I am clearing out my seed stash of some oldish seed 2014-2018 and instead of throwing them in the compost pile I figured I would offer them to anyone interested! Since some are pretty old they aren’t garenteed to germinate and some packs have been opened and only contain a partial amount but I’m willing to send them out for free to give them a shot at life.

Unfortunately I have to restrict this to people in the US only ... and you have to be comfortable giving me your mailing address (obv)

Veiling doesn't have to have anything to do with sex or sexuality. I veil because it keeps me safe from negative energies, and because I believe that your hair is an extention of your soul, and covering it is a way I keep myself safe (I won't expose my soul to just anyone). mostly I just wear a hat. A few things I've heard people do is getting a tattoo/piercing, or jewelry. I had a ring I'd wear that would remind me of the Netjeru at all times and just remind me that they are there. ❤❤

If you’re white, don’t worship deities that are from spiritual practices of color (ex. Egyptian gods). Also, be mindful of which religious paths are closed and are not open for you to practice (ex. Indigenous practices, Judaism).

Deities aren’t Pokémon. Don’t culturally appropriate.

While this post is good and comes from good intentions, I do just wanna say that the Kemetic Pantheon is an open pantheon, same with many levantine pantheons (such as the Babylonian and Mesopotamian pantheons).

What constitutes an open vs closed path is a LOT more than whether or not it is a practice of color.

Yes, Kemeticism is open to anyone interested because it's a revived practice from a culture that no longer exists in any form (modern Egypt is completely removed from Kemet and Kemetic culture) and that, when it did exist, actively worked on spreading its religion to other peoples. There's some discussion about this, but in general, it's agreed that Kemeticism is fully open (though it does have some awful racism and anti-Blackness issues that white Kemetics like to pretend aren't there).

That isn't really what I'm focusing on in the op though. It's actually extremely weird to me, as an Ojibwe person, to see indigenous practices next to Judaism in terms of being closed to outsiders.

Judaism is closed in the sense that it's initiatory. If you go through the proper channels and undergo conversion (which is a long and difficult path but open to anyone who wants to try walking it), then you're Jewish. Full stop.

There's no equivalent for that in any indigenous tradition that I'm aware of. Our practices are 100% closed. You can't convert to them and the most outsiders are typically involved in our traditions is a temporary invitation to ceremonies.

These things are not equivalent and absolutely shouldn't be treated like they are. There is a reason why Judaism allows conversion and there is a reason why indigenous practices are fully closed and reducing them both down to "don't touch" does our communities, histories, and cultural beliefs a massive disservice.
