— all i want for christmas is you!
synopsis: you've been crushing on your teammate for months, and has been too shy to confess. you finally decide to muster the courage to confess... not with words, but by gifting them a hand-made accessory
.ᐟ featuring: enjin, semiu grier, tamsy caines, mildretta
.ᐟ i am not an accessory person, so sorry if this is awkward in any way, shape, or form </3
You stood before Enjin, avoiding his questioning gaze as you hid the gift you have created behind your back. His relaxed smile did wonders to your frenzied heart, thumping like crazy the moment you saw it. His eyes flickered with a hint of curiosity, darting from your eyes to your arms.
"I... uh..." Your voice faltered, shaky as you finally met his gaze. Your hands shifted nervously behind you. "I made something for you."
Enjin titled his head slightly, the faint gleam of amusement tugging at the corner of his lips. His eyes shone, as if he had already clocked the reason you've pulled him aside during dinner. "Aw, for me? Really? You didn't have to," he chuckled, leaning closer.
Your breath hitched at the sudden closeness, but you gathered yourself, taking a deep breath as you extended your hands. He took the small box, almost buzzing with curiosity as he opened it gently.
You have made him a sleek steel ring, engraved with an abstract pattern of Umbreaker. It was simple and unassuming, going perfectly with his tattooed fingers. Every line and curves on the ring had been placed with great care, as you wanted to emulate his role as the one who connects others.
"I thought a ring would look good on you," you explained, smiling softly as he took it out of the box. "It reminds me of you—on how you're able to connect with everyone here in the Cleaners."
Enjin's eyes softened as he lifted the ring, turning it between his fingers with a small smile that made your cheeks burn. "This... is really thoughtful," he said quietly, his tone still bright yet tinged with something gentler. "Thank you, [Name]. I'll cherish it."
You bit your lip, heart hammering in your chest as he held your gaze. You swore he could hear how loudly your heart was thumping, practically broadcasting your crush on the man! You watched him admire your gift, glinting against the lights as he ooh'ed and ahh'ed repeatedly.
Finally, he slipped the ring onto his left ring finger, the metal complimenting the black and red tattoo. He grinned, showing it off to you with a sudden close-up. "It looks good on me, dont'cha think so?"
You nodded hastily, creating some much needed distance between the two of you. Your nerves were still being fried, but the skittish feeling was soon replaced by warmth and longing as Enjin went on and on about how you knew his style the best, and how everyone was going to be jealous of his new ring.
You approached Semiu cautiously, the small box clutched in your hands. She glanced up from her desk, eyes sharp and focused. You gulped, feeling your ears heat up at the intensity of her gaze... and how absolutely breathtaking she was.
"Yes, [Name]?" she asked, tone clipped, and staring intently at your face. "Ya need somethin'?"
You cleared your throat, begging your ears to turn back to normal, as you held the box out carefully. "I made something for you, Semiu. Thought it might... suit ya."
Her eyebrows arched slightly, curiosity flickering behind her glasses. She leaned forward, taking the box from your hands, and inspecting it under her desk lap. Upon opening it, she let out a soft gasp, eyes darting at you with surprise.
It was a custom golden bead chain for her glasses, shaped in tiny stars. You had a hard time thinking of an accessory to make for your crush, and just decided to play it safe with something that would be useful for her.
Semiu's fingers lingered on the delicate chain, the soft gold catching the light from the desk lamp. She turned it over, inspecting the craftsmanship, her usual composed demeanor softening by genuine awe.
"Ya... actually made this?" she asked, voice quieter with a hint of wonder.
You nodded, fidgeting slightly. "Yeah... I thought it'd suit your glasses—and, y'know, it's practical. You could switch between your usual chain to that whenever you feel like it!"
For a moment, Semiu simply studied you, expression unreadable. You gulped, feeling sweat rolling down your back. Your heart hammered in your chest, afraid that the woman of your dreams would reject your gift, which would mean she had also indirectly rejected your feelings has well!
Then, she chuckled, taking off her glasses and clipping the chain on. It fit perfectly, the tiny stars gleaming as light caught on it while she adjusted her glasses back on.
Semiu then turned towards you, her lips curling into a faint smile that made your chest tighten. "How do I look, sweetheart?" she asked, almost purring when she said the petname.
Your brain combusted, face turning every shade of red when she called you that. You forced yourself to gaze at her teasing eyes, seeing the knowing look crossing her face. "It... fits you perfectly," you breathed out, absolutely captivated by the woman.
"All thanks to you, doll."
You cornered Tamsy while he was on his way back to his room. "Hey... got a minute?" you asked, hiding a small box behind your back. Your plan was to nudge him into somewhere more excluded to... well, 'confess.'
He slowed down his pace, glancing down at you with a raised eyebrow. "Hm? Yes, why?" he asked before catching your arms behind your back. Immediately, his confusion melted into a light smile as he pointed at your hidden hands. "What's that you're hiding?"
You hesitated, startled at being the one cornered by the questioning. Deciding it was now or never, you admitted softly, bringing the box into view. "I made... something for you..."
Tamsy titled his head, his luscious hair falling onto his beautiful face, as curiosity flickered in his eyes. Carefully, he took the box from your hands and opened it. Inside lay a delicate layered silver anklet, simple and elegant, just like he was.
His lips curved into a gentle smile, eyes studying the piece thoughtfully as he gazed at you. "You made this?" he murmured.
You nodded, cheeks flushing. "Yeah... I just thought anklets would be a good look on you since your arms are usually hidden under your sleeves."
Tamsy looked down at the anklet, then slowly knelt down in front of you to slid it onto his ankle. Your heart race around your chest, the image of him kneeling making it feel like he was... proposing! You blinked rapidly, shaking your head to push away the thought.
"I like it a lot," he said quietly, eyes meeting yours. "Your efforts means a lot."
A soft warmth spread through your chest. "I'm glad you like it," you whispered.
He gave a subtle nod, eyes crinkling shut as he laid a hand on your shoulder. "I'll wait for you to properly confess to me," he said with a smirk, startling every inch of your soul, "but... Thank you for this gift. Truly."
You could only gape like a fish as he continued to walk down to his room.
You found Mildretta in the quiet corner of the library, checking over a stack of reports you were sure was from headquarters. Your heart thumped nervously in your chest as you approached her, a small box hidden inside your palms.
"Hey... Mildretta?" you called softly, trying to keep your voice steady.
She looked up, a single brow raised as the faintest edge of annoyance spread in her expression. "Yes? Make it quick. I'm busy."
You swallowed down your nervousness, forcing a small smile. "I... I made something for you."
Her eyes narrowed, curiosity flickering in them as she set down the papers in her hands. "Made me something? What is it, [Name]?"
You hand her the small box, watching her opening it with furrowed brows. It was a matte gunmetal cuff bracelet, its surface etched with sharp, angular lines that caught the light just enough tot hint at your craftsmanship.
Mildretta picked it up, weighing it in her hands, her expression softening slightly. "This... is for me? Really?"
You nodded, feeling your neck turn red. "Yeah... Thought it might suit you since you're really good with guns."
She let out a short chuckle, the corner of her lips twitching upward as she caught your pun. She held it up to her wrist, slipping it on with deliberate care. The bracelet hugged her wrist perfectly, which sent a rush of satisfaction to you. "I... Well, it does look good on me," she muttered, her tone still curt but somehow warmer than usual.
You smiled, heart fluttering. "I'm glad you like it."
She gave a short nod, looking down at the cuff with a small, fleeting smile. Then, her expression hardened, lips pressing into a sneer—and for a moment, you thought she changed her mind—as her gaze landed on the stack of reports in front of her. "I don't suppose you could help me out here?"
You blinked, a little startled, and groaned lightly as you reviewed the amount of paperwork the two of you had to go over. "Haa... sure thing, Mildretta."
