Mik was swayed to this costume by its ease (wear a snazzy suit and horrible, plastic vampire fangs) and Nick's nerdy delight at explaining the whole deal with the Anne Rice gay Vampire books. Plus, Nick could go as a cute, evil, blond vampire. Why would he say no?

part 2: the extra from jaws look

Of course, despite looking fine in the suit, why would Mik deny himself the pleasure of a slutty halloween look? Sometime during the party, Mik stripped himself of his exquisite suit, out of his trousers and button-up shirt to wander around in a pair of tight, tiny swim shorts and sunglasses.

WEDDING DETOX UPDATE… ☀ ☀ ☀ ☀ ☀ I'm a strong believer in stepping back and enjoying life for life's sake. And it's so so important to breathe and renew your energy when you're going through an important life event, like my upcoming wedding to the ever charming @nickambrose.

After our Bachelor parties, I came down with an intense bout of negative energy. When your body shuts down, when negative energy makes it hurt to speak, that's basically the universe asking you to slow down and invite good energy into your life. So that's what I've been doing these past weeks, slowing down, spending time with Nick and reconnecting with my aquifer of positive energy.

I've been making a point to care after my nutrition, my body and my fiance, and I'm finally at a point where I feel that I can give back. I'm centred and full of love and excitement to enter this upcoming phase of life.

So to celebrate my rekindled life force, for the next month I will be giving discounted sports massages to three luck BeFit members (first come first served), and the sassy Yassers out there can look forward to some wedding exclusive flavours and merch we'll be dropping the next couple of months. I expect to see everyone drop by BeFit to say hello and to give me all of the latest goss!

Mik grew up in London, UK. He was a rugby star through highschool and then university, but he failed to play professionally, dropping out of uni and becoming a personal trainer. Shilling protein shakes, Mik reconnected with his old school-mate Nick and together they started their own protein shake/lifestyle brand business, Yas Shakes. They rode the high life, until Mik gambled away the bulk of their money. As if things couldn’t get any worse, Nick found out he was pregnant. Hm, where to find Mik? Sarcasm-- Mik would be at the gym, of fucking course. Kaz been asked to be a groomsman. Best man. Kaz Raval, of all people. A no in Kaz-speak meant 'absolutely fucking hell no'. As stoic and immovable as he tended to be, he had actually agreed. Or more accurately had been coerced by Mik's god damned sparkly eyes. If Kaz was Mik's choice then it meant there were no other choices to begin with.

And certainly Kaz could find a way to leverage some use for the favor down the line. Inside the gym, he walked towards Mik as he called out. "What's up? Everything is a go for the big day, yeah?" Assuming the answer would be yes indeed! Followed by a slap on his shoulder and the sales pitch of the day. And Kaz could carry on.

Mik panted hard as he sprinted hard on the manual treadmill, arms pumping, feet flying at breakneck speed. He'd already done his cardio for the day, but he'd needed this extra little treat, a burst of endorphins and energy to get him through the day without feeling like his heart was going to explode. He counted down to ten in his head, and then after another count of three gradually slowed down, coming to a walking stop. He grabbed his towel, and his bottle of Rehydration Blues as he cooled down, already feeling a little at ease.

As he made his way back to the welcome desk, Mik perked up upon seeing Kaz loitering there. "Kaz!" he shouted, coming up to the other man and giving him a healthy slap on the shoulder. "Just the man I was looking for."

"You know what, I realised I don't have cufflinks. Cufflinks," Mik repeated, as if the absence of cufflinks were the worst denial in the world. "So you just let me know if you come across any cufflinks, yeah? And do you think that the canteen cooks will be able to whip up an hors d'oeuvre menu featured on the theme, French Riviera Elegance?" Mik walked past Kaz and to the desk, pulling out the sheet of things he'd taken to writing down whenever they'd come across his mind. "Oh, and I need to know how long your speech is going to be, so we can make sure that the backing music fits the tone..."

The gym was an interesting environment. Not the kind of space Amelia had frequented in L.A- though she knew it was overrun with them now- but it had an appeal, especially here, where working out was one of the few hobbies on offer. It wasn’t quite shameless staring, but yes, she enjoyed the scenery as she went to hunt down Mik, not even dressed for the gym, her roller skates clumsily stuffed in her half open backpack, notebook in hand.

“What’s shakin’?” She quipped, tapping her pencil against the cover. Mik was getting married soon, she supposed she should ask about that– had read the registry, lot of interesting stuff, was gonna have to figure out what to get her hands on. “I came for the latest island observations. And to congratulate you, s’pose. Got a dress code in mind for the big day?”

"Right, so that's 100:1 odds on betting that I'm going to fall down the aisle," Mik chided the gymbro, motioning to the agility ladder over in the cardio zone. "You know Hot and Hard is all about functional muscle, mate. Every morning you can find me running my agility drills to warm up. And honestly, mate, I don't want you to throw your wedding away, yeah. But if you must, there's a few items on the registry, you might have heard of them." Mik pulled out a print-out of the registry list and slid it to the gym bro, finding his escape from the gymbro by a welcome face.

"Yas Shakes are always shakin'," Mik quipped back at her, doing his best to approximate her cute as a button, cali accent. He wasn't that good, or accurate, but he tried his best. "Observations is it?" Mik mused, glancing over the gym, his little refuge of endorphins and self-betterment. "Well, Delilah is hosting a hot yoga session this afternoon, if you've got the spare time. She likes to encourage people to lose their layers if they're getting too heated." He winked at Amelia, resting his chin on his hand.

"Well, the official theme is Art Deco, so like, black and gold, with rainbow hints." Mik was doing his best to wrangle rainbow from being hinted at to being the main event. "So, you know, black tie, formal wear, the usual. But at the Reception you're allowed to get a little sexy and slutty with it." Mik smiled, glancing up at Amelia. "Sooooo, is there anyone you want to be seated next to?"

She looked at the stage, the projection of the list. "Granted, I get why you used the stage...not like anyone could miss this, huh! And what a list..."

Mik stood amongst the crowd absolutely beaming, proudly wearing the hand-bedazzled, hand-cropped T-shirt that read, 'future trophy husband'. When he saw Jupiter, somehow his smile stretched all the wider, all hydrogen peroxide freshness. "Jupi!" he called to her, beelining straight towards her. Some of the sheen came off his smile as she chastised the style of their announcement, because yes, of course it would have been better to build up to it, use Jupi's connections to elevate the Registry Drop. "Well… I didn't want to put too much on your plate…" he said, letting the suspense grow for a beat before putting Jupiter out of her misery. "Because... I thought you'd like to be our DJ!" It was the best news he could ever hope to give her.

"Think about it, a worldwide wedding reception playlist! And, if you'd want to, you could be our reception emcee!" Mik ducked his head down so he was more level with Jupi, plying her with his puppy doglook. "Say yes? Please please please please?"
