Starting to understand that some people really genuinely can't "just eat" the same way I can't "just sleep". Yeah you need the stars and planets to be aligned just the right way and be in the right mood and have the right music on and have the room in the right temperature and the air moisture must be just right so you can chew and swallow one (1) single green bean, just the same as I need to lay in bed for two hours playing magic the gathering before my eyes force themselves shut. There are things people recommend that would be better to do if they worked, but they don't so I can't just fucking do that instead. Can't just go horizontal and wait 30 seconds like my boyfriend does.

Anyway, bit of a side note, but this drawing includes my personal headcanon for Eridian "glasses"! They're the bands Eridian!Grace is wearing around his arms-- since Eridians don't "see", I imagine nearsightedness/farsightedness is more related to the quality of sound rather than something being blurry at a distance. If one is "nearsighted", that means that an Eridian's echolocation isn't strong enough to clearly make out objects at a distance. "Farsightedness", conversely, is when echolocation is too strong and makes it hard to "see" things that are too close because sound bounces off of them too much. Eridian "glasses", then, are bands that go around the joints that connect the limb to the body and change the quality of sound that reverberates into the carapace. "Glasses" for "farsightedness" (aka Grace's glasses) dampen closer soundwaves to make those things clearer. Ones for "nearsightedness" amplify soundwaves from farther away, making it easier to perceive objects at a distance.

Maybe it’s the autism in me but I can’t wrap my head around people who say “I just don’t understand gay/trans people.” in a derogatory way. I don’t GET anyone. I don’t have to understand why someone is the way they are to accept that they are that way. Why are you trying to make a woman explain what it feels like to be a woman to defend her womanhood? You can’t understand it anyway. I truly do not give a fuck if you don’t get it. the puppetry in phm is just so fucking good dude. think abt how much improv there was. the dancing/mimicking scene when rocky and grace first met? that was improvised. that means that 5 people were so in sync with each other on this puppet that they were able to mimic ryan gosling in real time with no plan. bro.
