Weeks into my SPN binge...
And I've realized that my all-time favorite thing in Supernatural and also one of the most heart-breaking episodes is the one when Dean gets to set up his own room in the Men of Letters bunker. Seeing his happiness when he gets to decorate the walls with his weapons and display his vinyl and then just that tiny picture (probably the only one he has) of him and his mom--and then Sam's utter disinterest because he got his own room in college and is just very over the family thing. Dean's innocence and inherent desire for anything resembling a family and a home is what kills me on the show. It breaks my heart every time that look of disappointment darkens his face, every time he decides today might be the day he gives up, every time he realizes Sammy will never quite love his brother the way Dean does.... This binge has just left me very distraught about it.
