when people talk about serial killers that target women they do not often enough specify it's typically a vulnerable demographic of women (sex workers, often ones in poverty) rather than like, a random woman jogging in an upper class neighborhood. these sex workers are a favorable target due to cops not giving a shit, stigmatization of sex work resulting in these women being isolated, and already existing violent misogyny towards them in our society.

They also tend to targeted homeless women, drug addicts and women of colour. Thinking about that guy that killed and tortured like 20 women, kept the bodies in his home and only got caught because complaints were made to the city that his home stank. Most of his victims were homeless or mentally disabled black women but because no one cares about this demographic, no real action was taken to look for them.

Not to undermine the message, because yes, especially locally, votes count - but the only reason they were able to avoid the veto-override was that a couple more Republicans changed their votes from when they originally passed the legislation.

So, actually this is more "vote and" adding to the message rather than undermining, because at least one of those Repubs said her changed vote was due to people in her district contacting her and urging her not to support the override. So vote AND contact your reps.
