maybe if i began blogging again i would be able to write papers and finally graduate
decided to come on tumblr instead of twitter to say this bc i thought it'd be funny, but i watch youtube ads and get mad like some sort of idiot; i think security companies don't realize how insane they sound when they offer "money saving" high tech systems "to deter intruders and criminals into finding an easier target,"
a) they're saying fuck your neighbors, ooohhh you're gonna be robbed insteaaaad
b) they're saying fuck your neighbors, we don't give a fuck about why people are desperate so we're just going to kill them the long way via the legal system
c) they're saying fuck your neighbors, we're robbing you in broad daylight
which then causes, oh no who would've guessed! more bemoaned criminal activity! it would be comparatively more efficient if you helped to prevent people from becoming so desperate in the first place by fulfilling the basic necessities of food, shelter, and water
when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. when all you have is a paintbrush, everything looks like a canvas. when all you have is a cock, everything looks like the exhaust pipe of a 2014 honda civic. so yes, to answer your question, i am stuck. please call the emergency services
okay so i work in the deli of a grocery store, yeah? and today i got this guy who came up with his two twin children, around five years old. he walks up to the counter, carrying one kid in each arm, and loudly goes "oh, no, i forgot what i wanted!" and turns to the boy in his left arm and, in a perfect blues clues style voice, goes "caleb, do you remember what i wanted?" and the boy goes "half pound of yellow cheese!"
i, obviously, say "you've got it little sir!" and slice up half a pound of yellow american cheese, handing it to the little boy, who looks it over, nods, and tucks it in his lap.
then the man goes "well, we can't just have cheese on our sandwiches. but what else can we put on there?" and the little gurl in his other arm goes "half pound of ham!" so i nod and say "yes ma'am! what kind?" and she points at a random cut of turkey, so her father nods and says "like she said, honey ham!" i cut half a pound of honey ham, hand it to the little lady, she looks it over, nods and puts it in her lap.
then the man goes "now, what should we have for the side?" and the kids both simultaneously start cheering "macking cheese!!!" and the man spins on his heel and marches off, presumably to find the macking cheese.
later, the little boy comes wandering back to the counter while his father looks on and loudly and proudly proclaims that he wants to know where the mustard is. i point him to the correct aisle, he nods, says "thank you mister deli woman" and walks away.
This is heaven
i was so good at this water sort mobile game and i’m stuck on level like 348 and i’m convinced this one is impossible. i was stuck on it for weeks like a year ago and then quit and came back to it recently with a new hunger and vengeance and it’s kicking my ass i swear
it’s just not possible.
i take back every bad thing i ever said about this website
I don't know why there are fake people distorting our image. I am Moataz from northern Gaza, a graphic designer, and this is my Instagram account. I photographed almost the entirety of northern Gaza. You can visit it and make sure. Unfortunately, we have gone through a lot and there is no passion to delve into the controversy of what is happening outside the world.

This is my campaign, and I will continue to fight to reach its long-term goal and rebuild my home, just as I fought throughout 257 days of war to stay alive. This is all not for me, but for the sake of my daughter, my wife, and our future children. My brother was martyred a week ago, and this is the biggest thing that has happened to me in this war, but I cannot surrender. I will keep trying just for the sake of my family.
Hello my friends, I am Moataz, a graphic designer from Gaza. I have been married to Maryam for two and a half years, and we have the most be

I'm Nour Alanqar, and reaching out to you during a time of unimaginable hardship. I am 26 years old, married to Ashraf Ismail, who is 32, and together we have three beautiful children: Hussein, 6, Rajaa, 5, and Youssef, just 10 months old. Our lives have been turned upside down by the devastating war in Gaza, and we desperately need your help.
My daughter Rajaa is a radiant beam of sunshine, bringing boundless joy, warmth, and love to everyone she meets.
On a dark night at the beginning of the war, our area was subjected to massive bombing. The explosions reached our home, forcing us to flee into the night, running amidst periodic explosions and searching for survival. We made our way to southern Gaza by morning, seeking refuge in Rafah.
This is our home, filled with our memories and moments of joy and happiness, now reduced to rubble. Its destruction shattered our hearts.
In Rafah, we found shelter in a crowded warehouse filled with strangers, all of us struggling to find basic necessities like food, water, safety, and cleanliness. Despite these challenges, we were again hit by direct bombardment. My husband was injured in the shoulder, and the scene around us was filled with blood and corpses. The cries of my children in those moments still echo in my head.
A fragment of what it once was, and now, what it has become.
We moved several times to places described as safe, only to face new tragedies. During this period, my precious daughter Raja contracted hepatitis, adding to our suffering.
It was incredibly difficult for me to endure these disasters, especially as I was in the process of giving birth. Youssef was deprived of proper breastfeeding and the necessary nutrition for his age. Hussein's right to education and a safe childhood have been cruelly taken from him.
My baby Youssef, whom I clung to throughout the war, running with him through the rubble of shattered homes to escape.
At an age when Hussein should have been enjoying his childhood, all his rights were taken away from him.
Our situation is dire, and we need your support to rebuild our lives and provide a future for our children. Your kindness and generosity can make a profound difference. Your contributions will help us secure safe shelter, access to medical care, and the basic necessities of life.
Please, consider helping us during this critical time. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to safety, stability, and a chance to rebuild our lives.

Just want to bring a little attention to some trouble on Georgia's barrier Islands where our last Gullah community is getting smothered by the government's encouragement of gentrification
Please share bc it's such a small community that will get no attention
Hogg Hummock is a community made up of formerly enslaved West Africans, and it’s the last Saltwater/Gullah Geechee community on a Georgia barrier island.
The approved zoning changes made by McIntosh County commissioners will allow for buildings to be built over 3,000 square feet, which is twice as much as the previous 1,400 square feet.
Island activists gathered more than 2,300 hundred signatures on a petition filed in probate court Tuesday that would force a county-wide vote on the zoning ordinance.
Islanders say the ordinance would triple their taxes and force the last remaining descendants out, changing their way of life forever.

Marcelat Sakobi of Democratic Republic of Congo, at the end of the women’s round of 32 boxing match against Uzbekistan's Sitora Turdibekova, made a strong gesture to raise awareness of the ongoing genocide in the DR Congo by placing her hand in front of her mouth and pointing two fingers at her temple.

Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project - Lifeline for Congolese asylum seekers who relocate to Maine, which is one of the most popular places in the country for asylum seekers from the RDC and Congo.
Amjambo Africa - Completely FREE nonprofit newspaper that you can get at grocery stores in cities around Maine with large African populations. It offers news in French and is critical for disseminating information about immigration law and policy changes in a way that's actually accessible. They take donations, because again, they don't sell the paper, they give it out for free.
If there are a lot of Congolese asylum seekers in your community, consider learning French! Typically asylum seekers who come in the land route from Brazil to Texas speak very, very minimal English because of the urgent nature of their evacuation. If you live in a community with a lot of Congolese people, you will start to notice people struggling to convey their needs at places like the DMV, town hall, and post office. One real concrete way you can help immigrants from Congo and the RDC right now is to learn enough French to help interpret.
It seems like it's a steep learning curve, but for someone who is already fluent in English, French isn't that hard. I taught myself French independently while working in the govt and got hours of daily practice with people from Congo and the RDC and that was enough to make me able to serve clients in French and to this day I can step in at places like the post office.
Learn to pronounce French names. Learn how to pronounce names in Lingala, which has the most straightforward and unambiguous pronunciation system of any language I've ever seen. Learn how to pronounce phonemes like mb-, nk-, nd-, etc. Imagine how dehumanizing it would be to have your name mispronounced everywhere you go - your name, a core piece of how you conceptualize yourself. Imagine how it would feel to finally be addressed correctly.
You don't have to have spare money to give to make concrete change. Just effort.
