Some MARVEL and DC comic book fans are absurd in the sense that
“Yeah I’m a comic book fan I love talking about these characters IN CANON but I HAAAATE the comic book canon to its very core and think it should all be gone :3”
And like. I get not liking idiotic editorial decisions and current writers, sucks for everyone. But also I saw a guy claim that the Batman/Superman friendship is overrated and forced and it should not exist. What are we doing
i understand creative liberties in adaptations and reimaginings and varying inspirations and such but i feel like it’s very understandable for a fan of a comic book character to also not want to engage with a billion reinventions and changes and just watch a faithful movie/cartoon/anything about the VERY motherfucker they’ve read about
something about treating the base comic version within a given story as something inherently stale and just a ‘blank slate’ to work on and modify (even when thats blatantly untrue) or requiring change to be good is just sad and disappointing and comes off to me as showcasing a lack of respect towards the source material

That was a post about all CBMs and cartoons based on comic books in general. But from what I do know I will say that unlike Superman 2025, Supergirl *is* actually based on a specific story. Like, I get what you’re trying to say but it very much was an adaptation of Tom King’s Woman of Tomorrow. That’s a commonly known fact about it.
