I've been watching a bunch of book review videos and its making me write more bc I keep finding myself thinking "wow the bar is low, I could probably do better" and then i stop and think "yeah its easy to say that but ur NOT doing better are u? How come its obscenely normalized for people to sell, like, art prints and charms and all that w copyrighted content/characters on it but the second a fic writer thinks "idk maybe ive considered that what I make might be worth money" its like. A moral issue. I guess I have seen people make and sell bound versions of fics but I feel like I've also seen people frown upon that practice? I dunno. I'm not Aware enough to say it feels like a double standard but I imagine there must be a reason for it. Well, beyond art prints/charms/etc just being more popular. If there is a legal reason I'd love to learn it, I'm genuinely curious

(And i don't mean on ao3 I know why the nonprofit website can't have ppl making profit from it, I just mean in general)
