Do you ever wonder if Thucydides had his own version of the Brasidas introduction scene at the intersection of their real world fates and that's why he writes like that about him?
Because I just did. And its a pretty amusing thought.

12 pages into my book and now i gotta do a side quest to find out more about this guy
From Wikipedia:
Like okay. Yeah. He earned that.
Wait, it somehow got worse
He destroyed everything and then just made shit up
I think we should call him harsher things, actually

new wip: ac odyssey korfu tunic
I suspect I didn't make the band long enough to wrap all the way around, so I may need to remake it. but in any case, it's a good project to test out converting the tablet woven weft threads into the warp for the rest of the cloth.
reference:
by the way, for anyone who wants to try making this themselves, here is the pattern I drafted for it. this version is not twist-neutral, and the twist got pretty annoying by the end because I had not yet learned about the magic of fishing swivels.
I created this twist-neutral version as an alternative, which also includes the white outside border that the version I'm working on now doesn't have. (the borders are not twist-neutral, but since they are all mono-colored, it shouldn't matter much to simply reverse directions once the twist becomes unmanageable). I have not yet tested this version out, so I don't know how it looks woven. if anyone does try it, please post pictures!
if you want to make a full tunic out of it, and you want to minimize sewing, you can try doing what I did, which is to use the weft threads also to create a warp, as shown in this video.
First kiss
Thank you so much again @d1spatch for this incredible commission! This art is just perfect and depicts all the tenderness and softness a kiss should have! ❤️

The really funny part is that many modern sources that want to gas up Sparta will bring up this specific anecdote, but stop at the "if" and just not mention what happened immediately afterwards.

Brasidas: sends a letter requesting aid in Amphipolis
Me: Fucking off to have a kid, stop a second cult, and galavant around Greece just so he doesn’t die yet
This man really just ignored the fact that literal years in-game must have passed between him sending that letter and me dragging my ass there. Plus I went to Amphipolis several times after he sent it. I watched him on the wall and carefully tiptoed off yo do other things 😩
(Finally had to suck it up and go to Amphipolis this playthrough and now I want to cry 🥺🫠)
