AND YET A TRACE OF THE TRUE SELF EXISTS IN THE FALSE SELF
this post is about plastic dinosaurs
cant beleive it. donasairs.
Sometimes you see a post and just realize thereās some Wild Shit going on in a community you never knew existed
Attached for original context
Finally, I understand
THIS IS WHAT IāVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT. THIS WAS THE ORIGINAL POST.
I'm about to wii sports resort to violence
I'm about to have a wii fit
i had an epiphany yesterday and had to make a rushed powerpoint about it.
Brassius was in ORAS 8 years ago! š»
hello everyone! :] when i was watching gameplay of scarlet and violet on call w my friends i screamed aloud and scared them seeing these:
These (and 1 other in the town) are secret base decorations from ORAS, and when interacted with they say the same name and that they're from an 'unknown artist'. but given all the other art in the town was made by Brassius, I wanted to go look at these in ORAS
In ORAS, in the Lilycove Museum there is an artist (using the Kindler model probably because of the apron and gloves, ORAS doesn't have an artist trainer class) who says he just tried to submit his art to the museum and had it denied, and offers to sell it to you for „100000
(his dialouge if you refuse to buy anything ^ i can cry)
this museum also has a sculpture of a Shroomish by an "up and coming artist", and a painting of grass pokemon (...š» in RSE?)
(Brassius also has a Breloom on his team in his rematch)
Now, some guy selling his sculptures for a profit in the same museum that just rejected them seems to fit with Brassius saying there was a time he only cared about money and fame (possibly after his art was already featured in the museum) and made shallow trash
it makes sense that he wouldn't put his name on this old work, and that perhaps Surrendering Sunflora was an attempt at a return to form of his first popular work, the Shroomish. the last bit of evidence:
an artist saying it must be a brassius original, though the style is off.
(to be clear i don't think they were planning this for 8 years or anything (though the Kindler and shroomish specifically were added in ORAS) but that theyre tying Brassius into this Lilycove Museum guy retroactively, and its really cool!!! more people need to know!!)
OMG??????????????????,,?? CAN WE CANONIZE THIS????????????
still not over how much I love this

Mephistopheles and Margaretta, A Double Statue - medium: sculpture, sycamore wood, sculptor unknown, 19th century. Currently located in the Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad, India.
iāve reblogged posts featuring these two separately, but they go great together

sometimes being visibly queer is terrifying but sometimes it is the best and most wonderful thing in the world
when the person helping you at the store is also visibly queer, and they're holding it in but you can tell they're just so happy to see you. to say hello. or when you meet an older queer person and they are So kind to you, like they're determined to be a good thing that happens to you today. or when someone on the sidewalk picks you out of everyone to ask for directions because they know you're safe. when you walk past someone and clock each other and make the smallest eye contact, just to say i see you. thank you. we're in this together
holy shit based
heye every one.
i have on important announcemen t to make.
sam.
Just a legend spouting truths
If you have a senior to check on ask them to "borrow" something small so they think they're helping you.
My mom (72) recently downsized and moved close enough to me that checking on her in person regularly is not really out of my way, but when I was obvious about it she wouldnāt let me āstop-byā because she was, āfineā.
Well, one day I actually needed some aluminum foil so I called and asked if I could borrow enough to cover a baking tin because I didnāt want to run to the store. She said sure, but when I got to her house she needed furniture moved, a wasp nest removed, and her coffee pot fixed. After I got the foil I mentioned each thing cautiously and she let me take care of them for her. So next weekend Iāll need a cup of rice and check on her again.
Donāt ālet them thinkā theyāre helping you.
Just LET THEM HELP YOU.
āHey Mom, do you know how to fix a button? I lost one off my good shirt and I really need to learn.ā
āDad, how do you get your spaghetti sauce so good? If I come over on Saturday can you show me?ā
āPlaying cards sounds great, Mrs. Simmons, Iāve never learned canasta.ā
Elders are also part of your community and they have much to teach you. Exchange. Donāt condescend.
There is one particular ship dynamic that never fails to wreck me, and Iāll call it Soulmates, But Not Like That. Not in aĀ āsome higher power has decided that we are destined to be togetherā way, but something that is almost the opposite of that. Itās that character who has been alone for a long time, and has maybe convinced themselves that they will be alone forever, and who has a lot of barriers to intimacy with most of the people around them, for whatever the relevant narrative reasons are. And then they just happen to cross paths with thisĀ ONE FUCKING PERSON who works for them, through some very specific combination of personality and circumstance and life experience and mutually compatible damage. And there is always the shock of what are the fucking odds, and underneath everything the terror of what if this doesnāt last. what if thereās no one else. I would just go back to being alone. I donāt know if I could do that after knowing this. Because when you finally let down that wall of emotional self-sufficiency the thought of having to put it back up again is painful. And in real life I donāt at all believe that there is only One Designated Person for anyone, but in fiction I do tend to gravitate toward characters who believe themselves to be The Only One in some way, and I will always be emotionally compromised by that dawning sense of oh. You are like me.
