ok so I like Raylan most of the time, he's an interesting character and often hilarious, but you know what I want to see more of? Art, Tim, and Rachel. Give me a little less Raylan and more of this awesome squad, please. Really hoping seasons 4-6 answer my prayers

I'm only halfway through season 2 of Justified but so far one of my absolute favorite things is Tim just being an unintentional "oh shit" for Raylan. Poor Tim getting done dirty by the plot by just Being There and Doing His Job. Raylan wants to be in public with his ex-wife? Oh shit, Tim's standing at the bar. Raylan needs to save his ex-wife from her own stupidity by picking up some evidence? Oh shit, Tim already came and got it. And already processed it like a good little boy.

writing is so funny because i could write nonstop for 9hrs and then hit a block where im like "how do i transition between this moment and the next?" and then i just dont touch it for 6 months

Serious advice tho if this happens, it's likely because you already wrote past the end of the scene and wandered too far from the more logical transition point, and you should go back to the last time the writing felt "unforced" and cut everything after.

You can also just skip the transition. Really good writing can span years in a single sentence, like you can just authoritatively state fact and your reader will go with it.

you know what I appreciate about AO3. that it isn't trying to stuff its interface full of chipper little AI features. i can open a oneshot on AO3 without a modern day clippy popping up to say "wow! this sure is a long page! want me to summarize it for you?" i get to the end of an unfinished fic and don't get an offer to auto-generate a statistically average ending. i go to the comment box and spicy autocomplete doesn't try to take over the keyboard for me.
