@anyar0se
I reblogged this last month, tagged it, and said âmight as well see if it works.â I used this video as a reference to find all the forms that i needed (which is A LOT, especially if youâre a dependent) and sent them through the mail, not really allowing myself to hope.
dude.
$2,714 of medical debt from my top surgery - gone. im shaking this was such a weight on me for 2 years and it fucking worked. what the fuck.
This is huge. Sharing for my US friendos.
Hospitals like to hide these policies under a lot of successive links in obscure places, so if you don't see anything right away, keep looking! Get friends to help! Make it a scavenger hunt. A game where you're assassins sent to slit capitalism's throat

Annual deer post:
If you see a fawn laying down on the ground all alone, leave it alone. It is not lost, it does not need your help, do not pick it up, do not move it.
This behavior evolved to keep deer young safe. The baby is very small, very quiet, and hard for most predators to see. A young fawn cannot keep up with a fleeing mother deer, which is their primary problem-solving strategy. So while the mother goes elsewhere to graze, the fawn stays safe and hidden. The mom will be back.
Leave the fawn alone.
This is always good to pass around this time of year, but I would like to add something for the few of us who might be encountering the moose kind of deer.
Moose are deer, but moose have the opposite strategy. They stay close to their babies, and their primary response for anything getting close to their babies is immediate violent murder. If you do see a baby moose by itself, leave. Leave the baby alone and leave the area, preferably quickly. Momma is at most 30 yards away and has already kicked on the kill bill sirens.

Can't afford art school?
After seeing post like this đ
And this gem đ
As well as countless of others from the AI generator community. Just talking about how "inaccessible art" is, I decided why not show how wrong these guys are while also helping anyone who actually wants to learn.
Here is the first one ART TEACHERS! There are plenty online and in places like youtube.
đșHere is my list:
Proko (Free)
Marc Brunet (Free but he does have other classes for a cheap price. Use to work for Blizzard)
Aaron Rutten (free)
BoroCG (free)
Jesse J. Jones (free, talks about animating)
Jesus Conde (free)
Mohammed Agbadi (free, he gives some advice in some videos and talks about art)
Ross Draws (free, he does have other classes for a good price)
SamDoesArts (free, gives good advice and critiques)
Drawfee Show (free, they do give some good advice and great inspiration)
The Art of Aaron Blaise ( useful tips for digital art and animation. Was an animator for Disney)
Bobby Chiu ( useful tips and interviews with artist who are in the industry or making a living as artist)
Second part BOOKS, I have collected some books that have helped me and might help others.
đHere is my list:
The "how to draw manga" series produced by Graphic-sha. These are for manga artist but they give great advice and information.
"Creating characters with personality" by Tom Bancroft. A great book that can help not just people who draw cartoons but also realistic ones. As it helps you with facial ques and how to make a character interesting.
"Albinus on anatomy" by Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. Great book to help someone learn basic anatomy.
"Artistic Anatomy" by Dr. Paul Richer and Robert Beverly Hale. A good book if you want to go further in-depth with anatomy.
"Directing the story" by Francis Glebas. A good book if you want to Story board or make comics.
"Animal Anatomy for Artists" by Eliot Goldfinger. A good book for if you want to draw animals or creatures.
"Constructive Anatomy: with almost 500 illustrations" by George B. Bridgman. A great book to help you block out shadows in your figures and see them in a more 3 diamantine way.
"Dynamic Anatomy: Revised and expand" by Burne Hogarth. A book that shows how to block out shapes and easily understand what you are looking out. When it comes to human subjects.
"An Atlas of animal anatomy for artist" by W. Ellenberger and H. Dittrich and H. Baum. This is another good one for people who want to draw animals or creatures.
Etherington Brothers, they make books and have a free blog with art tips.
As for Supplies, I recommend starting out cheap, buying Pencils and art paper at dollar tree or 5 below. For digital art, I recommend not starting with a screen art drawing tablet as they are more expensive.
For the Best art Tablet I recommend either Xp-pen, Bamboo or Huion. Some can range from about 40$ to the thousands.
đ»As for art programs here is a list of Free to pay.
Clip Studio paint ( you can choose to pay once or sub and get updates)
Procreate ( pay once for $9.99)
Blender (for 3D modules/sculpting, ect Free)
PaintTool SAI (pay but has a 31 day free trail)
Krita (Free)
mypaint (free)
FireAlpaca (free)
Libresprite (free, for pixel art)
Those are the ones I can recall.
So do with this information as you will but as you can tell there are ways to learn how to become an artist, without breaking the bank. The only thing that might be stopping YOU from using any of these things, is YOU.
I have made time to learn to draw and many artist have too. Either in-between working two jobs or taking care of your family and a job or regular school and chores. YOU just have to take the time or use some time management, it really doesn't take long to practice for like an hour or less. YOU also don't have to do it every day, just once or three times a week is fine.
Hope this was helpful and have a great day.
Incase people missed this.
New Frame Plus for character animation! Incredible analysis by the guy that used to do Extra Credits
Autodesk sketchbook is also a free drawing program
Great tools! But also can we discuss the "anti-ai artists only complain because their livelihood is threatened" YES??? that's the most legitimate reason to be wary of something??? Instead of being inconvenienced by not wanting to put in the effort? FUCK
*Pssst* Hereâs Some Free Books for Coping with PTSD
Everyone say thank you internet archive
hi certified adultâąïž here. these are some household tips and tricks iâve picked up over the years.
stop using liquid laundry detergent. itâs mainly water which means a) you end up using more of it and b) it doesnât get your clothes as clean. powder detergent is cheaper, lasts longer, and actually cleans your clothes.
while on the topic of detergent, use the measurements on the scoop. especially if you have a high efficiency machine. using more detergent than youâre supposed can mess up your machine.
i also recommend powder detergent for your dishwasher, too.
get an apron. it helps keep cleaning chemical off your clothes. it also prevents your clothes from getting wet if youâre doing the dishes.
this is related to the apron thing. i like wearing one bc it makes me feel like a tavern owner. cleaning is easier when you make it into a game.
if youâre okay with wearing shoes in the house, wear them while youâre cleaning. if you donât like wearing outside shoes in the house, get a pair of inside only shoes. wearing shoes inside activates what i call âgo mode.â
âgo modeâ is activated when iâm wearing clothes i didnât sleep in, shoes, and an apron. it tricks my brain into doing things bc getting ready like im going to leave the house makes it easier for me to do tasks.
stop buying all purpose cleaner. get a spray bottle and fabuloso, or some other concentrated cleaner. you add it to your spray bottle and dilute it with water and bam! itâs cheaper and it lasts far longer. and it smells better.
if financially able, get viva paper towels or something similar. they work far better than regular paper towels in terms of absorption and ability to clean dried sauces or what have you. the texture is a bit odd, so if it causes sensory issues, try cheap wash cloths instead.
stop. using. sponges. get a bristle brush. you donât have to replace them nearly as often, you can actually wash them, and they donât get stinky if your mental health keeps you from doing dishes for a bit.
i almost exclusively buy generic brand products because i really canât tell the difference, but if financially able, buy name brand toilet paper. thatâs one of the things you can tell a difference with.
stop thinking about cleaning as âcleaning.â that word carries a negative connotation for a lot of folks in a lot of different ways. youâre not âcleaning,â youâre resetting your space.
when it comes to tidying up, remember that you live there. your space is allowed to look like it has someone living in it.
if itâs been a little bit since youâve tidied up, and youâre overwhelmed, thatâs okay. weâre human. shit happens. life isnât pristine. pick a room, pick a corner, work outward from it, and remember things are gonna look worse before they look better.
sometimes i use a timer system. i set one for 30 minutes and clean until it goes off. then i set another one for 10 minutes and take a break. and then another 30 minute timer with another 10 minute break. etc., etc. sometimes the timer goes off and iâm in the zone so i donât need the break or another 30 minute timer. sometimes my 30 minutes end and my brain or body tells me iâm done. sometimes i can do 20 minutes or 10 and thatâs what i can do for the day. each of these scenarios are okay. progress is progress.
different people have different ideas of what clean looks like. sometimes clean looks like not a single thing out of place. sometimes clean looks like all the trash being picked up and thrown away and no science experiments growing in the kitchen. both ideas are okay.
if you have pets, especially cats, and youâve got pet smells, especially cat pee, that feel impossible to get out, all hope is not lost. those smells arenât permanent. borax and vinegar can get the smell out of clothes, but youâll need to wash them twice. once with the borax and vinegar, and then again without them to get the residue out. this is when an apron is handy again because borax is caustic. so be careful with it. this combo also helps with mildew smells, or just any other hard to get out smell.
if financially able, an enzyme cleaner and oxyclean are great for getting those smells out, too. i like to use ânatureâs miracleâ enzyme cleaner. itâs super concentrated, so a little goes a long way. iâve attached the link for it.
got litter boxes? got cat pee smell you canât get rid of? got another icky smell? âangry orangeâ is industrial strength AND pet safe. the link for that is included, too. plus it can be diluted to make it last longer.
get a broom with soft bristles that are tightly packed. they do a great job at picking everything up. thereâs another link. you donât have to get that one, itâs just an example.
wear a mask. especially if you have pets. tidying up can stir up a lot of dust and hair. keeping those allergens out helps you a) not feel like shit if you have allergies and b) helps you keep going longer.
if youâre overwhelmed, donât be afraid to ask for help. you have nothing to be ashamed of.
if you donât want to ask for help, for whatever reason, thatâs okay, too. make a to do list. break your tasks down step by step. need to clean the living room? start by picking up and throwing away trash. then pick up out of place items and return them to their home. if they donât have a home, make one. clean the windows if you have them. clean the space around the doorknobs if there are knobs to clean. dust if you need to. wipe down any surfaces: coffee tables or end tables or tv stands or what have you. and then vacuum or sweep. it doesnât have to be perfect. itâs okay if youâve gotta take breaks. but itâs a starting point.
be kind to yourself. youâre busy and human and the internet lies. most peopleâs homes donât look like show homes or magazine worthy. itâs okay if things get out of hand. no matter how daunting, the space can be reset. it may take a couple of hours. it may take a couple of days. it may take a couple of weeks. but it can be done.
Crawling out of my hole to remind people that with this current update to Firefox (version 144) they've gone and dumped in their lot with a buncha lil AI tools, namely Perplexity as a new search engine.
So if the sound of that leaves your mouth tasting of tar, here's what you want to do:
In the url bar, type in about:config
It'll give you a big scary warning page that you might poke holes in your browser. Good. You want to do that. Click continue.
One by one, you're going to need to put each of these into the search bar in the page, not up top:
browser.ml.enable browser.ml.chat.enabled extensions.ml.enabled browser.ml.linkPreview.enabled browser.tabs.groups.smart.enabled browser.tabs.groups.smart.userEnabled
Each of these are gonna have a lil toggle icon on the right hand side that looks like a funky double-ended arrow. Click that and the value next to it should change to false. It all auto saves as you go. Some of these might already be set to false by default and that's peachy.
The next best thing you can do for yourself is to set your default search engine to udm14 or Qwant, but for now, we're just tidying the garden a lil bit.
Edit: This wildly broke containment for a post that was supposed to be me basically ranting and grumbling like an old man on my porch to my homies. If Iâve inspired you to follow through with this, peachy. That was mildly intended. Better yet, I hope Iâve spurred a buncha you on to do your own bit of digging and research.
If you were one of todayâs lucky ten thousand to learn something new, I hope you keep doing it. I wonât be here to hold your hand through it, as I simply donât have the time nor spoons for it, so I implore you to go down your own rabbit hole and chase knowledge with wild abandon.
i think i tend to forget how good boredom is for creativity because we're all so addicted to numbing ourselves with screens and stimulation. but standing in the shower or going for a walk with no music or just sitting in your bedroom without being allowed to touch any screens & all of a sudden i have multiple new projects to start, a solution to a months-long plot problem & 4 new original characters
Hey someone suggested I use ChatGPT to figure out adulting today, and as I was going through the mental list of places I'd rather look, I realized "beloved strangers on Tumblr dot net" was on that list.
So if you have an aspect of adulting that you're really good at-taxes, budgeting, cooking, insurance, credit, time management, house upkeep, anything-please feel free to reblog with any tips.
Not me, but @bitchesgetriches has a lot of great resources for many of these topics on their website.

Adult realization: you will make mistakes, you will act irrationally. You will commit some wrongs that cannot be fully righted. People will dislike you and misunderstand you for all sorts of reasons. None of these make you a bad person. All you can do is try your best to be kind and just to people, grow and learn.
in addition: Trying to avoid ever doing these things will cost you in ways you cannot comprehend until you stop and accept this.
I cannot believe there's absolutely no way to watch free shows and movies anymore, there are too many paid streaming platforms and pirating websites have viruses and ads preventing you from watching it uninterrupted((.)) id rather follow the rules and purchase media moving forward because it is too inconvenient. Seriously, free and no ads or viruses with 1080p streaming is DEAD.
Exactly! It's freaking annoying when I want to watch movies but I would have to subscribe to like 24 different services . Just to watch the shows that I like.
Oh and wouldnât it be nice for cartoons? Just anything animated. I just wanna stream things without getting conned. Must I be cartoonless forever?
i like using streaming apps but there are waaaay too many and they're all stealing my data .i wish there was a secure and organized way to have millions of shows and movies available one one app. but alas. we've truly gone full circle back to cable + now it spies on you. its a real shame. i dont want to fill my device storage with tons of boring and stupid cash grabs.
i know, it's so annoying for everything to be paid nowadays, especially movies and tv shows. it would be perfect if i could watch them without getting infected by some virus or some shit. i'm fine with ads, they gotta run themselves somehow, but i want to watch stuff and .live! if they have to use different domains i'm okay with that too, because free media is .top dog either way.
for mobile users, it especially sucks, because you can't just use websites and you have to not only pay, but you have to download a billion apps just to find what the thing you wanna watch is on. it doesn't help that the streaming services take up...so much space. so much.
It really breaks my heart to see all the streaming services ive grown to love raise their subscriptions to such ridiculous numbers. And you can't even cancel your subscription easily due to all the .pages and pages of weird legal gobbledygook making your life a living hell when you try. And honestly? The apps for services like Netflix are performing so bad, I wonder if they even pay the .developers or if they have a couple random slave interns working on them..
wikipedia no longer being anywhere near the top of search results when looking up anything feels eviscerating
#they really said âyou canât use wiki as an academic source-use our garbage AI thatâs even less reliableâ#and you canât even opt out of it
no but you can FORCE it away. use ublock origin and copy paste the blacklist i made into the filters to be able to remove the bullshit AI overview that google forces. it also removes youtube's forced ads (at least until they fix it)
you can also use the ublacklist extension and use this blacklist of AI image generation websites to curate your google image results
there are ALWAYS ways around stuff. it's just a matter of looking into it and asking around

Pro tip: If you copy and paste a link that said âno free articlesâ into a private/incognito browser, it will let you read the whole thing.
also if u press the âescâ (escape) key on ur laptop before the page fully loads, it wonât load any pop-ups blocking u from reading. if the article has images, then this method sometimes does not u see them. but! the words will be fine :)
If the site is particularly badly designed, you might just be able to delete the overlay itself. Right click > Inspect element and delete the line of HTML (itâll be highlighted automatically)
hey kids there is a website called outline.com that will let you read from pretty much any news site with a paywall for free
outline.com is amazing - it hasnât failed yet on any site that Iâve tried it on.
Thereâs a chrome extension and firefox extension.
