A man, his cat-daughter, and her pet dog velociraptor
Just a reminder for everyone that issues have nuance, and that there isn’t nessecarily a good side and a bad side in any given situation.
Also a reminder that people online often immediately side with the group that 1. Is best at making themselves out to be the victim in the situation and 2. Has the worst consequences if you don’t side with them
You are not a horrible person if you are on teh opposite side with a fandom at large on an issue, or if you have a more nuanced opinion that does not neatly fit in what they have decided the two sides of the issue are.
Also, touch some grass. Tell a real human you know in real life about the situation. Maybe someone who knows nothing about the fandom. It’ll give you some good and often much needed perspective, I promise
reblogging with my tags because actually they should be seen by yall too
also the tag that just says maybe is meant to say “maybe, just possibly, people make mistakes sometimes”
The idea that "the AI's treatment of Carl is treated as a joke" is interesting when you consider who is treating it this way. Who is the primary character joking about Carl's sexual abuse? None other than the AI itself.
Went through some old “learn to draw people books” and had a thought. I genuinely believe the worst thing a new artist can do is use those books. Ive never seen one that i would recommend. I say this because while the parts about eyes and ears and hands are typically ok, the moment you get to anatomy it becomes useless and even bad for someone new. People are not cylinders. They are build of muscles and bones and fat. These books always have muscular men, skinny women and no lessons on the muscles underneath or how to stretch and use them. You dont learn about different face shapes, body types, or WHY people sometimes look different. You dont learn about the different races, or anything helpful about genders, or learn what an injury/disability might look like. I understand these books are for kids, but pretending that there is a right way to draw bodies is flat out wrong. I remember asking why all the people in my books looked the same and was told it wasnt a big deal, but it is. I didnt look like that. My friends and family didnt. Whats the point of a “learn to draw people book” if im only learning to draw 2 people, a muscular man and a skinny woman. I want a lesson on muscles. Not anything crazy, but show us where the big ones are and how they can look different between people. Show us new face shapes and hair that isnt just straight but also curly and wavy and the basics of that. Show us how a disabled person might wear a prosthetic. Show us how womens bodies have muscles too, and that they have so much variety and places where they can look interesting. Show us men that are skinny, or short, or large or small. Show us how to draw a gender neutral person to learn the basics and balance anatomy. Stop pretending that what you find attractive is the only option. And i only care about this because it sets artists back, makes it harder to experiment and express themselves. It makes art less fun when there are rules to what people look like. Stop caring if it looks good, try and draw real people. People arent cylinders. If drawing shapes helps you draw people, draw the muscles underneath, not some picture perfect human that never changes. Obviously do not change what makes you happy, however I genuinely think that drawing new types of people is so much more fun.
sometimes family is a coast guard vet, a cat with a tiara, and their pet velociraptor and I think that is beautiful

Does anyone else want to see Carl get that ass tattoo to match the one Donut has?
Girl whose last two pieces of media were DCC and The Amazing Digital Circus: "Wow, I wonder why new books and shows keep being about relatable protagonists suffering under the tyrannical bootheel of malevolent omnipotent all seeing AIs"
just started a parade of horribles and wdym i open the book to donut putting a bounty on her lawyer's head for daring to try and steal all of the princess posse's assets and scaring the lawyer so bad she nearly pisses herself. i love this book already

i love your dcc art SO BAD 😭❤️ you're my Favorite in this small little fandom we have. could i request some carl icons in color in the vein of these carl arts you did? only if you're feeling it!! i have just stared at these for hours with love in my eyes and i yearn for them in color
ask and you shall receive~ /ᐠ > ˕ <マ ₊˚⊹♡ also thanks so much omg ////// I'm honored!
ok the real-time patching causing the liquids to spill out made me laugh out loud
It's a funny moment, but it just reminds me of the great risk Carl took at the very start to help out all of what was left of Meadow Lark. They weren't as...blasè as Samantha, but you know if someone else was in his group at that point - they probably would have made the same argument
