It’s amazing how trans women will experience a classic example of misogyny such as the objectification of women’s bodies and sexual organs and the violation of her privacy and personal bodily autonomy through upskirt creep shots which is a classic male misogynist act to commit against a woman and because she’s trans that level of sexual harassment will be considered acceptable because she’s “not actually a woman.”
Which is just a thin excuse because men by and large are not being subjected to strangers sharing photos of their genitals without their consent but it also wouldn’t be suddenly acceptable to sexually harass and violate someone because they are a man. Like any male misogynist, JK Rowlings is twisting facts about the woman she harassed into a justification for why it’s acceptable to harass her.
is this gonna get me fired you think
What helped me write trauma better is remembering that the nervous system learns predictions. If danger used to come after quiet, calm can feel threatening. If kindness used to come with a price, kindness can feel suspicious. So healing is not just “they know they’re safe now.” Healing is the slow, annoying, deeply unfair process of teaching the body that the old prediction is not always the present truth.
The situation in Gaza is still incredibly dire. Israel is attacking the people in the strip despite the 'ceasefire'. Gazans access to food, medical care, and evacuation is poor.
If you'd like to help a family in Gaza, please consider Nader's fundraiser. He's a young man trying to support his family of eight people, including a young niece and a father who has cancer.
FUNDRAISER HERE.
I think it's incredibly important to support people in their times of need. Please consider donating or reblogging to support his campaign. One good action can make a world of difference for another person.
The situation in Gaza is dire due to shortages of food, medicine, and medical equipment. Hundreds of thousands of wounded and sick people are suffering because of the siege, and my father is one of them. He suffers from many problems: arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure, back pain, and cancer. My father is fighting for his life under the siege and the lack of all medical supplies. I don't want to see my father die before my eyes because of this Please donate now
the backrooms are simply not as scary conceptually if there is Something In Them
the whole reason why they're so unnerving is BECAUSE there's nothing in them!! because they're unrelentingly liminal and lonely and uncomforting. there shouldn't be a monster guy in there chasing you. you should glimpse other humans (?) from a distance but they walk away before you can close the gap and then they're gone. things should run away from YOU. do u get it
"and there was a MONSTERowooowwohhhh" the monster is isolation and banal beige sameness and uncanny valley architecture. you fool. you rube. you're putting a hat on a hat and the second hat is not only unnecessary but it ruins the first hat!!!!!!! "there's a monster in there" great so now it's just another place for a monster to be. ridiculous

Break the stereotype* of tumblr sexyman always being a skinny guy in a suit. It’s time for hairy muscled short fat muscular men with big beards to shine. Vote senshi. tumblr sexyman is whoever tumblr says is the sexyman. bring in the new era
He’ll make you bread
*(people keep poiinting out that sans and stan won who are not skinny suit wearers. i am not saying they did not win. i'm saying it's the common stereotype of what a tumblr sexyman is. sans and stan winning only further proves my point that senshi can win)

something that's always stuck with me is Adorno's critique of liberal research on fascism - that liberal scientists believe you can approach fascism in good faith by simply asking Nazis what they think about the world and then writing it down. He argued that fascism is itself a bad faith ideology, and that Nazis will not usually answer the question "do you want to exterminate all minorities?" truthfully, especially not when asked by academics (who are all Marxists/Jews/etc plotting to destroy civilization). So in order to accurately capture fascist sentiment, you have to conceal your intentions and basically lie to them. And there are real moral imperatives for social scientists to do this, in the same way that journalists go undercover in white supremacist groups to report on their activities and beliefs. There's even that famous East German documentary where the directors lied to a Nazi military leader about being West German filmmakers, got him drunk, and then just filmed him saying Nazi shit lol. So like the conventions of science itself, the idea that good research is necessarily always transparent, is a political assumption that shapes how you conduct research and acquire knowledge

"they'll always be gringues before they're black, before they're disabled, before-"
That's crazy, because you wanna know a specific moment where someone being Black clearly mattered more than being an American? At the World Cup, where IShowSpeed was called racial slurs on live TV. Over soccer. Once again, the situation which kickstarted this conversation.
Clearly his being American did not stop them from very comfortably calling him a monkey! I wonder what they saw about his identity first that made that happen 👀 I wonder what sort of society one must be raised in, in order to call someone a racial slur so comfortably 👀 But you know, apparently white supremacy can only be called out in the United States.
Anyway, every single response to this situation has sounded like this to me
Y'all want us to believe this is about anti-imperialism and not racism so bad, as if antiblackness globally is not a huge factor in the imperialism you claim to be fighting against 😭 like, give it up, you are fooling no one but yourselves fighting this one
And what's wild is no one has denied the original racism, either. No one has pulled a "this isn't normal here". Barely acknowledging it, actually. It's been the ongoing equivalent of "yes this is racist, but you're making white supremacy here WORSE by TALKING ABOUT IT! You aren't even FROM HERE! Why don't you bring up OTHER PEOPLE'S RACISM" 🙃 And meanwhile I bring up other people's racism all the time. The US' racism most of all. It's just that I also brought up theirs this time, too. Grievous sin.
