word so shortly after Kilgarrah has come to them and he knows Uther needs him far more than he needs Uther so he tells Arthur that as things stand, he will never return to Camelot without some kind of assurance he won't be killed as soon as he steps foot in the city.
Arthur is offended that Balinor would suggest his father would offer him to talk and then strike a man when his guard is down, Balinor just kind of looks at him with pitying eyes and tells Arthur to talk to Geoffrey and Gaius and ask for records of the Purge and what he did to other dragonlords, to push them if he needs to, but to find and read those records. Then he tells Arthur he will consider meeting with Uther and coming to an accords, but it must be in a neutral location, not within Camelot's territory and their must be witnesses for an official peace treaty, or he won't even consider speaking to Uther, let alone setting foot in Camelot.
Arthur returns to Camelot worried and curious. He relays Balinor's message to Uther, then checks with Gaius and Geoffrey about the records that Balinor told him about and after some cajoling, they give him the records and explain that time to him. He finds that what Balinor said was true and Arthur argues about the sanctity of one's word and how as knights they must honor their promises and be forthcoming. And as monarchs, they should lead their people by example. Uther is upset at being lectured by his son but knows he is right so they work together and find a meeting place on the border of Camelot and Ascetir, in Nemeth. Uther will bring Geoffrey with them and some of his coucilmen to record the interaction and to officiate any agreements they come to and asks Balinor to bring a record keeper of his own as well as his family if he would like.
After Uther hears that Balinor has an omega son he starts to scheme of a way to make Balinor loyal to Camelot.
Arthur travels back to Noddfa and meets with Balinor againt. At first Balinor resists the idea of meeting Uther but eventually Balinor gives in and agrees to meet Uther under official banners. (This is when Merlin finds out his father is the Prince of a kingdom in the North, Uí Néill and there's a whole backstory to that, which makes Merlin a prince)
Arthur sends a missive to his father via messenger and stays with them in Noddfa for a week while Balinor arranges their party and then guides them to the meeting spot. Merlin and Arthur seem to rub each other the wrong way a lot of the time and although Merlin tries to mostly ignore Arthur, Arthur needles him in just the right way to get a pretty big snap back occasionally. Balinor doesn't take kindly to an alpha showing so much interest in his son and tends to keep Will and Percival close to Merlin. They bring Iseldir as their officiant.
Uther doesn’t like that their officiant is a druid and magic user because he doesn't trust magic, but Balinor tells him that Iseldir is an officiant from Ui Neill on behalf of King Darragh and Balinor will not even consider talking without him there. Iseldir promises not to use any magic on or around Uther or Arthur during their meeting to ensure they all come to a peaceful resolution. Uther gives Balinor a formal apology that doesn't actually apologize for anything about lying and trapping Kilgharrah and then hunting Balinor down and then talks about how there are hard times for all to bear witness to and Balinor is proven correct that Uther wants to talk and make an agreement so that Balinor will protect Camelot from Kilgharrah should he return, which makes Balinor laugh because he knows his son has already extracted a very powerful vow from the dragon not to harm those who would not harm him and in the few short weeks the dragon has made a home of their mountain, he has already come to see Merlin as a hatchling to nurture and protect and follows his commands as surely as he follows Balinor's. Balinor od course says nothing about this and isntead asks what Uther's idea is as neither of them trust the other. Uther distrusts Balinor because he is a dragonlord which means even outside of practicing the Old Religion, he has a dragon soul which is a type of magic. Balinor distrusts Uther because last time uther asked for cooperation and peace, it ended in disaster for him and his kin. Uther rambles a bit about how they each love their family and so the only way he can see for them to come to an agreement is bind their families through mating, gesturing to Arthur and Merlin. Arthur is appalled and although he doesn't say anything outright his face twists in distaste, Merlin grabs the back of his father's shirt and looks scared but also says nothing. Balinor says that this is something he needs to think on and asks to meet again the next day in the same clearing. Uther is disgruntled about having to spend a night outside his kingdom's borders, but agrees.
Balinor and Hunith gather Iseldir and Merlin in their tent where Merlin proceeds to freak out about not wanting to get mated and how he's only just full presented in the last year and how he doesn’t want to hide his magic from his mate and how annoying Arthur is until Hunith shushes him and hugs him and insists they need to at least discuss the idea together and how sorry she is that it's come to this. Balinor asks Iseldir if he knew this would happen and if he knew that Balinor would be made to sell his own son to "that blasted Pendragon." Iseldir insists that he only ever knew the prophecy as Balinor did, that it spoke of the great future that Emrys and the Once and Future King would bring together, how they are two half of a whole and that a mating, while not what they had originally thought, did make sense.
Merlin begins to insist that maybe he isn't Emrys and how can they be so sure that's him and as he gets more upset a storm starts to gather outside until Merlin scares himself into stopping ranting by lightning striking just outside their tent and making everyone jump and all of the adults give him chiding but pitying looks that pretty much say that yeah he's Emrys because no one should be able to do that just by getting upset and losing a grasp on their power. A small fire or explosion? Sure. But not full on effecting the elements and weather. Hunith reminds Merlin that Arthur is the Once and Future King, destined to bring magic back to Albion so even if he has to hide his magic now, he won't have to forever. And if he and Arthur are to be mated, he'll have the ability as Prince Consort to affect change throughout the land and make Albion a safe haven for all the creatures of the Old Religion.
Merlin is basically like, "that's great and everything, BUT HE'S AN ASS" so before he can take off on another rant about how annoying the "clotpole" is, Balinor breaks in and insists that Merlin is too young to be mated and he has no idea how to live as a consort and all the duties that entails and although he is learned and well read in magic, he knows nothing of the laws of men and surely him becoming a consort with no learning would only bring down Uther's ire to him and that would make Merlin unsafe. They also have no lodgings or means to obtain lodgings within Camelot. and Merlin is all like "yeah what he said"
Iseldir points out that Uther needs them far more than they need him and tells Balinor to have Uther write a law abiding contract that all parties will sign just as the king and queens do when arranging marriages for their children. Arthur is Prince of Camelot but Merlin is also royalty in his own right, not only is he Emrys, but Balinor was next in line for the throne of Northern Ui Neill (modern day Northern Ireland because I stan an Irish Merlin) before Balinor came to Camelot at Uther's request. Merlin asks what their house name was and Balinor tells him it was Ambrosius, which come from the dragon language and means "divine" or "immortal". Iseldir continues on and tells Balinor to add into the agreement that Merlin cannot be fully mated until he reaches his majority at 18 and until then they can do partial bonding with a scent bond and claiming bite from Arthur to Merlin (full mated bonds don't set until both partners give and receive a mating bite and consummate the bond) and Merlin can spend that time taking lessons and learning how to be a consort and that until then, they do not want to foster Merlin so they require adequate lodgings to stay with their son. (possibly add a scene of Arthur and Uther talking and how upset Arthur is to not have been consulted about this and how he wants to marry for love as Uther did with Ygraine and Uther pretty much tells him to get over it and to think of the well being of Camelot and it's citizens and how it's no different than arranging a marriage for land or an alliance with another kingdom. Arthur thinks to himself that although Merlin is an omega, he's still a guy and Arthur hasn't ever been attracted to a guy and despairs at being in a relationship where they need people on the side because it goes against his code of honor but doesn’t see how they can be happy long term without that kind of arrangement and he's basically just big sad because all of his expectations for a mate are dying in front of him and there isn't much he can do)
The next day everyone meets again, Balinor brings up all of the points that Iseldir made the night before, adding in that although he knows it isn't common for an omega to fight or train, in the dragonlord culture, as the oldest male, he's expected to continue his training and if Uther won't let Balinor continue to raise Merlin as he sees fit, they’ll leave right then. Uther very reluctantly agrees and tells Balinor that he cannot use magic in Camelot and that he has a close friend who is "reformed" and he can overlook the usage in the past for am oath not to use magic of the Old Religion from now on and asks about Merlin and Hunith not using it either. Balinor makes a pledge not to use the magic of the Old Religion and tells Uther that Hunith has never used magic and Merlin has not inherited his gift (carefully worded because Balinor still uses *his* magic which isn't technically magic of the Old religion, it's dragon magic, which is different enough not to count, and Merlin hasn't actually inherited the gift of controlling dragons yet, even though he has a dragon soul it isn't full realized yet and his magic is firmly cemented in the Old Religion so the magic he uses every day si not inherited from his father.) Uther asks if they can use cold iron to check them both and Balinor allows one of the knights to come over and press a piece of cold iron to the inside of each of their wrists and the only reason Merlin doesn't make a sound or flinch is because his father feared this would happen one day and has had Merlin practice touching cold iron for years.
After the testing is concluded Uther agrees to pretty much all of their demands but adds a clause about Merlin getting check ups regularly to be sure he can bear Arthur heirs which makes Arthur and Merlin both blush but Balinor agrees. Uther tries to get them to go back with them to Camelot now but Balinor insists his son will go no where near Camelot until the agreement is written and signed so he may be safe and Uther will not begrudge him the safety of his child. They agree to meet back in this clearing in a fortnight to sign the documents and for Merlin and Arthur to begin their scent bond and have Arthur bite Merlin in front of witnesses as well as have his first check up with Gaius before they all travel together to make it back to Camelot where Uther will plan a welcome banquet and announcement of Arthur's engagement as well as Merlin's introduction to court all rolled into one and he will call Lady Helen of Mora to come be their special singer.
Chapter ends here and next chapter is the episode The Dragon's Call.
Okay I think that's right. Just so you know, I'm copy and pasting these from my OneNote and then carefully reading through and editing or adding little bits ive changed in my head since originally writing this, which is a bit tedious, but is also fun!
Let me know what you think!
Harry Potter/Twilight crossover
Okay so this one is definitely more for fun and probably wouldn't be too awfully serious in the long run.
Overall theme: Harry ends up in Forks, meets Jasper, finds out they're mates, and because of that he keeps getting dragged into Edward and Bella's problems. He does as little as possible to interfere, believing it's not his place an an immortal being with an unlimited amount of magic and power, so he ends up just kind of facepalming at some of the things they decide to do.
takes place in modern day 2025, so it's been over 25 years since the Battle of Hogwarts and all that.
Harry leaves the wizarding world looking for peace after his friendship with Hermione and Ron blows up and ends up Forks after finding out there's a much more hidden than usual property there with intact wards.
The Twilight timeline has moved so that the summer Harry shows up is the summer after Twilight and before New Moon, so Bella and Edward are already being awful and clingy together, there is no averting the crisis of them getting together before it's started.
Harry has spent the last 25 years working as an Unspeakable, focusing mainly on creature research, he knew the vampires (not vampires) and the werewolves (guardian spirits) lived in Forks before he moved and decided he'd do research on them for the next few decades before moving on to another location.
Master of Death Harry. He kind of finds that out by accident shortly after the Battle of Hogwarts when a small number of leftover Death Eaters attempt to attack those working to rebuild the wards around Hogwarts and stabs Harry in the heart. He dies in front of all the volunteers there, including most of the Weasley Family, Hermione, Neville and Ron, among others. And then miraculously ends up coming back to life like, less than 30 seconds later. Well, 30 seconds in real world time, it was much longer for Harry and he meets Death for the first time during that time, has a talk with the dude and finds out he's immortal and powerful and he'll only get more powerful as time goes on.
Harry is kind of in denial about this because Death pretty much told him he'd eventually leave his loved ones behind and spend an eternity with Death as his closest companion. Then he dies again, spends time with Death again and Death starts teaching him what exactly death is and what it means and how important it is for the world and healing and shit, they travel throughout history basically as wraiths with Death teaching Harry and during these trips, time passes and feels like years and years to Harry but in reality, is hardly any time at all. So even though everyone else thinks he almost instantly heals and "wakes up" very quickly after he dies, Harry spends an unknowable amount of time in the realm of Death. And if you're wondering why Harry would ever die so often, obviously dying and coming back to life in front of that many people has consequences and even though he and his friends asked for it to be kept secret, it was leaked and leftover Death Eaters took that as a challenge and so did a lot of other people. So Harry is regularly killed. Hermione and Ron seem to end up oddly getting used to it whereas it traumtizes Harry each time it happens and he becomes more and more of a shut in doing research.
Anyway. Harry technically works for the ICW as their version of an Unspeakable, not the Ministry of Magic, I just haven't figure out what to call that section of workers. So he can kind of live wherever he wants and do whatever he wants as long as he produces results and doesn't break the international laws they create.
Hes friends with more people than you'd expect for being a bit of a shut in. He isn't completely closed off, he raises Teddy. First, with Andromeda and him sharing custody, but she ends up pasing away when Teddy is still very young, basically of a broken heart, and Harry raises him on his own after that. Teddy calls Harry his dad, Harry calls Teddy his son. So he's socialized enough for a parent. He also is friends with pretty much everyone who fought in the war, whether that was on "his side" or the other.
He and Draco end up becoming extremely good friends when harry finds out he has responsibilites and for not only his own House, but the Black House as well. Not necessarily Lordships, but they're old families with old magic that needs maitenance and the ties that he has to Narcissa in particular are important. With Lucius in Azkaban, Narcissa revokes her married name and asks the Black family magic to accept not only her, but Draco too so that any children Draco has will continue to Black family line. Basically she's leaving her husband's family line to die. Harry, as the head of the Black family magic after Sirius died, has to work with the magic and accept her back and once she's accepted back as a member of the family, he's expected to provide for her and Draco until Draco gets his own job, but then Draco's job will feed back into the family vaults, ect, ect. It's a bunch of blah blah blah to write out now, but basically, they become family and Harry is all for all the family he can get after the end of the war. They help him fill in his gaps in education about the wizarding world and how to run a wizarding House, and help him to manage both the Black and Potter ones. Harry decides he'll run both Houses until Draco and Teddy each have their first kids and when those kids reach their majority, he'll give Draco's child the Black magic and Teddy's the Potter magic
Through Draco, Harry becomes friends with the surviving Slytherin's in his year, namely Pansy, Theo and Blaise. Harry and Theo kind of hit it off and date for a little while but eventually break up because Harry doesn't think it's fair for him to be with Theo when he'll never die, Theo kind of wants to say fuck it and let what happens, happen, but also doesn't push when Harry says he still at least wants to remain friends.
He's obviously still friends with Hermione and Ron, but they aren't as close of friends anymore after awhile. They're both not exactly happy with Harry following tradition and being the head of the Black and Potter magic and Houses and they aren't happy he's so close with Draco and other Slytherins. They don't try to make him stop or anything, but they do complain about it to him nearly every time he sees them. So eventually he starts limiting how much time he spends with them
Eventually there's a very large event that happens that thoroughly ruins their friendship in Harry's eyes, although Hermione and Ron both don't really feel they did anything wrong, which is what prompts Harry to leaving Wizarding Britain and kicks off this whole thing.
He's also still really good friends with other people he went to school with, Luna nad Neville being some of the main people, but also the rest of the Weasley's, Dean, Seamus, the Patil twins, Dennis Creevey, Susan Bones, Hannah Abbot, Justin Finch-Fletchley, Terry Boot, Michael Corner and a number of other people. People who basically saw him all the time in the castle and he was just Harry to them, not so much Harry Potter. A few had kids within the first year of the war ending and Harry and them often spent time together so Teddy could be around kids close to his own age, Harry paid for tutors and invited his friends kids to join Teddy so he wouldn't be alone.
So, although Harry is a bit of a shut in, he does have friends he sees regularlly. His plan to leave isn't necessarily about disappearing entirely, because he does want to continue to see his friends and their kids, and obviously he's staying in Teddy's life even though hes a grown adult now, it's more about just giving him an escape and space from Hermione and Ron and kind of slowly beginning to distance himself from the wizarding world so eventually, as he is immortal, he will be able to live completely outside of their soicety and move around freely.
Anyway, I know I haven't written much about the actual Twilight characters here, but that's because I spent a long time thinking over the background and why Harry would leave and what his life was like in Wizarding Britain after the war, especially if he was outted to everyone as the Master of Death so soon after the war.
Let me know what you think!
Harry Potter
Okay so this one, was originally supposed to be a word vomit of ideas but ended up being a rough outline for the beginning. I didn't feel like making up a word vomit specifically for this because I'm mainly just doing copy and paste with small edits for spelling when I notice it, so I'm going to just do this rough outline and then add a few other bullet points with some of my other ideas I have in mind for the story.
Background: The summer holiday is three months, June to September, because I need more time for Harry to work on shit. The thing with Aunt Marge happens two weeks after Harry gets back home from Hogwarts. Harry sees the dog before going on the Knight Bus just like in the book and then sees the dog again immediately the next morning when he goes into Diagon Alley to explore and notices that the dog just seems to follow him around. At first he's kind of wary but eventually decides it's just a big dog.
Sirius escapes from Azkaban after seeing a picture in the Daily Prophet, but it isn't the picture of Peter with the Weasley's that he sees, it's a picture of Golderoy Lockhart and Harry from the summer before in a new article talking about Gilderoy staying in the Janus Thickey ward at St. Mungo's.
Start: Harry is in Diagon Alley being followed by a big black dog so he decides to just bring it up to his room with him after it follows him around all day.
The next day Harry tells his new dog friend that he's going to the bank because he doesn't have any money and he wants to get some books he's never had the chance to get before and look around Diagon Alley since someone was always with him the last two years and they had always been too preoccupied to let Harry wander. The dog is far more enthusiastic about the idea than Harry expected him to be but takes the dog with him.
Upon entering Gringotts he's stopped by a goblin before he can even get up the teller and the Goblin very coldly tells Harry to follow him as his account manager would like a meeting. Harry is confused because as far as he knows, he doesn't have an account manager but the dog pushes him to follow the goblin with his giant head so Harry stumbles after him.
The Goblin takes him to a room and introduces Harry to his account manager Manager Goblin. Manager Goblin is just as cold as the first Goblin was, and basically tells Harry it's about time he came to do his blood test and claim his heir ring.
Harry is confused and tells Manager Goblin that he had no idea he was meant to do some kind of test as he had never received any kind of correspondence from Gringotts or been asked about it on his last two visits, but he apologizes anyway and asks what he needs to do. Manager Goblin is somewhat surprised by Harry's sincerity and pleased by his politeness and asks Harry, in a slightly less cold tone, why he hadn't come to get his heir ring at 11 like he was supposed to. Harry lets Manager Goblin know that he had no idea he was supposed to and also asks what exactly an heir ring is. Manager Goblin gets irritated again and asks what exactly he did during his first visit. Harry tells Manager Goblin how Hagrid brought him and how Hagrid had his key. Manager Goblin interrupts and is pissed and asks if Hagrid still has Harry's key and Harry tells him he has no idea. He was under the impression he was not allowed to have his key as he's a child. Hagrid had it his first year and last summer Molly Weasley had it and after that trip, he has no idea where it ended up, if Mrs. Weasley still has it or maybe Hagrid does again. Manager Goblin immediately sends out a message to change the lock on Harry's trust vault and have a new key made. Harry goes on to tell Manager Goblin that Griphook was the Goblin who took him to his vault the first time and Manager Goblin is angry because its standard procedure for school aged children coming to open their vault for the first time to see either a family account manager, or a new account manager and then from there he would have taken his blood test and then received his ring. He wasn't meant to be able to get into a sealed family vault without having his bloodline proven.
Harry is confused about these rings and blood test and again asks for clarification and when Manager Goblin tells him like "y'know, heir to the Potter Lordship?" and Harry is like "what lordship?" and Manager Goblin looks like he might cry. Manager Goblin demands to know who Harry's magical guardian is because he is filing an inquiry with the ministry because Harry not knowing all of this is a huge problem, not to mention keeping Gringotts from investing for the Potter family and making more gold for everyone involved.
Harry tells Manager Goblin he isn't sure if his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon would be willing to speak to him and when Manager Goblin asks why, Harry says they aren't a fan of anything magical, and Manager Goblin is confused until he realizes Harry is speaking about his muggle guardians. Manager Goblin quickly corrects Harry like "no, no child. Your magical guardian" and Harry is like "is that not them?" and Manager Goblin is like "of course not, they're not magical, who taught you about being magic growing up?" Harry gives him a funny look and is like "I learned about being a wizard from Hagrid when he came to deliver my Hogwarts letter" Manager Goblin's brain is a little broken after that statement and is like "there are literally so many things wrong with that sentence idek what to do"
Finally, Manager Goblin concludes the best way for them to continue on is to just do the blood test because it will have a lot of the information-including who Harry's Magical guardian is-that they need and Harry will finally get his heir ring.
Harry proceeds to take his blood test only to find out that he has a lot more than 1 heir ring, he has 4 (Potter, Black, Peverell, Gaunt). Dog starts jumping up and down while Manager Goblin looks poleaxed. There are also two wills that list him as beneficiary that have yet to be read.
Blood test shows Sirius Black as not only Harry's godfather, but his active magical guardian. Manager Goblin is confused because as Sirius Black has been in Azkaban this whole time he shouldn't be able to be listed as his magical guardian and someone should have brought Harry to Sirius's living relatives and had them signed off as his magical guardian. Harry explains that as far as he knows he was taken straight from Godric's Hollow to the Dursley's, his mother's muggle sister and her husband, and left there. He had never heard anythign about the magical world until he was 11 and Hagrid had to hunt him down to give him his Hogwarts letter and he had no clue who Sirius Black was.
Manager Goblin insists he had to have a magical guardian to take him to a wixen doctor to get his wixen youth vaccines as no muggle could take him. When Harry says he's never gotten any vaccinations, Manager Goblin asks how he go into Hogwarts because you have to provide a full medical record for the school hospital as a boarding school and muggle born or muggle raised children get vaccines in the first week of school. Harry insists he never got his vaccines at school and has never even been to a muggle doctor. As far as he knows his only medical records are from his stay at the end of First year after facing Voldemort and going into Magical exhaustion and last year when he had his arm bones regrown after his quidditch match.
Dog is just staring with his mouth dropped open like a human while Manager Goblin just stares at Harry.
Harry begins to feel uncomfortable after a moment or so and then Manager Goblin says Harry should get for a full health scan done soon. Harry asks if that's something he can get help with there or if he has to go figure it out on his own as he didn't even know magical vaccines were a thing up until about 5 minutes ago. Manager Goblin says yes and no and explains that they can't really help him find a wixen doctor, but they do have their own healers that could give him the medical scan. Harry says that sounds fine and Manager Goblin is surprised that Harry would want their Healers to look at him and tells Harry as much and Harry is just like, I literally have no clue what I'm doing. Harry asks if they can do it now and Manager tells him he needs a magical guardian with him. Harry asks where he can find Sirius Black then and manager has to explain everything with Sirius Black and how he's a convict.
Harry becomes upset that Sirius betrayed his parents and taking pity on the boy Manager Goblin explains how the Goblins believe Sirius may be innocent and tells him their theory about the vaults and Peter being alive since his vault is still connected to his magic. Harry asks if they ever told the Ministry their speculations and Manager Goblin says that someone did but because the Ministry sees creatures as lesser than them, they dismissed Goblin magic as having been faulty and ignored them. Manager Goblin also says he doesn't remember there ever being an official trial for Sirius anyway and that's probably why Sirius is till listed actively as Harry's Magical Guardian, he never officially wen through the sentencing process so he was never removed as guardian, magically.
Harry asks when they can do the health scan and Manager Goblin says since these are special circumstances, if Harry agrees, Manager Goblin will act as his guardian during the health scan so they can do it soon. Harry agrees and Manager Goblin sends off a notice and says he called for a room to be set up but asks to get one more bit of work out of the way while they wait and tells Harry they should have the wills he's mentioned in read as they're most likely his parents'. Harry agrees and Manager Goblin summons the wills to be read.
During the reading there is a section in James's that is directed at Sirius and there are several dog related jokes thrown in and then in Lily's she also makes a couple comments and talks about keeping his big black shaggy ass hair off of her son and Harry just kind of has a click moment and looks over at the dogs standing next to him who looks at Harry like "ah shit" and Harry asks if theres a way to tell if someone is an animagus and it's very quickly revealed that Sirius is there. He explains what happened on with the secret keeper thing and how he saw a picture of Harry and could tell he wasn't being treated right by how small and skinny he was and he needed to come and find Harry and try to help him out.
Harry isn't sure what to think or feel, first he's told this dude got his parents killed, then he's told the goblins don't actually believe that but no one actually know what happened that night, now the guy is here and if Harry is being honest he's kind of terrifying because he's very tall and gaunt with long scraggly hair and a long unkepy beard and he's wearing what Harry assumes was his prison uniform. Before Harry can spiral too hard Manager Goblin says that with Sirius here, getting the health scan done is much easier. Harry decides to just agree for the moment because he's so overrwhelmed.
Harry is brought to an examination room where it is discovered there's a myriad of health problems Harry has from being abused by his relatives for so long as well as a bunch of minor jinxes and curses on his person, as well as a reading for a foreign magical signature latched onto him and finally, there is some kind of block around his magical core, which is much more powerful than usual for a child his age, especially as a muggle raised wizard, that if not removed, would cause Harry's magic to act up and eventually basically burn him up from the inside. Harry is stressed and scared and Sirius is trying not to rage about finding out he had been right about Harry's home life. Harry obviously has no idea what to do next and Sirius has really not enjoyed watched Harry stumble his way through getting to this point in the day, so he tells Harry he completely understands that Harry has no idea what to think about him as he doesn’t know Sirius and has no reason to believe or trust him, but Sirius would like to start attempting to be the kind of guardian his parents wanted Sirius to be for Harry and asked if Harry would allow Sirius to take it from there. Harry takes a moment to think about it, and something in his gut told him he could trust Sirius, there was something about his eyes, they were a dull grey but Harry had the oddest feeling that once Sirius was cleaned up, fed and rested, they'd be a sparkling and stunning silver, so he agreed.
Sirius talks to Manager Goblin and Healer Goblin and asks to get a full ritual cleansing done, there at the bank, he personally can't take Harry anywhere as a wanted man, but even if he could, since he has no clue who laid all these curses and the magical binding on Harry's magical core Sirius has no idea who to trust among wizen. Goblins however, once they make a deal, keep it. Especially Gringotts goblins. Healer Goblin bulks a bit at the request, because they don't usually perform magic like this on wixen, let alone wixen children, but manager goblin knows there has been cases in the past where it was done. Manager Goblin tells Sirius it can be done, but there will be a fee, a rather high one, and Sirius says that's fine so long as teres a binding contract for all involved to sign that they will reveal nothing about harry's condition without harry or Sirius's explicit permission and Manager Goblin is like duh bro.
Manager Goblin lets Sirius and Harry know that since they do not usually do this kind of magic on wixen, they will need to bring in two wixen to help, one cursebreaker, and one potions expert. Harry wants to refuse but Sirius explains that everyone involved will be signing an ironclad NDA (come up with name for a magical NDA) and they won't be able to say anything to anyone about anything. Harry is like well alright I guess.
The first wizard to come is Bill Weasley and when Bill introduces himself Harry freaks out, but is soothed when Bill says he's already signed the secrecy contract. The second wizard is Snape, which is just a shit show really since Snape and Sirius hate each other and Snape hates Harry and Harry at the very least strongly dislikes Snape. Eventually the goblins tell all the wizards to get over themselves, Snape has already signed the contract and hes the only one available with healing training and the ability to brew all the potions Harry will need in a way they won't interact badly with each other. The Goblins explain that Bill will do his own quick analysis as his wixen magic may pick up on things the goblin scan did not and Snape will be running another diagnostic scan which will let him know if there's anything Harry is allergic to that he'll have to take into account when brewing the potions for Harry and obviously, his own health scan. Harry and Sirius very reluctantly agree for these other scans to happen.
The Goblins, led by Bill, go through the process of checking for the compulsions and find out that Harry's sweater that he's wearing, is laced with compulsions and charms to make him slightly more pliant and loyal and Bill realizes some of the other magic that's affecting Harry has his mother's magical signiture which breaks his heart and Harry's.
After going through that and being told he can't get the Horcrux out of his head quite yet, but they'll look into how to go about taking care of a Horcrux in a living person.
Next is the second medical scan and Snape keeps a straight face but inside he's in denial and pissed at himself. He tells Harry and Sirius he can have everything made for the first round of potions within a couple hours and asks where they will go. Sirius says he's taking Harry to Grimmauld Place and that the ritual cleansing and what the healing that they can do will all happen there so Harry can be transferred to a room to rest more easily afterwards. Snape nods and says he'll drop them off personally before dramatically strutting away, his cape billowing behind him just like at school which casues Harry to snort.
The Goblins tell Harry that they should do the ritual to officially cleanse him and then start the healing process right after and keep him asleep for most of it because it won't be pleasant.
Harry is scared and uncomfortable but says alright and Sirius takes Harry, Bill, and Goblin Healer to Grimmauld Place.
Okay so that's what I have mostly planned for a beginning, re-reading it there are already some things here and there I'd like to tweak, but nothing major.
Here are a few more things I've got planned that I'm excited about and I want to know if you guys would be too.
Once Harry's core is unlocked, he begins having regular dreams with some random dude and he ends up figuring out its Merlin (yes, Merlin as in BBC Merlin) and Merlin explains to him that he's meant to be the next in the new generations of gods (right now I'm sticking with the whole Master theme) and Harry is meant to be the Master of Death. That leads into a whole subplot that ends with Harry being immortal and having like, a soulmate.
NottPott, because elph13, lomonaaeren and lonibal have made me absolutely fall in love with the ship.
Black Family bonding/Lucius redemption of a sort. Draco becomes the best big brother/cousin to Harry.
Chronically ill Harry/ED Harry - the abuse from the dursley's will have longer lasting effects.
Harry kind of realizes he just loves pretty clothes and most of the time the prettier clothes are girls clothes so he ends up wearing more feminine leaning fashion and since Sirius and Draco are very secure in their masculinity and Narcissa always wanted a daughter to do makeup and shit with, Harry learns to apprecaite and love skin care, makeup and hair care as a form of self care. Basically, he learns that he feels better when he feels hot and Narcissa especially kind of takes it and runs with it. Maybe leaning more gender fluid Harry than like, femboy Harry. Y'know?
Harry mostly stays friends with a lot of the Weasley's and he tries to stay friends with Ron and Hermione, but as Harry grows and becomes more of himself, they just don't mesh well and they end up not really being very close friends anymore. Harry is probably closest to the twins, but he does keep in contact with Percy and Charlie as time goes on and has no real problems with Ginny once she gets over her crush.
Harry ends up offering a third side to the war that's much more palatable to most people.
Dumbledore bashing, duh
Okay that's all I can think of right now.
Let me know what you think!
Blood of Eden
Okay, so. Here's the first idea. I'm just going to post them in alphabetical order.
As I stated at the end of my post yesterday, this is a rough idea. Not entirely flesh out. There are things I may have tagged in the post yesterday or are out down in the idea here, that may or may not make it to the final uploaded version.
That also means I am very much up to incorporate suggestions or ideas from readers if you would like to give any.
Anyway, here's the current word vomit I have on my OneNote as my starting idea.
Takes place 10-20 years before the events of Immortal Rules, but still 60 years after Red Lung and all that. So I guess maybe it's better to say the actual events of Immortal Rules (other than Kanin turning Allie) takes place 10-20 years later.
Kanin is a better sire in general, although he still has a very rocky relationship with Jackal, so they regularly travel together until Jackal feels he needs space from his father's guilty conscience and then he spends time in Old Chicago rebuilding.
Jackal also has better morals than book Jackal, though not by much. He still rules Old Chicago on a mostly laissez faire style and lets the Raiders come and go as they please and mostly self govern, however if he hears rumors of his raiders doing things he deems wrong, he kills them. (Mainly having to do with hurting women and children, his mom and sister were brutally raped and murdered in front of him) That's about it though, he still tends to kill for the fun of it and sees humans as bloodsacks at best and easy etnertainment at worst. This is where Kanin and him tend to have the most disagreements.
Blood ties are a much bigger deal in this universe, which is part of what leads to Kanin being a better sire to Jackal and Allison. He is aware his bloodline is looked at with caution and he is not welcome In most vampires' presence since the Outbreak, so he stays close to his children and teaches them to only ever fully trust in their family. Other vampire bloodlines are close, but even other vampires can see the difference in the bond between Kanin and Jackal and eventually with Allison.
Jackal only had two other siblings before Allison and they were much much older than him, from well Before, and they don't appreciate the way being tied to Kanin has ruined their reputations and also how close Kanin seems to be to Jackal so they decide to try and kill Jackal because they can't kill their sire. Jackal kills one in self defense which enrages Kanin and causes them to split up for a time. The second sibling finds someone to send after their father and attempts to have him killed but Jackal gets dreams and ends up saving him and in the process kills his second sibling as well. Kanin is heart broken and even though he understands that the older siblings really left Jackal with no other choice other than to allow their sire to die, which he knew would never happen. This along with the other clashes in their personalities and personal philosophies about the Demon inside them is what tends to put them at odds.
There are a lot of vampire customs and an entire society that Allie needs to learn about and navigate.
Kanin runs into Allie when he comes to New Covington, he arrives a week before Jackal should arrive and in that time Allie is changed and Kanin does his best to give a crash course in blood ties and family before Jackal comes. Jackal is nervous to meet another sibling, remembering how his last two tried to kill him. Kanin is obviously unable to let Jackal know before arriving that his new sibling is a girl, Jackal just felt a new blood tie snap into place the day Allie woke up, his other siblings had both been brothers. He didn't think it would affect him so much, having a sister versus a brother, but enough of the love he had for his human sister and the pain from how she died must have stuch around in his fucked up psyche because the moment he saw Allie, he knew he would never be able to hurt her, even if she tried to kill their Sire. Allie looked and sounded nothing like his human sister, or mother. She was much too tiny, both short and thin. Her hair was straight as a pin and darker than a moonless night. Even before becoming a vampire, Allie seems to have had pale skin, because now, she was several shades lighter than Jackal. She had almond shaped eyes and a sharp and pointed jawline. Everything about her was small. Jackal himself was fairly large he was born and bred in the midwest of the United States, a real farm boy. His sister had taken after him, tall and broader than a lot of the girls in school. The only thing they had in common was their dark hair, but even that wasn't the same. However, when he looked in her eyes he saw the same kick ass attitude his sister had held in her soul up until her dying breath, a true fighter. That got Jackal. All he knew now was that whatever happened, he'd protect his blood sister the way he hadn't protect his human one.
Well... Hello there.
Well, to start off, Happy New Year!
Please no torches and pitchforks, I have an explanation for the lack of chapter in September, and just like, in general.
Turns out my body really sucks.
Lol okay so I have an autoimmune disease, I believe I said in my last post that I was having some health struggles and was starting to feel better, right?
WRONG
It took a bit more med shuffling and way too many doctor visits and I waited until I had been feeling consistently better for 2 months, rather than just having like, a good week, and being like, "I'm healed!" I started a new med regimen at the end of August and it took until mid October to really feel their effects as well as work out a good schedule for like, food and sleep and stuff because apparently that's important too when you have an autoimmune disease, I had no idea. I was tempted to take those good feelings and run with it, but then I remembered how last time went and I didn't want to burn out part way through a new chapter, so I decided to wait and really make the new schedule a habitual routine.
Which brings us to now! I am feeling loads better and my New Years Resolution this year is to have, at the very least, one update to something on AO3, once a month. So if absolutely nothing else, I'm hoping to have 12 new chapters by the end of the year.
Now, before you get too excited, if you followed me from my writing on AO3, that means you're here from my only story on there currently, which is a Reading the Books type fic for Percy Jackson. I do not think I will be updating that story first.
HOWEVER
I want to make this next part super, super, super clear.
I AM NOT ABANDONING THAT FIC
I swear I'm not. It's just been a long time since I worked on it and I have so many other ideas and I think I'd like to work on those too, or at least introduce them and see how they do. I am planning to sit and reread all of Making a Better Future, taking some notes, doing some editing, and then putting out Chapter 12 at the earliest possibility.
I am so sorry if that upsets some of you, but please know I will not be abandoning that fic. Seriously that fic means an awful lot to me and I would be crushed to let it go, so I won't.
Now that that's been made clear, onto the next item on the agenda: other fic ideas!
So, over the last couple years, I haven't just been not writing. I actually have several ideas for several fics for several fandoms.
I have at least 3 more Reading/Watching Canon Material, each for a different fandom, but I think those will wait till I finish at least the first set of PJO books. I also have 8 other fics for various fandoms with at least something fleshed out.
Unfortunately, I am absolute shit at making decisions. SO. My plan is to let anyone who sees this decide. Over the next couple days I'm going to upload whatever I have for the setup of each fic and whichever one ends up with the most activity within about a week, I'll do my first upload on AO3 of 2026 for that fic.
Here is a super rough list of what fandoms I have planned (in alphabetical order) and a very quick idea of what they are so if you see anything you might be interested in, check back in in the next couple of days to find more details and let me know.
Blood of Eden series: Canon rewrite, timeline shift, allison becomes a vampire earlier than in canon so she's already been a vampire for a bit when she finds Zeke, not a romance story, found family, heavy on vampire society and lore
Harry Potter: Harry is Lord cliche, Champion of Death, Merlin (yes Merlin (TV)) as a mentor, but like it's in his head, NottPott, Magically Powerful Harry, wants all the war bullshit to stop so he can be a housewife and wear pretty clothes for eternity!Harry
HP/Twilight crossover: Twilight sort of canon?, as in, twilight canon events try to happen, but MOD Harry is so tired of human Bella's shit, as well as the vampires, so he ignores them for the most part, but shit happens, and as usually he gets dragged into it, and he just basically magics shit to stop, Jasper/Harry, mate bonds. Charlie and Harry friendship
Merlin: A/B/O, Alpha Arthur, Omega Merlin, Balinor Lives, Dragonlord culture, arranged marriage, Merlin finds out he's royalty and is like let me stay in nature
Stray Kids: Hyunlix, Hyunjin is bad at feelings, oblivious Hyunjin, Possessive Hyunjin, Jealous Hyunjin, Lee Felix Yongbok takes every ambasadorship known to man, Felix is a Sunshine, Everybody loves Felix, Hyunjin is bothered by everybody loving felix, past SA
Supernatural 1: time-travel, fix it, Destiel, Sam gets to stay at Stanford, chuck is god, chuck regrets everything, he sends Dean and Cas back in time after Cas and Metatron cast all the angels out of heaven at the end of Season 8
Supernatural 2: Canon rewrite starting from the end of Exile on Main Street, inspired by Unexpected Destinies, chuck is god, chuck apparently gifts archangels to Righteous Men when he fucks up, Dean is the Righteous Man, Raphael is Grumpy, Michael is Confused, Cas thinks this shit is hilarious, destiel, duh
Supernatural 3: Series rewrite, Adam Milligan is around, Dean is a good big brother, Dean is Adam's dad, not really, but Adam sure feels that way, Sam is depressed, his fiance still dies, so it's valid, hes also kind of a shit to Adam, not cool, he gets over it eventually, Adam doesn't like Sam either so maybe he deserves the shit, but he's also like 15 his mom is dead and his dad immediately dumped him on his older brother to raise and then dipped, Adam is also like, stupid smart, his forte is languages and translations, the three of them will eventually make a kick ass team, I plan to try to go through at least the Apocalypse, because you guessed it baby, destiel.
Okay.
I think that's it.
For the moment anyway. I have others too, these are just the ones I'm most excited about.
So, if any of those sound cool to you, check back in in a few days and I'll have some of my word vomit about the plot and begnning of each story up as individual posts and tell me which ones you may be interested in. Send this to your friends who may like these fandoms and ask them to come tell me what they think too.
I'll say now and I'll put a reminder in each post, these are just general ideas of what I want, not stuff set in stone, so I might change things you see in the Intro posts for each fic by the time everything is said and done, I am all for incorporating what any of you would like to see too, so feel free to leave your ideas and suggestions here or in the comments of whatever fic you have an idea for.
Anyway, I'm going to quit yapping now. It's been so nice to talk to you all again, even if this ends up lost in the void. I hope at least a couple of you will see this.
Thanks, sending my love 😘
I feel the need to apologize for this—
Aphrodite: ...May I help you two?
Zeus: We need to talk about Percy Jackson's love life.
Aphrodite: I SWEAR I BARELY CONSIDERED MAKING THALIA FALL FOR HIM AND IT WAS FOR THE LOLZ—
Poseidon: We're not here about his straight love life, we're here about his gay one.
Aphrodite: Oh! What about it?
Poseidon: Your aware that Percy happens to share an uncanny resemblance to our mother correct?
Aphrodite: Everyone's aware of that.
Zeus: You keep making him fall for men who look like Kronos and it needs to fucking stop.
Aphrodite: I do not!
Poseidon: Oh really! What about his bi awakening? Luke Castellan?
Aphrodite: ...That's just one—
Zeus: My son, Jason?
Aphrodite: I'd describe what they've got going on as more of a bromance—?
Poseidon: Fucking Apollo?
Aphrodite: Okay that's all on cow boy! You can't pin Sunny D's flirting on me!
Poseidon: Don't worry, I've had a "talk" with him too!
Zeus: What do you mean by—?
Poseidon: Off topic! There was also that mortal from the coffee shop!
Aphrodite: Oh that was just a puppy crush!
Zeus: Doesn't matter! You keep setting up our mother's mini me with Kronos' mini mes and it's gotta stop! Do you know how disturbing that shit is!?
Poseidon: Plus I don't want my son fucking a tiny version of my father! Our family tree may be a wreath but there are some lines that don't need to be crossed!
Aphrodite: Fine! I'll try to stop setting him up with Kronos clones! It's gonna be really hard though—that boy has a thing for tall blonde men!
Jason: Wow, they really hate us. Percy: Yes, perhaps they’re homophobic. Jason: But we’re not gay, Percy. Percy:... Jason:... Percy: We’re not?
-------------------
Percy: I am so cool. I am an absolute Chad. I am the epitome of coolness and awesomeness— Jason: Hi. Percy: *melts down in a flustered heap of softness*
-------------------
Percy: I can't take this anymore, someone needs to take me out! Jason: In a dating type of way, or an assassination type of way? Percy: I don't know, surprise me!
-------------------
Jason: GET BACK HERE YOU DUMB FUCK! Percy: LET ME RUN FROM THE CONSEQUENCES OF MY ACTIONS!
-------------------
Jason: If there are no questions, we’ll move on to the next chapter. Percy: I have a question. Jason: Certainly, Percy. What is it? Percy: What’s the point of human existence? Jason: I meant any questions about the subject at hand. Percy: Oh. Percy: Frankly, I’d like to have the issue resolved before I expend any more energy on this.
-------------------
Percy, trying to flirt: So, you come around here often? Jason, confused: I mean, this is my house, so yeah.
-------------------
Jason: Percy, is that legal? Percy: When there's no cops around, anything's legal!
-------------------
Jason: Are you ready to commit? Percy: Like, a crime or a relationship?
-------------------
Percy: How are you today? Jason: Please don’t make me think about my life.
--------------------
Percy: I'm going to dunk on you Jason: Bring a ladder
---------------------
Jason: I'm trash. Percy: As someone who's environmentally conscious, it's my duty to pick you up. Does 7 work for you? Jason: Jason: You smooth motherfucker. Jason: And yes it does.
---------------------
Percy, at Jason: Of course you have blood all over you, and pronouns.
---------------------
Jason: Okay, if we can't do it by sheer force, we'll do it my way. Percy: But your way is sheer force!
---------------------
Jason: Is something burning? Percy, leaning seductively on the counter: Just my desire for you. Jason: Percy, the toaster is literally on fire.
---------------------
Percy: I want to wake up with you every day for the rest of our lives. Jason: I wake up at 4:30 AM every day to train. Percy: I want to see you at some point every day for the rest of our lives.
---------------------
Percy: You’re so funny! Jason: Thanks; I’m desperate for people to like me.
---------------------
Jason: You believe me? Percy: Jason, you’re the last good person on this planet. I‘d believe cartoon birds braided your hair this morning.
--------------------
*after discussing a plan* Percy: Does anyone have any questions? Jason: Is this legal? Percy: Does anyone have any relevant questions?
--------------------
Percy: What's wrong with you? Jason: Off the top of my head, I'd say low self-esteem, a lack of paternal affection, a genetic predisposition for anxiety and depression, the unprocessed amounts of childhood trauma I have, and my mind that keeps telling me that love is conditional, and if I'm not good enough, everyone will hate me, and leave me, and I'll die alone.
-------------------
Jason: Let’s watch Sharkboy and Lavagirl. Percy: Okay. Jason: And make out during the scary parts. Percy: Th- Percy: The scary parts. Percy: Of Sharkboy and Lavagirl.
--------------------
Jason: Bro- Percy: No, no, hold up, rewind. Percy: My tongue was down in your throat just a second ago and now you're calling me bro??
--------------------
Jason: Why does my arm shake and turn bright red when I’m eating dirt? Percy: Percy: Why are you eating dirt? Jason: Did I ask you if I should eat dirt? No, so answer my question.
--------------------
Percy: I failed my safety training course today. Jason: Why, what happened? Percy: Well one of the questions was "In case of a fire, what steps would you take?" Jason: And? Percy: Well apparently "FUCKING LARGE ONES" isn't an acceptable answer.
-------------------
Jason: What’s your favorite color? Percy: Stop asking stupid questions. Ask me something logical and mature. Jason: How many moles of sodium bicarbonate are needed to neutralize 0.8ml of sulfuric acid at STP? Percy: My favorite color is blue.
-------------------
Percy: This is horrible! This is the most humiliating thing to ever happen to me! Jason: Oh-? Even more humiliating than- Percy: We are not doing this!
-------------------
Jason: *sighs* I have no friends... Percy: Percy: *coughs* Bitch, what am I? A roach?!
--------------------
Percy: Did you just refer to a knife as a “people-opener”? Jason: Jason: …Should I not have?
--------------------
Percy: Though I admit I don’t know much about you, I am feeling pretty confident in my assessment that you are probably some sort of sick deadly fuck. Jason: Who told you my secret?
--------------------
Jason, holding a fork: You know your talking a lot of shit for someone who has 2 perfectly good eyeballs each cost about $16,000 on the blackmarket. Percy: ....
--------------------
Percy: We are gathered here today because someone- *glares at Jason’s coffin* -couldn’t stay alive!
--------------------------------
These two are so like so smart by themselves, and then the dumbest fcking b!tches on the planet when they're alone. It's like 1 + 1 = -3 with them.

I want a BBC Merlin fanfic where Hunith visits Camelot as a surprise. Merlin doesn't know she's coming, only Gaius knows that she plans to visit. This is set in a time period where all the knights are alive (I'm looking at you Lancelot.) and Arthur is Prince, but running the Kingdom as Uther is unwell.
Hunith pulls up to Camelot and is walking towards the Castle through the citadel, burdened by her bags, when a cheerful voice rings out. "Do you need any help, miss?" It's one of the many Castle servants.
Hunith explains that she is heading to the Castle to visit her son who works there, the servant then offers to carry her bags.
"Oh I don't want to be a bother." Hunith replies
"It's no bother at all! Really, I was heading that way already." The servant insists and they both make their way to the castle, "What's your son's name by the way, I might know him if he works here."
"His name is Merlin." Hunith responds with a smile. The servant stops walking and looks at her. It's not only him that stops at this announcement.
"Y-you're Merlin's Mother?!?" A nearby servant who had been close enough to hear the conversation says in awe.
The courtyard that they're walking through gradually fills with hushed whispers as the news spreads. Everyone knows of Merlin. The Prince's manservant who had managed to not quit in the first week of serving him. Merlin, who changed the Prince from a spoiled brat into a good man whom the Kingdom was proud of and eagerly awaited the day he would be crowned King. Merlin, who had followed the Prince into battle time and time again to save Camelot.
I want a fanfiction where The Entire Of Camelot loves Merlin and is thankful for his role in making Arthur a good person. Where not only the Knights, but the Castle staff meet his mother and collectively decide that she is That Woman and treat her with Respect. Where they treat her like Royalty.
Ofc Gwaine loves her. That's his best friend's mom. Hunith looks at all the knights and adopts them on the Spot.
And Merlin is either really confused by this behavior or knows and just lets it happen.
Arthur has no idea what's going on or why but he treats her with reverence and love because that's his future Mother in Law and he's very much starved for parental affection which she gives him (and the knights) in spades.
But yes, I just want a fic of people meeting Hunith and being like "Thank you for giving birth to your son. I'd die for you both" and her being like "...please don't."
(Bonus if Leon meets her and is just like. "How did you survive being around that little shit (Merlin) for so long?" And she just laughs and gives him advice, which makes him cry because he's just so tired. #LetLeonRest2024 I will push this agenda till I die)
Merlin: it's been over a hundred years since the fall of Camelot. Everyone I've ever known is dead
Merlin: except for this fucker
Leon: it is my duty to serve and protect Camelot. As you are still here, Camelot isn't completely gone, so neither am I
Merlin: No, I'm supposed to serve Camelot until its gone! Which it isn't cause you're still here! You're taking my job!!
I will genuinely never let go of that fact that Arthur never found out Balinor was Merlin’s father. fuck the magic, that’s the secret that haunts me the most.
I wish Arthur found out early on, maybe if Merlin snapped after ‘no man is worth your tears.’ And Merlin swears that he did not inherit Balinor’s dragonlord powers (Arthur does not know they are passed father to son) and Arthur believes him.
and then YEARS later Arthur is bleeding out in the finale and Merlin calls Kilgharrah and Arthur is like wait. hold the fuck up. you said you were not a dragonlord
and Merlin’s standing there with the blood of hundreds on his hands, his last remaining sanity hanging by a thread like my brother in christ you cannot actually believe that’s where i drew the line about lying
