I’ve been doing this new skincare routine I call it. Picking at all the Flaws until I’m Perfect. So far it’s. Great. I’m. The blood is a. normal amount.
Hey Southern Friends
Y'all are about to get a shit ton of snow, ice, and feezing temperatures, so as someone from the North, I have some advice
If temperatures drop below 25° F, you may want to leave your sinks trickling or dripping over night to avoid the pipes freezing
‼️Keep cat litter in your car if you have to drive. If you get stuck in the snow, you can pour the cat litter under your tires to give them traction
If your hands are stiff and freezing, don't immediately put them in front of a heater or under hot water, you can burst your blood vessels doing that, because they'll try to expand too quickly. You want to slowly thaw them out until you get feeling back in them and can move them properly again
Don't lick your lips when they get dry, you'll make it worse due to the cold and dry air, just wait until you get inside somewhere and use lip balm
Cold air will come through your windows and the cracks in your doors (if you live in an old house), seal them up best you can. My family puts a sort of cling film over the windows to keep the cold air out and the warm air in
If you have a basement (in an old house), cold air will come from there, too. We have a trapdoor in our pantry and it gets COLD
‼️It's a good idea to keep extra blankets or jackets in your car, because if you do end up sliding off the road, it might take some time for someone to reach you

Driving in winter tips:
Keep in mind, salt only does stuff around 19 F+. If it is colder than that, salt will not improve the road conditions.
If there is ice don't drive. Don't do it. Seriously.
For snow:
Avoid complete stops if you can help it. If you see a red light slow to a crawl and inch until it turns green. You will either need traction or momentum to drive. You no longer have much traction. Now momentum is your friend.
If you get stuck in the snow DO NOT just press the gas. You're only going to get more stuck. Switch back and forth from reverse to drive - this will rock your car and give it enough traction and momentum to start going. If that doesn't work, add aforementioned kitty litter and try again.
Do NOT press your gas pedal when you are turning until you have completely straightened out. Your car's back end will probably still swing around a bit, but you won't completely spin out if you don't put power into or out of it.
You need 2-3x as much space as normal and you should drive as if everyone else on the road has their brakes cut. Give them room. If you see someone approaching a stop, pause and make sure they are capable of stopping before proceeding into the intersection.
Also adding
Shovel the snow in increments. Snow is heavy and this sucks, but it is key to keeping the bottom layer from freezing into solid ice.
Help your neighbors, especially the elderly. Shoveling snow can cause a heart attack bc of the cold weather and physical exertion especially if left to accumulate. Rest frequently if you are feeling cold, light headed, or experience any other symptoms of over exertion

The most insane thing I've seen all week and I saw a man in shorts earlier today (it was 22°F)
Ice age children frolicked in 'giant sloth puddles' 11,000 years ago, footprints reveal
More than 11,000 years ago, young children trekking with their families through what is now White Sands National Park in New Mexico discovered the stuff of childhood dreams: muddy puddles made from the footprints of a giant ground sloth.
Few things are more enticing to a youngster than a muddy puddle. The children — likely four in all — raced and splashed through the soppy sloth trackway, leaving their own footprints stamped in the playa — a dried up lake bed. Those footprints were preserved over millennia, leaving evidence of this prehistoric caper, new research finds.
The finding shows that children living in North America during the Pleistocene epoch (2.6 million to 11,700 years ago) liked a good splash. “All kids like to play with muddy puddles, which is essentially what it is,” Matthew Bennett, a professor of environmental and geographical sciences at Bournemouth University in the U.K. who is studying the trackway, told Live Science. It's been 7 months... But I May or May Not have a little treat coming to an ao3 near you
After the hell of the past two days, this reminded me of what America could and should be about. It’s a little pocket of hope when our administration is trying to extinguish diversity and community and basic human decency and replace them with fear and hate and division.
i’ve warmed up significantly towards the concept of small talk ever since i learned that its sole purpose is to make friendly noises.
as long as you smile and nod, people are satisfied. it’s just to show that you are nice and there with good intentions. we’re small in a big world and have to rely on other people to be decent to us. so we do our little human dance to each other to say, “i’m not here to hurt you. here’s something we have in common, like the weather or sports or itchy sweaters, so we both know we’re on the same team. we both agree on a basic fact, like that it is rainy or that being itchy is uncomfortable, and this proves we can get along. i’m being light-hearted and non-threatening right now.”
small talk isn’t to get to know a person. it’s just a greeting to affirm you’re buddies in the universe.
i am motivated by wanting the other person to know i am friendly, so i have gotten pretty decent at small talk when i used to hate it.

Looking at what national news outlets are up to right now, one might not realize a whole major US metropolitan area is, you know, sort of under attack by paramilitary forces. Wild.
im sorry the What is being What now???
While it's not going unreported entirely, what's been happening in Minnesota and in Minneapolis–Saint Paul in particular since Renee Good was murdered is not getting the attention it should be.
There are already 2000 gangsters from DHS deployed, and "hundreds" or "1000" more are on the way, depending on which Trumpland person you ask. As a point of reference, the Twin Cities' actual police total just under 1200 (600 in Minneapolis and 590 in Saint Paul according to the depts' sites).
The feds there are more or less attacking people at random. They've gone door-to-door for "citizenship checks" (completely illegal). They've knocked doors down when residents haven't complied (obviously also completely illegal). In addition to abducting and brutalizing the immigrants they come across during their rampages, they've done the same to US citizens of color and are also harassing, stalking and physically attacking observers.
Here are some local sources:

I also recommend checking out this guy's work:
Schools had to cancel classes due to threats from ICE, and the city districts are offering virtual learning for children who are scared to leave the house.
High schoolers had classes canceled all last week because hours after Good was murdered, Border Patrol gents attacked them as school was getting out, tackled, beat and handcuffed staff, and tear gassed students.
Just a note of the scale/how it’s affecting people at every level and in every context.
Mix of agencies too: CPB, DHS, ICE.
It's slow going but The Pile CAN be smallened!
“He'd come to the Foxhole Court every inch a lie, but his friends made him into someone real.”
I’m not gonna lie it’s borderline embarrassing how long I’ve worked on this that I’ve spend 2 days tryna figure out how to caption it to make it less embarrassing but oh well. It also made me realise the banner says exy ncaa instead of ncaa exy but at this point that’s none of my business
Short of being inside Nora’s head here is a (mostly) (I think) biblically accurate and to scale model of the Foxhole Court and Nora I have a several questions.
Also rendered so many images of this I had like 50 cameras in the scene would y’all care if I just did a photo dump.
God I have so many things to say about working on this I had to restart like 8 times it was a mess but if I start I won't be able to stop Imao though if anyone's interested in a breakdown of all the sections and materials I would be more than happy to make a post yapping about it.

Hour into the name of the year and I'm gobsmacked six -> sax has not been mentioned.
idk man i just think breed standards should be more about “hey so this is what a healthy dog’s back should look like”, “this is what a functional sled dog’s chest should be shaped like”, “this is the coat type a bird dog should have to keep warm in cold water” etc and not at all about “the dog needs to be APRICOT with NO WHITE SPOTS and FRIENDLY EYES or the judge will SHOOT YOU with a GUN so help me god”
People keep telling me I’m wrong about liking electric stoves but I’ll tell y’all a secret.
We have a glass top electric stove and I just warm up tortillas directly on that thing.
Also with an electric stove you're never going to have to call the fire department after you've taken your sleep meds on a work night cause the entire thing has started ticking like a bomb and well that sounds ideal to me.
I hate gas stoves mostly because they're scary and can explode. Its rediculous.
