I think people need to make sure their leftist logic is actively different from conservative logic. I don’t think enough leftists sit down to think about what economic conservative logic actually IS, because it often relies on some of the same language of small elite “them” that had all the wealth and privilege and power versus a good hardworking “us” that does not, in ways that often twine with regional conceptions of race and racism, with xenophobia and anti immigrant sentiment, and with conspiratorial antisemitism. Like sometimes the economic conservatism that’s aimed at the wealthy (or those who perceive themselves as wealthy) is about you who are rich deserve more then them Bad Poors, but the practical praxis of economic conservatism - tax cuts, slow increases in minimum wage, cutting public funding to education and healthcare and social assistance - is also very often marketed and bought by people who aren’t rich with the idea that hey YOUR money is going to PRIVILEGDED PEOPLE WHO ARE SCAMMING THE SYSTEM and TAKING YOUR MONEY like those privileged inner city kids or those teachers or those rich rich unions or those welfare queens! Money should be REDISTRIBUTED from ELITES [local middle class people] and given back to YOU so YOU WILL BECOME RICH! Like.
